It's Blooming PURPLE!

It's Saturday and you know that means -
New Challenge at Just Us Girls
I'm Hosting our Photo Challenge and
loved this one below on Pinterest.
Why? It's purple -  my favourite colour,
and my birthday coming up.
But my card is for my BFF's Birthday
which is just a few days before mine.
Oh and it is Spring here so there will be
some beautiful flowers blooming soon.

A few things to mention about my card -
the majority of the dies used here
are from my early birthday package -
she knows me well - couldn't wait so got them early
and have used quite a few of them already just not all of them!
The pretty paper was from her a few years ago
and blends in perfectly - Bazzill card stock.
The three gems on the flowers were also in my package.
Of course you knew the flowers were coloured with
 Lindy's Magical's!
The background dp is from my stash, stenciled lightly.
It looked rather dull so added
Tim's Distress Glaze for a bit of sheen.
The tub is from STAMPlorations Fluttery Stamp/Die set
I cut across the top to tuck in my flowers.
Added some Art Alchemy Waxes for added colour
and finished with crochet cotton bow.

There are such beautiful cards over on Our Blog
from the Talented Loll - our September Guest
and the Amazing Girls who - like me share their creativity
with you weekly. Check them out AND
hope you join in this weeks challenge with yours.
You could be my Chic of the Week!
As it is the last Saturday in September we bid farewell
to our Super Talented Guest Loll.
It's been such a pleasure to have her share her
works of art with us this month.

Thanks for dropping in and leaving your kind comments.

Love Planted a Rose

 Welcome to today's post for
Sistah Darlene has chosen Stencils as our Theme
and it is a favourite of mine.

I had so many ideas running through my head
but in the end went quite CAS.
My background is from my bits box
with the shaving cream technique.
I stenciled the ARTplorations Rose Duet with
texture paste and let dry. I then applied a
pearl white acrylic paint mixed with iridescent medium
to give it that extra sheen, matching the
grey background.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations About a Rose.
Attached to SU great card stock.
Pop over and see some fabulous stenciling
from my Sistah's and I am sure you will
want to play and add yours to our Gallery.
Hope to see you there.

CASE-ing Chrissie

Hi there - popping in with a reminder for our
Sketch Challenge at Christmas Craft Creations

I was browsing Pinterest recently and came across a card our
Guest Designer Chrissie had made Here and realized
it's perfect for her sketch challenge so here is my 'cased' card.
Thanks Chrissie for the inspiration.

I was going to used the same colours as Chrissie
but found a lovely piece in my bits box that was a left over
using Lindy's Magical's so carefully cut out the trees
and the stitched hills.
I added snowflakes to my background,
green cotton and sentiment
then popped onto white card base.
There you have my quick cased card.
Hope you have had time to play - if not
you still have time to add to our Gallery.
Love to see you there.
Thanks for dropping in

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for Just Us Girls
It's our Photo Week and Hosting is Nancy choosing
lovely bright colours of red orange and yellow.

I thought I would get out my neglected
SU Four Feathers stamp/die set for this one -
making for an easy card with a sentiment
that really applies to these tuff times.
I used another one of my new AALL&CREATE stencils
for the background, inking with Tim's Squeezed Lemonade
then his speckles stencil with transparent matte texture paste
(a little hard to see)
The feathers are then inked with
Festive Berries, Crackling Campfire,
 Fossilized Amber and Squeezed Lemonade,
 die cut and popped.
Added some more speckles and glossy accents either side,
a sprinkling of diamond dust to the middle feather,
a red bow and sentiment from
STAMPlorations Feathery.
Adhered to red card stock and white card base.
Pop over and see how our Talented Guest Loll
and my also Talented Teamies chose to
showcase these oh so bright colours then
get cracking and add yours to our Gallery.
You could be our Chic of the Week and
in the running to be our Guest in November.
Thanks for dropping in and leaving a comment.

Christmas Wishes for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge

Hello and Welcome to today's post for
It's always Anything Goes and here is
my make for our Latest Challenge.

I had a lot of fun with this card going a bit grungy.
Used Tim's Speckles Stencil,
 designer papers from Echo Park
and stars from Hero Arts.
Around the edges is Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders.
Sentiment is unknown.
Adhered to coloured card base.
Pop over and see what my Team Mates created

A Christmas Shaker Deer

It's Saturday and time for my post for
Just Us Girls and for her first post
Elizabeth has chosen
 Shakers for our Trend Week.

