It's CAS Watercolour 'Fall' Leaves

I have been in somewhat of a get those Christmas Cards
made earlier this year mode
but thought I needed a change and the
new challenge over at CAS Water Colour did just that.
As soon as I saw this
I knew exactly what I wanted to make.
Because it is a cas challenge I used just one leaf.
It was cut from an old Cuttlebug Leaf Die
then added Autumn Gilding Flakes
#Hint Cut your die out using jac paper
then peal off one layer and add
your flakes. No glue to get your fingers
covered in those flakes.
I am so glad I tried this. Guess I will use those flakes
a bit more often now. They make that leaf look fabulous.
The background is simply swiped with a wet paint brush
using TH Distress Inks on canvas paper.
Added a touch of Inka Gold using Karen Dunbrook's
credit card swipe technique. Thanks Karen.
Distressed and inked the edges.
Sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers
Thinking of You heat embossed with
 Wow Metallic Platinum.
Finished with a few pearls.
I have another leaf cut out and flaked
(no sense just cutting one) so
that's for another day.

Congratulations on celebrating your 1st Birthday
Loll Bonnie and the Talented Designers.

Going to pop this over to the
where the Optional Twist is Gold.

#Update I see my card qualifies for the
Colour Me Fall Challenge over at
The Mod Squad so I am now dropping it over there.

Thanks so much for popping in today.
Love reading your thoughts!
Till next time - Cherrio

  4. That leaf is just so beautiful Ina, and is highlighted perfectly by simple background. I haven't tried the gold flakes yet but maybe I'll have to try sooner rather than later. :)
