We're Trending this week at Just Us Girls

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls
and Sue is Hosting.
She has picked one of my favourites
Vellum.

I have seen a number of cards similar to my card on Pinterest
and have always wanted to make my version.
This was a perfect time to do so.

I started my card with kraft card stock as my base
then added navy and turquoise paper.
I used Stampin' Up Inspired by Nature stamp set for
my background flower that I inked with
Memento Paris Dusk spritzed with water and
stamped onto turquoise paper.
Sponged a little ink on the centre of the flower.
The stems (from the same stamp set)
are heat embossed on vellum in white
and roughly torn for effect.
I cut out 2 butterflies from a Cherry Lynn die -
one in white and the second (a little hard to see) in vellum.
Added a few small punched circles on the body and
 a touch of Stardust Stickles.
Continued with some white brads
and navy ribbon.
The sentiment is from Gina K Designs
and cut from McGill Vintage Label Punch.

Stampin' Up and cut out with
Spellbinders Circles after I cut a
larger one as backing.
The butterflies and background DP are from
an Oriental Paper Pack.
Also used are -

Anything Goes at 'The House'

It's ANYTHING GOES at The House that Stamps Built

So where do I start?
I had a look through my Repeat Impression Stamps
and decided I needed to use this new butterfly
so in doing so I kept my card cas.
The butterfly was inked in orange then
heat embossed in clear powder to give it shine.
I love the Spellbinders hexagons
which I popped and inked the edges
The paper was on my desk as a spare
 using the shaving cream technique.
I decided it was a good match.
I have used white and kraft card stock
Also a little stencilling a touch of stamping
from Stampin' Up Beyond the Basics
The sentiment is also Stampin" Up Pocket Silhouettes
Butterfly is Repeat Impressions #107
Finished with some bling - pearls gemstones
and some orange dots.
I am hoping time permits so I can make another
card for this challenge.

That's it for now as I am off to play!

Memento Pistachio and the vase again
and fussy cut from scrap DP
The 3 flowers were also stamped again on
3 different scraps.
Added different centres to the flowers.
The vase has 2 pearls attached.
The background is from a Stampin' Up
Embossing folder from unknown DP

cut out from Spellbinders Ovals and backed by
Scalloped Ovals and popped.

It's WORD WEEK at Just Us Girls

Maria is our Hostess for our WORD week at
and she has chosen Autumn.

I had already made a card for this challenge
(See Below)
but decided to play around with the
colours of Autumn so I got out my Gelatos
and had a play.
I tried various colours and placements
before  deciding on the one above.
I wet my Gina K stamp - Fall Foliage
then smeared various colours onto it before
stamping on my white card stock.
The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions
Beautiful Days Stamp Set.
Added some sequins and a rhinestone to match
my leaf colours. Also inked around the edge
and spritzing various colours to the top.

I have this lovely Tree Stamp so I decided to
feature that with a touch of Autumn Coloured Inking.

Using basic black and white card stock
and gold paper as a backing.
I simply cut out an oval from Spellbinders to mask.
Inked with Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany/Dried Marigold
Stampin' Up Yo Yo Yellow
The tree is Spring Tree - 1610W from
Repeat Impressions
and heat embossed in black
Sponged the masked colours with Stampin' Up Champagne Mist
Sentiment is a simple one from Gina K Designs
Added some coloured cottons
button and rounded one corner to finish.
If you haven't already popped over to our Blog
please do so as there is a whole bunch of
Talented Ladies there to showcase their
Autumn inspired cards.

Christmas is Coming but DON'T PANICK!

There are a couple of challenges I made this card for and they are
#255 Sandy's Sketch Challenge
and over at
 they are looking for an
O for Off the Edge
(hope my card qualifies)
not forgetting
with your 1 favourite colour
and those that check out my blog
regularly know that...
it is PURPLE
because thistles have purple
popping out the top and I just love them.
(My Scottish Heritage)
***
I decided because I could enter a card in a few challenges
I put my favourite thistle stamp away for this one.
***
So here is what I used
Paper is Pearlescent Textured card stock
I added an extra layer to the base with the same paper
and attached some Just Craft Glitter paper to the side.
Got out another favourite item
Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia for my glittery flower.
My tag is from Kaisercraft Tags and attached
some silver glittery ribbon
EK Success punch in the corner and cut out
an extra piece of glitter paper to add to the cut out piece.
Sentiment is from Gina K Designs  cut from
a JustRite Banner Die
Added a few gemstones
and a sparklet to the flower.
***
Well that is another Christmas card to add to my collection.

