Once again it is time for our Anything Goes
Mixed Media Challenge at
It's always fun to move away from card making and
get into the Mixed Media Zone and play.
You never know how your project will finish.
While my friend was here recently we bought a few dies
and to our surprise the butterfly above was
way bigger than we thought. You could say
we didn't look at the size did we!
Worked out nicely for my MM project though.
I thought I would go softer on the colours this time round
as I do love Tim's Speckled Egg.
Here's the how and products I used with some progress photos!
Background is coloured with Lindy's Magical's
Distress/Oxide inks and Ken Oliver Metals.
Added circles from Dutch Doobadoo stamping by Kaisercraft
and stencilling with AALL&Create Cracked Walls with grit paste.
Inked die cuts adding Stampendous
Aged Copper Enamel and adhering to background.
Die cut THAT big butterfly with heavy weight paper.
I loaded up the die with Tim's Speckled Egg,
Lindy's Magical's and Stampendous
Aged Copper Enamel around the edges
and centre of the butterfly.
Added extra colour with AA waxes of
Rich Copper and Peacock.
Cheesecloth was added to the background
before attaching the popped butterfly.
Undecided as to a sentiment if it needed one.
Adhered to coloured card base to complete.
Head over and see what magical mixed media
has been created by our Guest Anita and my
Talented Team Mates to Our Blog
for your pleasure. We would love to see you
get creative and add your mixed media piece.
using multiple mediums to the Gallery.
Thanks for taking time out to
check out what I have been up to.
Ina this is spectacular, loving that BIG butterfly and the colour way you chose, I especially like the edges that resemble specks of rust, the creamy backgrounds really sets it off. So many possibilities for a die cut that big.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will have many hours of creativity with it.
Happy Crafty August Hugs Tracey xx

ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous Ina - I adore those colours. I love the addition of that cheesecloth too - that's something I need to get some of. x
ReplyDeleteIna, that's an awesome showcase of the huge butterfly--you've made it so gorgeous! I love everything in your mixed media piece, the background and the colors included.
