It's a White Christmas

It's our last challenge of the year at
and I had a lot of fun creating a
Very Snowy Christmas Hanger.

I bought the hanger last year - just didn't get to work on it.
I knew when I saw it, it was perfect for Mixed Media.

Let the fun begin! Gessoed with black and white.

Painted the outer circle with
AA metallic rusty red and dark forest.
adding crackle paste to the inside circle
Lots of  'messy stuff'' going on here
adding crackle paste, glitter, art stones.
touched up back trees in green,
AA waxes, acrylic paint for snow capped trees and houses.
It needed a backing so cut out a circle
and smooched with Tim's ox inks and some
irridescent medium for shimmer.
and that finished off my
Christmas Wall Hanger.

Head over to our Blog to see what my
Talented Team Mates had fun creating.
Hope you get some 'you' time to create
a little mixed media something for us.
This is our last challenge for the year.

We take a break in January but
we will be back with more Mixed Media
for your pleasure in February.

Thank you for your kind comments throughout the year.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas
and a Safe Happy and Healthy New Year.

With Brave Wings She Flies!

It's time for our new challenge over at
and I must apologize for my contribution this month.
It has been one of those times with so many different things
happening on the home front that craft time
has been on the back burner.

What I have made above was already started and
just had a little finishing off to do.
I decided to make it into a card adhering to
SU card base and adding an appropriate sentiment
from Tim's Small Talk.
My background is smooched Magical's,
Inked circles and text,
die cut background is Kaisercraft and
that beautiful bee is a Sizzix die
also inked Magicals with glossy centre.
Head over and see what is in store from
my Creative Co-workers and
hope you get a chance to create
a little Mixed Media something for our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting

Sea Shells by the Sea Shore

Hello and Welcome.
Today's post is for the new Anything Goes Challenge
(using multiple mediums)

This time round I decided to visit the seaside since
winter is fast approaching - trying to hang on to
the warm and delights of the sea.
Started off with gesso then texture paste for dimension.
Sprayed with Lindy's Magical's, adding some
plaster's tape and on to my sea shell arrangement.
Added lots of bits and bobs -
Art Alchemy Art Stones and Waxes,
Glitter, Derivan Mica Flakes and Bauxite,
Tiny beads and Nuvo Stone Drops.

Pop over and see what the rest of the
Talented Team created for your pleasure this month
and hope to see you in our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in
Till next time - Cherrio from

My Mixed Media Jar

What's in store for you today?
It's my first attempt at a Mixed Media Jar for
and Anything Goes!

Here is how my jar started out.
by applying black gesso
then white crackle paint.
I think it cracked a bit too much so
applied some white gel medium then stenciling
on all four sides
 adding art stones from Finnebair
and now to brighten it up with Lindy's Sprays
and some cheesecloth for texture
some embellishments, painting  and waxing

and glass beads, pearls and diamond dust
and finished with  coloured cotton
and here is the lid

There you have it. My first ever MM jar.

Pop over and see what my Team Mates created.
They really are super talented in the Mixed Media Field.

If you love dabbling in paints, texture and any itzy bits you have
around the house don't be afraid to
try your hand and you may just be like me and
LOVE IT!

Till next time -

Dream Time for Creative Artiste Mixed Media.

Hello and Welcome to  today's post for our
April Challenge over at the
where Anything Mixed Media Goes
as long as we use multi mediums.

My play time has been limited lately with
family celebrations and hubby's cataract surgery
so please excuse the lack of detail on how
my canvas was created. I was just playing around when I made
the background but came in handy for this months project.
I will do my best to mention the products I used.

Here's a few close ups

I was planning to try something new for this month's creation
but was not to be - so hopefully next time!

Products used -
Gesso, Art Alchemy Metallic Paints, Nuvo Shimmer Powders,
Stencil from ScrapFX,
Dream Catcher from Which Craft Do You Do,
SU Butterflies, Prima Marketing Art Stones
and flower (just a perfect match)
from my stash with a brad in the centre.

Will have a more detailed description with next month's project for

Thanks for dropping in.

Trying my hand at ATC's

Hello and Welcome! I ventured into another room
for this month's Anything Goes Challenge over at
and tried my hand at ATC's.
Now I am sure most are aware of what these
'little pieces of art are -  measuring 2.5" x 3.5"
Here are my fun makes! All very different.

Now a few close ups and how they were made!