Hope you like what I made and would love it if you
leave a comment.

Throwdown Colour Challenge #352

A few days ago I uploaded a card for the
and wasn't completely happy how it photographed.
I loved the colour combination so much I decided to
make another one.
Here is the colour throwdown.

I used the grey card stock as my base and again
on my featured stamping.
I popped that after inking around the edges.
The main image is stamped with Stampin' Up Vintage Vogue
(one of my first SU stamps and an old favourite)
The inks I used were Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers/Iced Spruce
and fussy cut. Also popped a few of the flowers for depth.
The leaf flourish behind it is from
Kaisercraft Vines
Fern from Martha Stewart punch
I inked the bottom (from the same stamp set)
with Memento London Fog which gave it
the darker colour.
Popped my Gina K sentiment on
Kaisercraft Shapes Die
Added some gemstones a few extra
small punched flowers with Liquid Pearls
 in the centre to finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope your day is a Happy One.

Case ing Alice at Time Out

Over at Time Out Challenges the current challenge is to
CASE Alice.

Below is her card.

What inspired me about Alice's card?
It was the main feature on the side (isn't it cute) and the
big sentiment finished off with a few little embellishments
so I tried to incorporate that in my card.
I like having items off centre
and this card really suited my style.
***
In a previous posting I used my Stampin' Up
Four Feathers stamps/dies and since I hadn't
put them away they just beckoned me
to be used again.
Started my card with a white base
and hot pink as backing.
I used a couple of my favourite colours
from Stampin' Up
Baja Breeze and Melon Mambo
Tim Holtz Iced Spruce
and Memento London Fog for my
background and feathers.
The background was stencilled with
Tim Holtz Speckles and
Clear Scraps Chevron
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping
Big Wishes 2
The crazed stamped image on the
right hand side is from Prima Marketing.
I liked the little coloured embellishments
Alice added so I attached a few gemstones
for a bit of shine and finished
with a button and cotton to my feathers.

Thanks for dropping in so till next time

I just loved the colour of those chairs so decided

I used a white ripple card stock as my base
and then framed my scene with colours from the photo.
I used the following items on my card -
White card stock
Orange/Aqua paper
For the scene I used Repeat Impressions Stamps
3415Chair/3412Birds
Cut out a second one and inked with Memento Potter's Clay
Also used Memento Summer Sky and Pistacchio
Tim Holtz Dried Marigold
Sentiment and Reeds from Gina K Designs

Colour Throwdown #352

Here I am again with a card I made for the
new challenge at Colour Throwdown and I am
loving the colours and the little bucket for inspiration.

I am really disappointed with how my card
didn't photograph well at all. I tried all sorts of
things but nothing came close to just how nice
the colour combination matched.
I have used white card stock and found this
gorgeous iridescent green card stock for my
backing that just matches the green perfectly.
I got out my Stampin' Up Four Feathers
die/stamp and inked on white & grey paper
with Memento London Fog. The bigger feather is
inked with Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers and I
also inked one in Vellum
The background was made by inking an acrylic block
with Peacock Feathers & Memento New Sprout
and stamped onto my card stock.
I backed that by popping it to a scored border.
Added a button and some variegated cotton
Again I was disappointed how my sentiment
isn't as clear as it should be. I used
Spellbinders Sentiments 6.

Thanks for dropping in and hope you will
come back soon.

Challenge #228 at Try Stampin' On Tuesday

The new sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday
is a real easy one Thanks to Sarah.
As you can see below I made mine ever so easily.

