A Day to Scrap - GOING HOME Layout.

I finally got back into doing some scrapbooking thanks to the

Scrapbook Challenge 20 - 06/20/13

over at http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/ this week.

Our challenge is an Anything Goes but we must use stamps on our page.

I must admit I had started on this layout and has been on the
to finish list for a little while.
My card making seemed to have overtaken lately.
But not yesterday. It was a dreary cold wintery rainy day
 - perfect to get my head in and finish my layout.

This will be the last double page of my
Homecoming Scotland Trip
I took with my sister/husband my niece and cousin.

I stamped the top page with a Kaisercraft travel stamps and
the bottom with a grunge stamp from Tim Holtz.
Added lots of memorabillia from the airline we flew with.
Photos were taken at Heathrow and Dubai Airports.

Hope you like it and Thank You for visiting.

which was spritzed with SU Rich Razzleberry.
Top dies used were - Floral Ovals Opulant Ovals and Radiant Rectangles.
Inked the Repeat Impressions Stamp Flowering Vine 4314 -K
in Rich Razzleberry. Finished with a Carl punched flower and Liquid Pearls.

It's a new Colour Challenge over at The Outlawz

It is Colour Challenge time again over at The Outlawz.
As you may know I was recently asked to be on the
Design Team for the Colour Challenge Group.
Each week one of the Design Team gets to choose the colour palette and twist.
This week was my turn and below is what I came up with.
I loved the soft colours of these roses  - a perfect colour combination.
Of course there is always a twist and I love layering  - so there too is my Twist.

Again our generous sponsor is

Here is what I made

I used a creamy pearl paper throughout embossing the background and sponging in pink and apricot ink for the first layer. The second layer I used a MS punch attaching my own apricot ribbon to it - second layer then added one of my favourite Spellbinder dies - the poinsettia cut out with mottled dp.
The leaves are also from the cream card stock - more layers.
Added a bit of glitter with a gel pen to the centres of the flower and leaves
and finished off with a pearl brad and a tag with sentiment from GinaK

Hope you get a chance to pop over to The Outlawz and check out all the
different challenges there - one for every day of the week
and also see what the other talented Ladies from the
Colour Challenge have made for inspiration.

Thanks for popping in to see my work. I  appreciate you taking the time to do so.

Outlawz Challenge Cards

It is that time of the week and I have made a couple of cards for the current challenges over at The Outlawz

This weeks CAS challenge is 'Pillow Fight' - all about Feathers
so my card is really CAS

As you can see it is really just that.
I have used black and orange card stock for the base.
I cut out a circle to use as a mask and coloured the white card stock with
Memento Peanut Brittle
The swan image is from GinaK as is the sentiment.
The swirl is one from my stash.
I finished off my card with a gold gel pen
around the swan to give it a bit of shineand there you have it.

I am a Guest Designer this month for the Greeting Challenge and
here is what I have made for that one.

We had to create a Wedding or Anniversary project in gold or silver.

What I used -
Cream card stock MS punch Spellbinders Labels 20
Kaisercraft pearls and own ribbon
Sentiment is from GinaK

I am also on the Design Team for their Colour Challenge
and this week our colours and twist were chosen by Roxann

and Ursula posted this challenge which is sponsored by

I made a CAS card for this one as I had been away on holiday for a few weeks.

I used the Honeycomb Embossing Folder from SU with Spellbinders Labels 20
some ribbon from Kazazz and added a little bit of bling.

Thanks for coming over to check out my latest cards.

Creating with Dragonflies Challenge 2 UPDATE

After a LONG train trip I am home and back to catching up on DT duties.
As I said in the previous post I tried to upload my page for our
Crafting with Dragonflies Challenge 2

from my tablet while on holidays but was unable to do so.
so here is what I made...

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is

and I chose to use their rose tag digi image as part of my layout
and added to it a bit of bling and a centre rhinestone.
I started my layout with a base of white then topped it with blue and pink paper.
I tore a few of the edges to give it an "old feel"
The main design paper is from Grace Taylor's Family Time.
The butterflies are from Marianne Designs
and the bird and flower are Cherry Lynn Designs.

