Be Unique - Be Strong

Welcome to my post with my October project for

It's always fun getting a little inky, using products in my stash
and adding layers and fun sentiments.
I was going to use a canvas but what I wanted to make
didn't fit either size so went with watercolour paper
adhered to cardboard backing for strength.
It all began with my AB Studio stencil
adding sand grit texture paste. When dry I sponged with
Tim's Hickory Smoke. Then coloured with Crackling Campfire
and some splatters
Die cut and inked up for my first layer.
then dulled the colour with Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink
and adding some splatters. Deciding to only use two.
With the leftover ink I die cut a frame for my second layer,
smooching, stamping, more splatters
and inking the edges.
oops! forgot to take photo of the stamping
My main feature came in handy as it was
a 'spare' left over from another make.
It is Tim's leaf die coloured with an abundance of
Lindy's Magical's, sprays and powders.
Adding another element with a favourite of mine -
inked cheesecloth.
Die cuts and frame were popped,
finishing with inking the main background
and smooched sentiments from
AALL&Create.

Mixed Media can be daunting but
it is a lot of fun so I urge you to just
have a go and play around with whatever you have
and see what results you achieve.
You may surprise yourself .

Hope to see your efforts in our Gallery.
Go check out what our Guest Majda and the Team
created for inspiration in our own Mixed Media Style.

  3. Ina great minds think alike again - we've used the same fab Tim Holtz leaves - love your project and that gorgeous touch of orange behind the leaf. I need to learn to leave more white space!