I love using corrugated cardboard as you get a great effect
when tearing it apart. After I gesso-ed the back I added some
DecoArt Crackle Paint but hasn't shown up well.
I then got out Tim's Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
Alchemy Metallics in Emerald Green
and Rustic Brown for the background
and the Spellbinder Circles. Added some
plasters tape before attaching the circles
and popping the main one which has
an epoxe sticker attached that I have had
in my stash forever.

I took inspiration from an ATC I saw
from the talented Asia Marquet.
I started with my background of Orange Brusho's
Lindy's Gold Glory of the Seas Spray and
Art Alchemy Fresh Orange Metallic Paint.
These colours were also used for my cheesecloth
and fussy cut butterfly.
Some random inking from Finnabair in black ink
adding some Nuvo Repened Pumpkin Drops.
Sentiment is from AALL & Create - #39.

I got some blue tissue paper with some items I had bought online
and thought it perfect as a start to my background.
Scrunched it up and adhered to my canvas with Crackle Medium.
Once that was dry I swiped Tim's Oxide inks in blues.
(doing the same with the attached pocket)
My denim pocket is from CUTplorations and
I cut out a bigger piece as backing.
The die behind it is from Kaisercraft.
Fussy cut the two stamped paint brushes
from AALL & Create - #39
adding some gold splatters. Gold gelatos were
also added to the raised parts.
Sentiment is from SU.

Hope you liked my first ATC's.

my Team Mates chose to make and
have a go at our Anything Goes Challenge this month.

I'm Excited to be a

Today is the day I get to announce that I have been invited
to be part of the Design Team over at
Creative Artiste Mixed Media Blog
so on the first of the month I will be showing you
some (hopefully) Creative Mixed Media.
I recently stepped outside one craft door and
another one opened a little bit further.
To all my blog friends that
wondered what direction I was heading - it's
to have fun experimenting more in Mixed Media!

Here is my first project as a Designer for
Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog.

As with  Mixed Media there is usually a LOT going on.
As my journey into MM is fairly new
I didn't have a plan in mind as to what I was going to create
so just started off on a 5 by 7 canvas
I always gesso them just in case. After that was dry
I cut up bits of plaster's tape (dry wall) and adhered to the corners.
Adding colour with Tainted Love Teal
and Witches Potion Purple Magical's.
I then stenciled the background with
Tim's Stone Stencil and Dutch Doobadoo Pop Art
with white texture paste.
Added some Kaisercraft script and
waterdrops from Impression Obsession
then rows of cotton before
adhering a large flourish and a SB die.
Butterfly was cut from Mulberry Paper and
topped with a flower, adding more either side.
Added a few Liquid Pearl drops and some
white splatters, some shimmer on the flowers
and butterfly with a sentiment to finish.

A few close ups!

Pop over to Our Blog
and welcome the Designers - returning and new
and check out what wonderful creations they have made,
then join us this month for some fun Mixed Media Mayhem.
Hope to see yours in our Gallery!

Check out my New Watermarks below
and the one attached to my project.
Aren't they Awesome!
A Big THANK YOU to my friend Aussie aNNie
for creating them for me.
I have quite a selection now.
Thanks for dropping in

A Mixed Media 'Dream'

Christmas is over and goodies put to bed for a while at least.
Time to relax and just play  - in my case to use some new goodies.

I didn't know where this project would lead to so just
went with what took my fancy!
Funny enough I started two projects and nearly
put this one in the bin as I wasn't happy with the background
but came back to it today and pressed on.
The other item landed in the bin.
I started by adding a couple of patches of Sand Paste
then stenciling the background with
texture paste sprayed with
Tim's Dusty Concord Distress Stain.
Wet my page then added Lindy's Magical's
in Witches Potion Purple/Freaky Franken Lime
and Nuvo Solar Flare Shimmer Powder.
That is where I left it overnight.
I decided it needed a little more so
stenciled the middle using Nuvo Mousse
in Aloe Vera then just  kept adding
different coloured mousses
some Inka Gold and random script.
Inked water colour paper with
the same Magical's above and
Starburst Spray in Tiffany Lou Blue.
Stamped my butterflies with
Black Archival ink then heat embossed
in black. Fussy cut them after blinging them up
with Nuvo Blue Lagoon Crystal Drops.
Attached some lightly coloured dry wall tape and a
flourish before adding the butterflies.
Finished with a popped sentiment cut from
MFT die and distressing some of the edges.

A few close ups!

I am going enter this at
for their current Challenge Here
It's an Anything Goes so the sky's the limit!

Thanks for dropping in today.
Only a few days till the New Year.
Hoping yours will be a Happy Healthy one.
