It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

Our Host for this weeks challenge over at
JUST US GIRLS is MARIA
and she has chosen this gorgeous picture
And here is how it inspired me

You see I have this gorgeous stamp
Vase of Tulips 1317L from Repeat Impressions
which I just HAD to use.
I have also been playing around again with
shaving cream and getting all inky - just so happens
the colours on one of my pieces fitted in nicely.
I heat embossed the stamp on top of my
background cut it out with a
Spellbinder Oval die and then added
a scalloped border behind it.
I wanted something a little different from
just the normal card so I just folded over
one half of the front.
Added a piece of coloured card stock
embossed with Tim Holtz embossing folder
then attached my floral bunch of tulips.
To finish it off I cut out the LOVE
from a Kaisercraft die and covered it with
glossy accents and the u is
from a Cuttlebug alphabet set.
On the inside I attached a piece of
matching coloured paper and added some
flourishes and sentiment from
Inspired by Stamping.

Hop on over to see how the other Designer's
and our Guest Kathy were inspired.
Hope to see yours Here.
You could be in the running for our
Popular Chic of the Week and
maybe our Guest for June.

Thanks for stopping by.
I so love reading your comments.

Time for a 'SKETCH' at The House

Once again I am playing with one of the lovely stamps from
Repeat Impressions - Beautiful Days for the current Sketch Challenge over at

Here is the Sketch I followed.

20150421-214254.jpg

I started with the basic white card stock then topped it in yellow
which I stamped randomly with a piece of bubble wrap in
Peanut Brittle Distress Ink.
I also did the same behind the daisies in Memento Summer Sky
The DP is from American Crafts
I then framed my Daisies and Butterfly (9203-P)
after colouring it in various coloured pens from
Tim Holtz TomBow and Stampin' Up
Added a touch of Glossy Accents to the
centres of the daisies and part of the butterfly.
Finished off with some small punched daisy flowers
and a tiny piece of orange ribbon bringing out
 the colour on the butterfly.
Sentiment is from Stampin' Up Pocket Silhouettes.

I have had so much fun with the challenges over at
The House that Stamps Built this month.
***
Part of next month I will be away from home celebrating
Mother's Day with my daughter in far North Queensland
where the weather will be simply divine. I will also be
celebrating 2 of my grandchildren's birthdays so some
wonderful family time coming up.
***
I have a few DT projects scheduled so you will still
see a few posts from me.
***
In closing I would like to wish all the
MOTHER'S out there a Very Happy Mother's Day.

WIW Challenge A1515 at 'The House'

they have their WIW Photo Inspiration Challenge A1515
and all the details are Here.

and below is the Gorgeous and colourful
Inspirational Photo.

20150414-203727.jpg

I took me a while to work out how
I would make my card.
I recently bought some gelatos
and thought I would try them out.
I took my inspiration from the
bright colours and wavy  lines.
I started with black and white card stock
To that I added a mounted black frame
for my image which was made with my gelatos
a stencil and inks from
Memento/Stampin' Up and
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
The floral stamp is from
Repeat Impressions - Flowering Vine - 4314K
Added Iridescent Medium for shimmer
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping
Finished with Liquid Pearls on the flower centres.

I did have fun with this challenge and will
certainly be using those gelatos in so many
other different ways.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you liked my interpretation of that fabulous photo.

It's Sketch Time again at Atlantic Hearts

Here is a card I made for the current Sketch Challenge
over at Atlantic Hearts.
You can find their blog HERE

I am not completely happy with how this turned out
but maybe I am being a little critical of my own work.
We do that don't we?
Here are some of the products I used
White/Kraft card stock.
Background is made using the
shaving cream technique -
although you can't see too much of it.
The image is heat embossed in white
and is from Stamp It
The background was inked with
Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Stencils
The border is a Stampin' Up punch
Sentiment is also from Stampin' Up.
Finished with some variegated cotton.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Hope to see you back again soon.

Another Heat Embossed card for The House that Stamps Built.

This is the second card I made for the current
Designer's Choice Challenge at The House

Something completely different from my previous card.
Again I used another of the lovely Repeat Impression stamps
I have in my little collection and perfect for
heat embossing. Thanks Kathy.

