It's Snowing...somewhere

No Crafty Ones - it isn't snowing real snow where I live
but it is on my card for the latest challenge over at
The Mod Squad and what a timely one for me.
 Check out the Details Here
I was working on another card (which you will see at a later date0
when I had a leftover piece of water colour card stock. I had some
Blue Brusho's and White Pearl Acrylic Paint on my craft mat
so not to waste it I just smooched it and thought
it would come in handy especially as
Christmas is just down the road.
Little did I know I would snap it up quickly to make my card above.
As it was only a small piece I cut out
part of my birch tree die to adhere to the front.
I recently purchased some Delta Fantasy Snow
from Happy Little Stampers. It takes ages to dry
but has little balls of snow with bits of shimmer
and looks so realistic. I added it to the bottom
on the trees and even my wee bird which is from
a very old Gina K stamp set called Snow One Like You.
I cut him out separately as he was attached to a bird cage.
He has a tiny bit of Nuvo shimmer.
inked with Memento Summer Sky.
(wish I had inked it further up)
Finished with some glitter stars.

I found a few other Challenge Sites I though
I would drop my card over to.

Hi Ina, I love all the textures in your card! That adds so much dimension and interest. Love the blues and white as well as the sparkling stars. All those soft colours and textures make a wonderful background for that brilliant red cardinal on the branch of the tree. Well planned out and very effective. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

Glad you saved that small piece of smooshed card, because it looks fantastic behind the birch tree and bird dies. That snow does look real ... very cool product! Beautiful design, Ina! xx

Super pretty card, love what you have done with the snow. And of course the star of the show is that beautiful red bird, the perfect final touch. Well done!!!

I spent time yesterday researching birch tree dies, Ina, and then I see this fabulous creation which means I definitely need one. Your little piece of smooshed paper is the perfect backdrop for them and I love seeing the red cardinals as they perch in snowy trees. One of my favorite cards you have made.

I love how you pulled this card together from a left over scrap. That's what it's all about isn't it. The creativity. This is a stunning card. I love the birch trees. Did you use the Woodland EF from Stampin' Up! or is it an actual die. Which ever, those trees really stand out with he blue in their background. Ina thanks so much for playing along with week at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge!
