It's COLOUR WEEK at Just Us Girls

It's my Good Friend Judy Woodland's
First Time Hosting at Just Us Girls
as she recently joined us with her awesome talent
and has chosen such gorgeous soft colours
for our Colour Challenge.
It just so happens that we both love
the colour Lavender (and purple) so I was
excited when I saw her chosen colours
of  Lavender Peach & Ivory.

I seem to have been making lots of floral type card lately
so this was a perfect chance to move away from them.
This card came together so easily.
I have this beautiful Mother of Pearl metallic card stock
which was just perfect for the Ivory colour required.
I again used ivory card stock for my flourishes background
which were randomly heat embossed
with Satin Pearl Embossing Powder.
Inked with Memento Lulu Lavender &
SU Calypso Coral.
Added foam squares for dimension.
My big butterfly is from Spellbinders
and cut from lavender metallic paper.
The 'with love' is cut from the same paper
and is Spellbinders Sentiment 3.
Finished off with random pearls in
lavender and ivory on my butterfly.

I am sure you will love playing with these
beautiful colours so I look forward to
checking out Our Blog  - that is
after you have been inspired by all the
other beautiful cards created by
our Guest Angie and the Design Team.
You are never disappointed are you?
And you know that by joining is
you have the chance to be chosen as
Chic of the Week and could be
Guest Designer for June.

Thanks so much for dropping in and
it is always lovely to read your comments.

Hello Friend!

It has been a long time since I have played
with a challenge over at
as family health issues have kept me quite busy.
I think everything is about back to normal as it can be
so I am finally back at The House.
Now I HAD to make time for this challenge
because my Cyber Scottish Sister Cheri is Hosting her
'Who Let the Dogs Out' Challenge' and
this card was made for her.

Now when I make my cards for The House I always try
and make them with Repeat Impression Stamps.
I wasn't worried this time as I knew I wanted to use
my Scottie dog die my Hubby bought for me
and of course add tartan paper.
Then I remembered a stamp I purchased from
a win I had over there some time ago - hence the
Friend sentiment - You Cling Set
***
Here is how I made this card.
I have used black/re and white card stock.
The Scottie dog (Marianne Designs LR0339)
was cut from black card stock as I wanted
him to be white. I heat embossed a piece
of card stock in white to give a rough textured look
and glued the black cs to it. A shame you can't see the effect.
The frames were cut from Spellbinders Hexagons
Tartan paper is Boofle which a girlfriend brought back
for me when she was in London.
I gave my Scottie a tartan collar and of course a dog
needs a bone so have added several and inked
for effect. I have used foam squares for layering.
The flourishes on the corner finished it off nicely
I thought and are from Inspired by Stamping.

Thanks so much for dropping in.

A Little HELLO card.

I found this lovely colour challenge
over at
and thought I would play.

I had made several backgrounds before this one but they
weren't quite right so decided to heat emboss
this stamp from Urban Stamps
Beautiful -  Lepidopterology (big word)
with white embossing powder and then
inked up the background with
SU Melon Mambo - stained fingers and all
Yo Yo Yellow and Calypso Coral and popped.
My 'Hello' is from Lawn Fawn cut twice
and heat embossed for gloss.
Finished with a few Snow Pearls from Kaisercraft.

That's it for me for a few days as I am heading off
to spend a few days with my Sister in Law at the
Sunshine Coast - in Sunny Queensland.

Thanks for dropping in.
I love reading your comments so don't be shy!

A Birthday Card for the 'Fix it Man'

I did say in an earlier post I was going to play again with the
Sketch Challenge over at
and decided to go with a Male Theme.

I have had these tool dies from Marianne Designs
for ages and hadn't yet used them so I thought
they would be perfect for this Sketch.
I used red & orange card stock for my
base and matting - also using the orange for
a few of the tools.
I inked them all to give a worn look and
included the silver embossing and the
DP from Farmhouse Paper Co.
I just love the shoe marks - a great touch I thought.
The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

I really enjoyed getting away from girly cards.
We never seem to have many male cards in our stash
so this is one to add to my collection.
Hubby's birthday is a little way off so this will
come in handy when that time comes.

Thanks for dropping in.