We all have cards that we tend to only do
on rare occasions and shaker cards are one of mine
but a challenge is good to get your creative juices
working in a different direction.
Thanks Elizabeth for doing just that.
I do love the ARTplorations Deer Die and
thought he would be a good character here.
I adhered some tartan paper to my white card base.
Added acetate behind the white card front
and tan paper for the deer,
then laid out my STAMPlorations Shaker Blends
with other bits that seem to have disappeared
adding mounting tape to seal. After adhering that
I found I didn't have enough sequins but
luckily I managed to pull the bottom apart and
add more. Off course I had to add splatters,
a few more sequins and finish with an eye
for my deer and sentiment from
Happy Little Stampers Christmas Joy.

Pop over and see how our September Guest Loll
and the Team had fun with and hopefully
you get to add yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in

A Simply 'Cute' Taffy Teddy

Time for our New Challenge over at
and choosing our Theme is
Sistah Aussie aNNie with a little twist to
Clean and Simple - it's Cute and Simple
so we need to see lots of 'cuties' on our simple cards.

I did have to look deep into my stamps and found
this tiny Taffy Teddy stamp that was a freebie a long long time ago.
Nice and simple with just a bit of blendng
with watercolour pencils -  something I haven't used in ages.
Rummaged through to find some coloured and designer papers
to add as a background.
The grey background has been embossed
with my good old Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and sanded.
Added some stamping/sentiment from the set
and I am done.
Pop over and see what 'cuties' my Sistah's created
and come have some fun with this super themed challenge.
Look forward to seeing you in the Gallery.

Till next time -

'tis the Season

It's time for our New Challenge over at
We have a different theme each month
and it's a Sketch this time.
Here is my make.

and here is a close up of the trees and sparkly snow.

I have been playing with one of my favourite
 Screamin' Banshee Black  Magical's Powder
lately and knew it would be just right for
a bleak but snowy Christmas Creation.
Blended nicely with Lindy's Black Orchid Silver Spray
I created my background using acetate.
Added snow with distress grit paste for texture
and sparkle from Stampendous Crystal Snow.
Tim's Great Outdoors stamp set is a festive favourite of mine
and have used that for the background trees and stars.
Die cut the front trees from the same colours
as the background and popped for dimension.
Finished with my sentiment.
Die cut the frame, attached to black card stock and
onto white base.
Pop over and see what my Team Mates created
and come have some fun with us and
add yours to our Gallery.
Hope to see you there.

A Mixed Up Recycle Make

Hello and Welcome to my Mixed Media Make for

Here is the front and back view of my
recycled cardboard creation and
as you can see -  from a beer carton.

There's not a lot to explain here just
having a fun play time with lots of
different products used and adding
as I went along - not knowing how it would
look finished.
I have used gesso as a white wash on the corrugated cardboard.
Distress grit paste always adds some nice texture.
Some grungy stamping, stenciling and
a bit of bark hiding behind my popped
smaller cardboard. There is also cheesecloth
and lots of glitter. Art Alchemy Stamps, Paints and
Waxes were added for colour.
Die cut flower is from Cherry Lynne.
Finished with a simple sentiment.
I meant to add some blue wire to hang this piece
and forgot before photographing so will  do that.

Pop over and see what my Creative Team Mates
had fun with and hope you get a chance to add yours
to our Gallery this month.
Thanks for dropping in.

Thinking of You.

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post.
Lisa is our Host this week at Just Us Girls
for our Photo Week.

Here's a close up!

What caught your eye here?
I saw all the lovely bright colours.
My background and die cuts are from
Lindy's Screamin Banshee Black
as I knew the various colours would show up nicely.
I then die cut Tim's Mixed Media Thinlits
adding a little stenciling to include
yellow there and with my ribbon.
Die cut sentiment is from Crafts4You.
Finished by attaching to white card base
with a snippet of coloured paper on the side -
something I picked up from teamie Cecile.

As it is the last week of July
it is the last post from our Guest Claire
so pop over and see what caught her eye
then on to the Team's Creations.
Always amazing makes!

PS Thank you so much for sharing
your talents with us this month Claire.

The Circus Comes to Town for a Birthday Celebration

What a fun challenge Vicki chose this time round for us at
Certainly one for the kiddies!

As I had nothing Circus-y in my stash I
went delving into blogland for something appropriate.
What is a Circus with a Clown?
I chose this fun pre coloured clown as he seemd to be saying
Happy Birthday so that is the path I took.
I inked up the number stencil
to go with the birthday theme
and adhered to a coloured back.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Pink & Maine
and cut from Spellbinder circle dies
tucked behind the numbered stencil.
Attached to bright coloured card stock.
There's some fabulous Circus Themed cards over at
Our Blog from my Talented Sistahs so
go check them out and add yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Merry Make for Christmas Craft Creations

It's Reminder time at Christmas Craft Creations
and as a bonus I have another card for your pleasure.
I saw a card I really liked over on Pinterest Here
and have cased it.

