It's a Twofer Butterfly Challenge

Hello and Welcome to  today's post.
If you have been checking up on me lately
you will know I have had butterfly images
floating around my blog quite a bit lately.
Now who doesn't love them. We have so many
in our stash it is hard to choose just which ones to play with - and
The Twofer Card Challenge prompt is just that!
Off course I made time to play and here are my
Twofer Butterfly Cards.

I tried to think of something out of the ordinary
BUT that flew out of the window with some of my butterflies.
So mine are the 'conventional' sort.

For my first card I went a bit grungy here
with my trusty Brusho's. I love the result
you get with the black and added orange and yellow
to the mix. I used acetate to move the colours around.
I even added a bit of  Gelatos Gold Champaigne
and some Burnt Orange Magicals.
I stamped my butterfly with black embossing powder
and also a spare to pop blending in with the same colours
as my background and fussy cut.
Stamped a couple of plain butterfly images
from STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies
in Tim's Black Soot. Sentiment is also
from the same set.
To add interest I randomly inked some Kaisercraft Script.
This was all cut from a stitched die and
attached to black card stock.

For my second card I started by adding some
dry wall tape to a piece of kraft card stock
and layered it with DecoArt Crackle Paste
leaving it to dry then decided to pull the tape off
and was happy with the result. This was cut with
a Sizzix Banner and popped. My background is a mix
from SU Timeless Textures in
Tim's Abandoned Coral and Prima Marketing Bare inks.
I heat embossed my butterfly in white and smooched/dried
in Abandoned Coral and again fussy cut.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms.
This was cut with a stitched die and adhered to
Kraft card stock to finish.

Just in case you aren't familiar with this challenge
you make 2 cards with the same stamp/die
 but for 2 different occasions.

Here is a photo of the butterfly stamps I got from a friend.
If anyone knows the maker I would love to hear from you
so I can give credit.

I have been busy lately creating for a few of my Favourite Blogs
and getting DT postings up and scheduled as some of you know
I will be away for a few weeks so what you see

It's the First Twofer Challenge!

Hi there! So glad you dropped in
'cause I am delighted to see the
Fabulous Twofer Card Challenge #1 is Live!
We all (or should) know the Delightful Darnell
who is challenging us to make 2 different cards
with the same stamp/die but for 2 different occasions.
I know there are going to be gazillions
of crafters out there to encourage
Darnell and her Fabulously Talented Team
on there New Journey
SO...... let the fun begin.
I was sooooooooooooooo excited
when I saw what the prompt was FEATHERS!
and I had only recently got out my favourite
SU Four Feathers Set for another card.

On to Card 1
The current and addictive challenge over at
CAS Mix Up is to use cling wrap
and what better way to show off my feathers!
I used Brusho's on glossy photo paper
popped onto stitched die cut card stock.
Sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
Added a few gems and attached cotton
to the feathers.

Card 2
I made as a male card.
The background woodgrain is from
Dark Room Door and stamped with
Tim's Frayed Burlap as is the
front feather. The other two are
in Gathered Twigs.
These were popped in front of
some wrapping paper from some
sweets my sister received from
an overseas friend and is very brittle.
Just knew it would come in handy one day!
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.
Finished with some jute on the feathers.