Both photos were taken when we still lived in Scotland.
I am the youngest of the 3 girls in the photos.

I cut out the letters - My Mother with my cuttlebug and
the alphabet I used is Hippie Chick.
I used a MS punch for the bottom edging of the backing mat.

Hope you like what I have made and inspired you to make a page
for the "Special Mother" in your life
and enter it in our latest challenge.

Till next time again thanks for popping in - Ina.

Now let the fun begin.

The Design Team have been busy this last month making you some
fabulous cards for inspiration.
Fitting for our First Challenge - you are asked to make a card with a
DRAGONFLY.

Perhaps you don't have a stamp or image you can use - Hilda has thought of that and would be pleased if you used her Free Dragonfly Image

I made a few cards and couldn't decide which one I like the best
so I am posting them all.

This is the first one...

This was a simple card using matching designer paper and popped the Glittered
The sentiment is from Gina K Assorted Greetings and finished of with a few pearls.

My Second

I had recently purchased the embossing folder (Honeycomb) at the back from SU so was eager to try it out.
The dragonfly stamp is an Animal Spirit Stamp and I stamped 2 images. The first one I inked before embossing and then popped the second one on top after heat embossing it. Added some twine and button. The small stamped flowers on the embossed paper is from SU Beyond the Basics and sentiment from
Gina K's Stippled Nature.

This photo just shows the dragonfly was popped.

and last

Again I was playing with my new SU embossing folder. I inked the background from SU Vintage Vogue in  Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. The main flowers are also from the same stamp set and inked in Rich Razzleberry. I cut out a few small scraps of DP for the back of the popped centre image. The dragonfly stamp is from Hampton Art and I used a gel pen to add some sparkle. The flower centres are glittered.

Please pop over to the our other Designers
to see what lovely cards they made for you to be inspired by.

and Tania

Thanks Ina.

A quick upload.

This weeks challenge over at The Outlawz Sketch Challenge HERE
there is a nice simple one so I thought I would go ahead and have a play with it.
Since I am now on the Design Team for their Colour Challenges
I can no longer enter my cards for any of their fabulous prizes.
This doesn't stop us entering our cards for any of the other Challenges they have
and I had a bit of fun putting my simple sketch card together.

I also noticed that over at http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/
their Simple Salutations Challenge 42 is
Spring is Here and you needed to create anything that came to mind for spring like flowers or showers that bring May flowers.

This is the stamp set for the Winner of this Challenge.
What a fabulous Male Stamp this would be to win.

Here is the card I made for both these challenges.

As I said it is a simple card using designer paper Spellbinder dies - Lotus in white and Floral Ovals in black. The single flower is a Memory Box die called Fuchsia Sprig. Added some multi coloured twine to the back and rhinestones to the corner and centre of flower.

Thanks for looking. Ina.

The Latest Colour Challenge over at The Outlawz and Blog Candy Reminder

Hello again - and welcome back to my blog.

The latest colour challenge over at The Outlawz is up and below was our colour combination and twist for this week chosen for us by DT member Penny. Aren't they lovely?

Our sponsor for this month is Digi My World
and the winner will receive a $10 gift certificate.

Here is what I made.

I love to do a bit of distressing so I did that around the edges of the coloured card stock and designer paper. I inked up one of my favourite SU stamp sets - Vintage Vogue with Versa Colour Olive for the leaves and Magenta for the flowers.
I ghosted the top flower to make it lighter.
I spritzed lightly over parts of the flowers added Avocado liquid pearls
to the centre of the small flowers and a brad smudged with silver
on the popped bigger flower.
The sentiment is from Gina K's Assorted Greetings here.

and A REMINDER

that there is blog candy on offer at Crafting with Dragonflies

There really is some awesome goodies to be won here.
This is a new challenge blog and I am excited to be part of the TEAM.

the WINNER of the candy.

You can't win it if you aren't in it.

Our 1st challenge will go live on 1st May Sydney time Australia.