Here is Sarah's Sketch

Not too much explaining about this card. I have made several
using this Marianne die - LR0139
and similar to this sketch
so it was pretty easy for me to do again.
I have used a pearl patterned paper as my base
gold as a backing
also a shimmery pink which I cut out from
Spellbinders - Opulant Ovals
Used own ribbons and a few pearls.
I just love this Lady as she is so elegant.

So there you have it.
Hope you will pop over to our blog
and see what the other Designers created.

Till next time

Time to Colour at Just Us Girls

Our Super Talented Sharyn is Hosting our
Colour Challenge this week and has chosen
one with such bright and inviting colours.
Does it remind you of those All Day Suckers that
used to be so popular or am I showing my age?
My card was super simple to make
because I found some brightly coloured DP in my stash
(perfect match) and went with it.

I started my card with a white base then topped it with bright pink
scrapbooking paper then attached my coloured paper
The Happy Birthday is a new Sentiment Die
I bought at a recent Craft show
and is from Impression Obsession.
Added some multi coloured cotton and tied a bow, a variety of
different coloured gems and a Sizzix butterfly to finish.

And there you have it - my
Brightly Coloured Birthday Card.

Don't forget to pop over HERE
and see what inspired the DT and
our July Guest Linda Beeson
See you there!

I'm Flying High for the Inspiration Challenge at The House

I am loving the new Inspiration challenge over at
The House that Stamps Built.
You can see all the details Here

There are 2 gorgeous photos to inspire us but I chose the one below.

I just happened to have some hot air balloon stamps
so it was time to get them out and ink them up.
I am even lucky enough to have recently added
the tiny bird stamp from Repeat Impressions
to my collection. How cool that I got to use it here.

I love trying to make scenes and of course with hot air balloons
that is exactly what I needed to do.
I masked both sides of my card to just have
a small part as the scene.
The hot air balloons were given to me by a friend
and I don't know who they are from.
Added the clouds in Memento Sky Blue
the grass mound in Memento Pistachio
The Birds (Repeat Impressions 3412) and the small balloon
are inked with Tim Holtz Broken China
The larger one I used Memento Love Letter.
I also used Spellbinders Circles/Lacey Circles
The sentiment (sorry it is too light
and too scared to reink even though I would
used my stamp a ma gig )
is from Hampton Art.
The grass from Gina K Designs.

Hope you liked my little scene - look so inviting.
My daughter was lucky enough to go up in a
hot air balloon while on holiday to Africa.

So that is it for now.
Thanks for stopping by.

Colour Throwdown Challenge #351

I found the most gorgeous colour challenge over at
and it has my favourite colour combination

Don't you just love it!
Best of all I got to use my most favourite stamp.

Being a Scot I love thistles and some years ago
while visiting my Homeland I bought the stamp
that is on this card.
I tried different ways to highlight it but came up with
the shaving cream technique.
I heat embossed the stamp which is from Heritage Stamps
in black after I had fun playing with the
shaving cream. My craft room smells nice again.
I used Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry and
Pink Food Colouring for my 2 colours.
Here are the other products I used -
White & Black card stock
Black embossing powder
Spellbinders  Petite Ovals/Scallop Ovals
and Labels 18
Best Wishes is cut from a Cherry Lynn Die
Kaisercraft Pearls and Own Ribbon.
Image has been popped.

Thanks for dropping by.
I would love to read your comments.

Crafty Ribbons Bicycle Challenge

I found a new challenge recently and knew I had the perfect stamp
to enter the Bicycle with Ribbon Challenge at Crafty Ribbons

You don't often associate a bicycle with ribbon but I am really
happy how my card turned out.
I love playing around with backgrounds and getting my fingers
all inky especially when you get a great result.
I love the bright colours I used and it made the
embossed stamp really stand out.
Used several colours of card stock to match
I embossed my Stampin' Up Postage Due stamp with
black embossing powder then got inky with
Tim Holts Peacock Feathers/Bundled Sage and
Seedless Preserves
The small floral image next to my ribbon is also from
Stampin' Up - Fresh Vintage cut with
Spellbinders Square Die
Sentiment is from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps
Added  a crinkled piece of ribbon - love the look
Distressed the edges of my main image and background paper
and finished with a black pearl.

That's it for me for now so till next time
