Creative Chaos for Creative Artiste MM

Well the heading says it all!
Welcome to my 'finally finished' project for
this month's challenge at

I thought I had chosen something simple
and make another Mixed Media with a DVD!
Wrong!
I added gesso to my dvd then lots of colours
with a mix of sprays/powders then -
it all went wrong after that.
I wanted to add some black text.
I used a stencil and that landed up the
biggest mess so of course I wiped what I could
off and all the lovely shimmery colour went with it too
so for some shine I added some clear rock candy.
Next mistake was the wrong colour spray so wiped that
and found I had a nice coloured cracked background.
To diffuse the darkness I stenciled randomly
with white texture paste. This then gave me the chance
to add text but this time stamping with Archival Ink yay!
I am thinking at this stage I am going to salvage this.
Had a play around with my dream weaver chipboard
adding umteen different colours to try and blend in with
my background. It needed a backing which I was happy with -
after more stenciling/inking. Decided I needed yet more using
Stampendous Embossing enamel but the bluey speckles
didn't front (darn) but looked okay with the bronze.
Still needing more I added some
white and coloured cheesecloth. Added a big gem
and a sentiment sticker from Tim Holtz to
finally have something finished just in time
to add with my Talented Team Mates creations at
As I wasn't sure it would really turn out I
didn't take progress photos as they may have just been binned!
Here's a few close ups!

There you have it! A bit chaotic but I
got there in the end. Sure hope you don't
have any issues when you create yours for
this month's challenge. See you over in the Gallery.
Thanks for taking time to visit.
