Happy Mother's Day

Maria is Hosting our Word Week at Just Us Girls
and has chosen one that
I am sure is close to all our Hearts.
Mother's Day is a very Special Day for me as I get to
spend it with one of my Daughters. It is a yearly
get together as we fly north to the Sunny Tropics to
celebrate that Special Day and
2 of my Grandchildren's Birthdays.
Here is my 'Mother Card'

I love the big flower from SU's Fifth Avenue Floral
and that is my choice as a feature
using Brusho's Rose Red. I heat embossed it
in white before colouring.
Card base is kraft. Added some torn green paper
behind the Inspired by Stamping DP.
Leaves are cut from a Kaisercraft die.
Added a few pearls and ribbon to finish.

I would like to Welcome our May Guest Designer Kathie Durgan.

Check out Our Blog to see what
Kathie and the Designers have created
and come join us this week.
You could be our next Chic of the Week.
Thanks for dropping in

A REALLY cas brightly coloured card.

Once again I am drawn to the gorgeous colours for
Game #89 at AAA Cards
Don't you just love them!
Well I do as this is my second card.
My first card is Here
***
Now this one is reeeeeeeeeeeeely clean & simple
only taking a short time to put together.
Off course I had some fabulous stamps to use
making my card simple and striking.
The stamps I used are
preview-flutterzenrowstmp1060.jpegSheryRuss_TrendyButterflies2-preview
I inked my background stamp with
Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers/Squeezed Lemonade
Wilted Violet and Festive Berries.
My butterflies and sentiment were heat embossed in black.
Added some scoring for interest and mounted
my card on black card stock.
Here is a close up of the embossing.

I am popping this card over to
Card Mania for their Life is Colourful Challenge
and the

STAMPlorations Anything Goes Challenge

I have a card class coming up to try the new
and exciting TH Oxide Inks - can't wait.

That's it for me for now - till next time

It IS Bright AND Beautiful

Once more I found myself playing with my new addiction.
Over at AAA Cards there is beautiful mood board
which just screams Brusho's to me.
All the details for this challenge are Here.

I picked up on as many colours as I could and
just had to include feathers to my card.
I cut out a feather die from SU Four Feathers to use as a mask
and then added my Brusho's spritzing lightly
and waited for the magic to work.
I then decided to add more to my background
with some dots from SU Timeless Textures.
My feather was then inked with TH Evergreen Bough
and then cut and placed where my mask was.
Inked the edges in TH Black Soot and Inka Gold
including inside and Blue Moonstone Sparkle Medium.
The Inka Gold was also randomly placed on the
background and the stitched edges.
The Hello die is from STAMPlorations
and again  inked with gold.
How often are we tempted to just add a little something?
In keeping with the CAS Challenge this couldn't happen.
Instead of popping different elements here I went
all flat and kept some white space. Hope I didn't overdo it!
Hope you enjoyed my take on the Bright & Beautiful Challenge.

Card Mania - Details are Here for their

It's Always Tea Time!

Hosting this weeks Challenge at
Just Us Girls is Judge Judy
(sorry had to say it)
choosing an old favourite and one
I haven't done for some time.
It's
A little while ago I bought the
Tea Cup Stack from Poppy Stamps
which I think makes for a good way to use this technique.
It is a little tricky with all the tiny pieces
but I managed to keep them all together after
cutting then mixing and matching
the different papers picked from my box of scraps.
My card base is white which was then randomly stamped with
TH Spun Sugar with one of the stamps from
preview-SheryRuss_AlwaysTeaTime
My sentiment is also from that set.
I cut 2 Sizzix Framelits tags - one for the back (with DP)
and the other white for my tea cups.
These were popped in front of the
stitched die cut paper backed
with paper to match.
Finished with some knotted variegated cotton on my tag.

This is the last week for our April Guest Laurie
so pop over and see what she has created
with the rest of the Team and come join us
 for this fun challenge.
Thanks Laurie for showing us a small part
of your talent this month.

