Be 'Thankful'

Hello Crafty Friends! What's in store today?
It's Saturday which means it's Just Us Girls Challenge Day.

Hosting this weeks Word Challenge is Maria
choosing a very appropriate word THANKFUL.

I know it has only been a few weeks since you saw this
Rubbernecker Poppy Stamp here BUT I love it and again it is
close to our Remembrance Day in Australia.

Why is this date so Special?
Armistice Day is on 11th November and is also known as Remembrance Day.
It marks the day World War One ended,
at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, back in 1918.
A two-minute silence is held at 11am to remember the people who have died in wars.

Just this time it isn't (but it should be) a Red Poppy!
I thought I would try using Tim's Oxide Inks
in Dusty Concord & Wilted Violet
What an unusual result! Once again I offset it.
Added some splatters from Purple Brusho's.
I cut this out with a scallop stitched die and popped.
Added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the centre of the flowers.

So that's it for me for today.
Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog
to see what our November Guest Trina Pham
and the Jugheads created.
I'm sure you will find time to play
and show us your 'Thankful' creations.

By the way! The Jugheads are taking December off so
those chosen as a Chic of the Week  in November
will be in the running for 2 Guest Spots when we
come back rested and raring to go again in January.

  6. LOVE what you have done with that stamp. I don't think to use Oxides to stamp - I will have to try it out. I love the look here. And thanks for explaining Remembrance Day. We happen to have Veteran's Day on November 11th each year. I will have to see why they picked that date....maybe for the same reason. Your card is just lovely!
