Blooming on Bark

What have I got here you ask?
It's a piece of bark I picked up some time ago
when I walked down to my mailbox.

Welcome to my post for this month's
Anything Goes Mixed Media All of the Time for
The bark has virtually been sitting around for an age -
Time to do something with it.
I sealed my bark with a coat of
Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.
Stenciled the flower  from Studio Light MM19 with texture paste
and added Art Alchemy Rusty Red Wax.
Stems were inked with a black pen.
Background is a mix of AA Rusty Red and Golden Moss Waxes
Art Stones were added to the bottom for texture
and sprayed with Antique Bronze Distress Stain and waxed
again with Golden Moss.
I did try and add some glossy accent for water droplets
but didn't work out.
Sentiment was cut from thick cardboard and covered with
Art Alchemy Unicorn Hair Sparks Paint.
Word is from STAMPlorations Subway Art inked with
VersaFine Clair Fallen Leaves. The inked twine that I used
as a hanger is wrapped around sentiment.
Finished with some pebbles painted from behind
with the Sparks Paint mentioned above.

Here's a couple of close ups!

That's it for me! Don't forget to pop over and see what
The Talented Team created for your pleasure this month.
Be inspired and come join in this month's Anything Goes Challenge.
Till next time Cherrio from

'Be Brave' for Bleeding Art

Today is the day I get to show you the rest of my
'First Mixed Media Project' as part of the
New Extended Design Team at Bleeding Art

I decided to try something a little different. We all have loads of
unused cd/dvd's don't we? Why not dolly one up then.
I made this a little while ago and in the meantime my notes
on how I made this have gone missing. Lucky some of the photos
have the products I used which will help.
#Note to self - use a notebook to keep all my DT makes
together till they are blogged.
Here goes!
After covering my dvd with black gesso I stenciled
with texture paste roughing the surface slightly.
then painting with Art Alchemy Metallic Paints in
Golden Moss and Lime Peel.
Adding some some Apple of my Eye heat embossing
and Art Alchemy Waxes in Mint Sparkle and Rich Copper
to  my dvd and torn corrugated cardboard.
Added  some wire, glitter, beads and die cuts
Then to my chipboard dragonfly
After the dragonfly cracked (lol) I started adding
Art Alchemy Waxes in Fire Ruby and Mint Sparkle.
Here's a close up. Isn't it gorgeous!
There is lots of waxing over the dvd and the background die cuts.
Added my appropriate sentiment from STAMPlorations
blended to match and finishing with some ink backed pebbles.

There is sooooooooo much more
Magnificent Mixed Media Makes from
my Junkie Mates so please go over to our  Bleeding Art Blog
and see for yourself.

Off course we would all love to see
your project in our Gallery where
we're not only Mixed Media all of the time
but Anything Goes all of the time.

but wait there's more
There's even something special happening
with this month's Challenge!
With all this self isolation happening this will be
a fun way to get those kiddo's getting
messy and arty! You never know what talent
they inherited from you.

I know this was a long post and I thank you
for hanging around to the end.
Hope you enjoyed my Mixed Media Make.
Till next time -

A Mixed Media Maple Leaf Make

Hello and Welcome to my post for

This month I moved away from my usual
floral type makes and went for
a pretty maple leaf and some cogs.
Something a little less time consuming
after last months piece.
It's a 4x4 canvas sealed with gesso.
and textured with stenciling
from Little Birdie

Adding colours with Lindy's Shakers in
Magnolia Magenta Gold
Grab a Guy Gold and
Cowabunga Copper
and more stenciling with some script using
Cadence Relief Paste .
Coloured up my chipboard cogs and attached to canvas.
Also attaching my maple leaf which is from a
very old Cuttlebug Die and cut multiple times
coloured using Jolly Roger Red Alpine Rose
and Glory of the Sea Gold Sprays
Metal cogs are heat embossed with
Wow Chocolate Caramel Pearl Powder.
Added lots of waxing in
Art Alchemy Fire Ruby Royal Robes
and Rich Copper
around the canvas edges and cogs.
Coloured a few cabachons to finish.

A few close ups -

That's it for this month.
Pop over and see what my Talented Team Mates created.
Hope to see you in our Gallery.

Once more I will join in the Challenge over at
Bleeding Art for their Anything Goes Here