# I will pop this card over at The Cuttlebug Mania Blog Spot
for their A Cuppa Challenge

Anything Goes at 'The House'

It's Anything Goes time at The House that Stamps Built
Details are Here

I'm still playing with my Brusho's and decided on the
Lime Green which I know comes out with lots of yellow -
perfect for my Daffodil flower (904W) from Repeat Impressions.
A pretty simple card using black card stock, brusho's
and my RI Daffodils.
Corner rounded and adding my sentiment
which is from STAMPlorations finishing
with a bit of spritzing.

That's it for now - till next time

and my featured butterfly is heat embossed on vellum from
I have used stitched dies on all layers.

'tis a Merry Christmas

The current Christmas Challenge at Happy Little Stampers is

Details are Here and I will link this card
to the above Challenge.
This is also going over to a newbie -
The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge  for Challenge #4
It's an Anything Christmas Goes.
***
I had this reindeer die cut left over from last year
so thought it timely to use before it got squashed.
I heat embossed it with gold a couple of times
and popped it up in front of my
Tim Holtz Holiday Knit stencil which was
painted with gold coloured paste.
This was then framed with a white stitched die piece of cs.
My base is heavy duty gold metallic card stock.
***
I am really enjoying the fun of making
Christmas cards throughout this year.
I won't get caught out again!
Thanks for dropping in. Love reading your comments.

Pick a Holiday Theme at Hiding In My Craft Room

The Theme this week is Any Holiday.
I got to choose my image above from
The Paper Shelter called Sweet Gardener
sponsoring this week's Challenge
with the winner receiving a $15 Gift Certificate.
***
Now there just happened to be a pre coloured digi
(my kind - as colouring human images scare me)
Sure made my card making so much easier - and
probably a whole lot better.
DP used for my background is from
Sugar & Spice - Spring Garden
and that is the Holiday Theme I used
as I am sure there is a Spring Time Holiday
some time or other right!
We do have a huge Spring Garden Celebration
where I used to live and the gardens there
are truly breathtakingly beautiful..
My sentiment matches the flowers perfectly
and is from STAMPlorations
DP's used were from Kaisercraft Floral Delight
Other products I used are
Stitched Die
MS Leaves
EK Success punch
SU Petite Petals
Kaisercraft Pearl
Tim Holtz Abandoned Coral

Thanks for dropping by today
Love reading your comments.

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

and Hosting is our Crafty Chris choosing
this gorgeous photo
What inspired me?
Funny but one of the first things I noticed
was the map in the background showing
Great Britain in bright pink.
So that is the one colour I picked up on and choosing to
emboss a part of my background with a
Couture Creations embossing folder sponged with
SU Yo Yo Yellow to match the carpet.
My floral image is from SU Bloom With Hope
again inked with Yo Yo Yellow & adding Melon Mambo
resulting in a few different colours for effect.
This was heated embossed with Ranger Black Powder.
Added some black glitter to the centre.
Leaves are from Kaisercraft
A strip of black & silver paper
and the same cotton were added to the back.
I inked up leaves in Memento London Fog
and sentiment is from the above stamp set.
Added some splatters for interest.

I am sure you will want to join us with
such a gorgeous photo to inspire you. Hope so.
Don't forget to pop over and see what
our April Guest Laurie and the Jugheads created.

Taking 'Time Out' to Fly

I have taken some 'Time Out' to play at the
Current Challenge over atTime Out
which is this beautiful Home Sweet Home Inspiration Photo.
Details are Here

I couldn't resist but time is short as I am heading off
tomorrow to catch up with a family milestone birthday.
So I went cas with my card.
What do you see when you look at those butterflies in flight?

Of course I saw those beautiful multi coloured butterflies
and the tiny die cut heart.
preview-flutterzen2layeringdies
and was my choice of butterflies.
These were cut from a sheet of card stock
from spritzed Brusho's Rose Red.
They co-ordinate with the STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies 2
which I stamped lightly on the popped up top of my card
and stenciled with ARTplorations Rows of Hearts

preview-web-stencil-049-rowsofheartsSheryRuss_TrendyButterflies2-preview
I finished my card with a few pearls and a cut out sentiment
which is also from the above stamp using a left over piece
of Brusho coloured paper.

I will pop this over to the
for a chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate Here
and of course I would love to win this challenge
with generous prizes from Shery at STAMPlorations.
I could then delete a few items from my Wish List LOL

Thanks so much for dropping in