I inked my background using acetate with
Tim's Oxide Inks in Abandonded Coral and
Salvaged Patina onto watercolour paper.
Added the Lawn Fawn white heat embossed leaves
from STAMPlorations Feathery.
Die cut my vellum tag from CUTplorations Tags 1.
The Merry Die from Hero Arts Merry Stamp & Cut
was cut three times for dimension and
heat embossed with Zing Metallic Silver
and adhered to the vellum tag.
Inked the Christmas word underneath.
Added STAMPlorations Shaker Blend sequins
and tied my tag with variegated cotton from my stash.
Finished with corner rounding and
attaching to white card base.

Pop over and see how my Talented Team Mates
chose to show off their Non Traditional Coloured cards
and come join in our Gallery.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks for dropping in.

Another Merry Christmas card for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge

It's that time again for a New Challenge over at
and we have reached a Milestone #100 Challenges!

I had forgotten I had a lovely big snowflake die
from Cuttlebug and knew it would make a nice
CAS Christmas card. I die cut my topping
from some Christmas DP and again underneath
in blue to add a touch of colour.
This is when I rummaged through my embossing powders
as I knew I had one with a hint of blue and gold.
It's Wow Antlantic Seaspray -  perfect!
I die cut my snowflake twice and heat embossed
with the above powder.
Just had to finish it off with a sentiment from
STAMPlorations inked and heat embossed clear,
a big gem centred in the snowflake
and a few tiny heat embossed stars.
Pop over and see what my Team Mates
have in store for your pleasure.
Hope you are inspired to create
a Christmas card for our 100th Challenge.
Thanks for dropping in

Someone need a HUG!

Time for our new Challenge over at Just Us Girls
and it is our Colour Week.
Carol is Hosting and chose such lovely colours for us.

I was so excited when I saw that my local online craft store
had added AALL&CREATE stencils and stamps
so a couple just fell into my cart as they do
and thought it only right I should ink one up straight away.
Another CAS card with simple stenciling and
die cuts. The pink flowers were cut twice
and the heads cut again  for dimension.
A simple sentiment die cut and popped finished my card.
I have used crazed metallic paper for
texture and a nice shimmer.
Pop over and see how our Guest Claire
and the Jugheads chose to showcase
these soft colours.
Come join us with yours in our Gallery and
you could be our Chic of the Week and
a future Guest.
Thanks for dropping in

It's CASimply Black and White

It's Saturday and Trend Week at Just Us Girls Challenge
Vicki is Hosting and chose BLACK and WHITE.
This called for a really CAS card.

I heat embossed the STAMPlorations Blossom Sprays 1
in black and added Nuvo Glitter Gloss to the flowers
die cut it the white frame and again in black with the bigger one.
Finished with my sentiment from
STAMPlorations Bloom Sketches.
Easy Peasy eh!
It was near impossible to photograph
trying to get the shimmer to show up but
you will all know just how nice it is IRL.
Pop over and see what our Guest Claire
and my Talented Teamies made
with this Simple Trend.
Thanks for dropping in -

Happy Birthday Wishes

It's time for our New Challenge over at
Leaf it to Chance
(use leaves on your project)

I think I have that covered!
It was a little difficult to get a good photo
as the card stock I used is a lovely metallic paper
with a pattern. I bought it a few years ago from our
local Office Supplier.
The leaves are from SU Botanical Blooms
and Sizzix Thinlits 664377 including the flowers.
Sentiment die cut using SU Avant Garden.
Pop over and see what my Sistah's created
and join us this time round in our
'Leaf it to Chance' Gallery
and we will pop in to see how
you chose to 'leaf' your creation.
Thanks for dropping in
Till next time - Cherrio from

A Pretty Poinsettia for Christmas Craft Creations

I have some exciting news for you today.
I have joined the Talented Team at

We have a monthly themed Christmas Challenge and
I was so excited when I saw what the August Theme was as I
love making Non Traditional Coloured Christmas Cards and
a favourite of mine  is kraft as you can add any colour choice.

I decided to use some patterned metallic card stock -
it's not a white white because of the sheen.
I got out my favourite Spellbinders Poinsettia dies
and cut several for layering.
Background dies are from Tim's Mini Holiday Greens
and Memory Box Quinn Flourish.
The texture plate is embossed instead of die cut.
Added Lawn Fawn Hemp Cord behind the flourish.
Of course you have to have some snowy
pearl white splatters which break the plain background.
Sentiment die is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
Finished with some pearl coloured gems
to the flower centres.
Pop over and see how my Team Mates
chose to use Non Traditional Colours on their
Christmas creations.
Why not join in with yours.
It's good to get those Christmas cards in the ready!
Thanks for dropping in.
Love reading your kind comments too.