I used the RI stamp 1713J - Dandelions
(I know they are supposed to be yellow)
as my focal image (popped)
 and embossed it with
Zing Embossing Powder
Basic card stock
Background is a Sizzix embossing folder
Corner rounder
Sentiment and ribbon are from
Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry
also spritzed with the same colour.

Again I hope you like what I made.
I love to read your thoughts.

It's Designer's Choice at The House - Heat Embossing

My friend Kathy Stacy has one of my favourite techniques
for the current DC Challenge at
The House that Stamps Built Here
and she has asked us to create a card with Heat Embossing.
Thanks Kathy - I love doing this especially with RI stamps.

I have made a couple of card and here is the first one.

I went cas on this one by just using white card stock
The gorgeous flower is from
Repeat Impressions - Daffodils 904W
I cut out an oval from a Spellbinder die for masking
The embossing folder is from Stampin' Up
Sentiment from Inspired by Stamping
Inks - Tim Holtz
Broken Chins/Stormy Sky
Memento - Pistachio Summer Sky
Dandelion/Olive Grove
Black Embossing Powder

So you see it is pretty simple and I will send this off
to a friend who is a little under the weather.

I will post my second card a little later.
Thanks for stopping by.

Time for a change - G is for Glitter at ABC Christmas Challenge

My thoughts turned to GLITTER and CHRISTMAS
for the Current Challenge over at

I think Christmas cards should mainly be CAS as we need to
produce so many. So that is what I decided to do with this card.

Christmas is not Christmas without
Glitter and of course a Snowflake.
So of course I got my favourite (and oldie)
Cuttlebug Snowflake die and cut it out
with this lovely coloured glitter paper.
I chose Gold Metallic Paper as my base
I then topped it with similar paper embossed with
another Cuttlebug Embossing Folder added gold
paper to back my scored gold paper.
Popped my gold snowflake after adding a
Sparklet to the centre.
The sentiment is also an olide but goodie
from Stampin' Up - Heard from the Heart
and inked with Versacolor Gold
Also scored top and bottom of the sentiment.

Thanks once again for stopping by

And while I was at it - I kept on playing

And I kept on playing at the
Mellow Yellow Challenge

I again used the paper and pre coloured image from
and went with a swing card using
basic card stock
embossing folder and
Spellbinder die.
Finished it with some Liquid Pearls and
Glossy Accents on the butterfly.

That's it for now..

Spring is in the Air for JUGS #287 Word Week

Spring is in the Air  - just not where I live.
We are in our Autumn but that doesn't stop me from
making a card with bright cheerful colours.

Sharyn as our Hostess chose SPRING
for Word Week
and I am sure all my friends across the pond
are looking forward to it after a
Long and Cold Winter.

Here is a close up of the butterfly which was fussy cut
after adding crystal effects and popped on top of the image
 but doesn't show the shine.

I also used the following items on my card -
 White & Green card stock
Designer Paper and Image - Fred She Said + the
Pre coloured image called Marigolds & Morpho
Fancy That - Leafy Swirls
Sentiment is from Gina K Designs
Just Rite Tags
Own Ribbon/Micro Beads

It's Mellow Yellow at Top Tip Tuesday

It has been a while since I played with a challenge over at
Top Tip Tuesday but the current challenge has me
playing with Mellow Yellow.

The Script Dies are all the rage at the moment so
of course I 'needed' them. I bought one online and it arrived
in the mail yesterday so after seeing the challenge above
I got straight into cutting that Hello die and made this cas card.
I did say on an earlier post you wouldn't see
 'feathers' on my next post
but there are those stencils that keep calling me instead.
Perfect for a simple background.
***
Here are the products that I used
Basic white and yellow card stock
Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello
(cut several and popped for depth)
TCW Mini Texture Stencil
Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers Distress Ink
Stampin' Up Yo Yo Yellow Ink
Friend Sentiment from Stampin' Up - Just Believe
Sequins.
***
#Tip If you have a word that you want to leave a
letter out cover it with washi tape ink up the word
then remove the tape before stamping on your card.
I think I will play with this colour again before the week is out
as it is so bright and colourful with so many possibilities.

Thanks for popping in
