Another Tic Tac Toe card

Here is the other card I made for
this weeks Tic Tac Toe Challenge at
Just Us Girls

For some reason I just wasn't happy with this one
hence I made another.

It's been a long time since I did a cut away card
so thought it a good idea to try one again.
The SU Morning Meadow Stamp was perfect for this
and I stamped it randomly on white cs in
Memento Teal Zeal & SU Baja Breeze.
The top flowers are die cut from SU Petite Petals.
Card base is Kraft
Butterflies are from GKD inked with
Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap.
Sentiment is also GKD
Finished with different coloured pearls from Kaisercraft.

It's Wild Card Week at JUGS

Once again it is another month with 5 Saturdays
and that means WILD WEEK at Just Us Girls
hosted this time by Chris who has chosen.
an ever popular challenge in Blogland -
TIC TAC TOE
They are always so much fun with so many choices -
you get to pick your very own favourite squares.

I had already made a card for this challenge but
decided to make another.
I will post it after this goes live.
Can't believe I have chosen just about
 the same colours as before.
Oh Well! on to how I made this one -
I chose to go straight down the middle with
Die Cuts Stamps and Flowers
with
White Aqua & Kraft card stock
My stencil is TCW - Textile and inked with
SU Whisper White and added
Mont Marte Pearl White Paint and
a little glitter
Flower is from SU Flower Shop
Flourishes are Kaisercraft
Added a sentiment a few small flowers
some fern and pearls to finish.

Don't forget to pop over to see what the Design Team
created and hope you get the chance to play
TIC TAC TOE with us this week.
You could be our Chic of the Week or
Guest Designer in March.

Thanks for dropping in

I'm this weeks GUEST at Always Playing with Paper

I recently won the colour challenge over at
and was asked to be their Guest for this week challenge.
Of course I was so excited I said YES!

Don't you just love this Inspiration Photo?
Now a lot of us tend to steer away from male cards
but after seeing this photo -which just screamed
Rusty Old Car! I got out some supplies I thought
I would use but landed up with something totally
different and I must say
how pleased I was with how it finished.

I started my card with black card stock.
The DP I used here is from
Farm House Paper Co. - Fair Skies
This was used on the first background
and behind the tag.
I have backed that with black cs embossed
with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.
I distressed the edges on both the dp and the tag.
The truck is from Gina K Designs Country Roads.
The sentiment is also from GKD
which I purposely chose because when you travel
there are little moments
that make that trip a big lifetime memory.
Sentiments on the tag are from Stamp It.
The other stamps are from
Prima Marketing and Kaisercraft.
The truck was coloured with a variety of pencils
from Faber Castell and blended.
Inks used were Memento Tuxedo Black
Stormy Sky/Potters Clay
and Tim Holtz Peacock Feather.
Foam Squares for depth
Finishing it off with a couple of brads
and some Jute String.

Thanks for dropping in today
and be sure to pop over to the
Talented Designers  Here
to see what Inspired them
for their Masculine cards.

Hope you get time to play with us this week.

Just saying 'Thank You'

Our current challenge over at
Crafty Cardmakers is to use Punches/Dies
and Maike is Hosting.

I am sure you are like me and got new craft items for Christmas.
My hubby chose this die for me so of course I HAD to
try it out didn't I? Perfect for our latest challenge.
I cut my die - Crafts Too You Daisy with green card stock
and the daisy head in white which I inked in
Tim Holtz Abandoned Coral. Touched up with Wink of Stella.
I forgot that I had a spare piece of cs already
with the shaving cream technique
sitting on my desk left over from another card
which matched my flower Genies.
This was cut with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle die.
I embossed the backing with
Couture Creation Ambrosia.
I found this gorgeous ribbon and attached to the back
(a little hard to see) and placed my bow to the side.
I finished by adding a tiny sentiment from SU.

Be sure to pop by to see what the DT have for your inspiration
and hope to see your creation there.
PS It doesn't have to be a card this time so
let your imagination run wild!
but don't forget if it has you cannot enter it
if you have uploaded it to more than
 15 sites including this one...sorry

Happy crafting and Thanks for dropping in

I'm Not BLUE - Thinking of You

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls and Maria is Hosting.

using  these 3 colours only.

Seems to be a popular choice so far this year.

I loved this colour choice because quite some time ago
I received a package of craft goodies from a
secret partner from a site I was part of.
We would randomly send cards and sometimes craft items
to each other sometimes going to great lengths
to post from different parts of the world so they
wouldn't know where you were.

So on to my card that I had so much fun making and
thinking of my partner as we found out who it was at the end of that year.
Mine was over on the other side of the world in the UK.
I got to use only a small part of this package which included
paper ribbon buttons etc.

Here are the products I used.
Designer Papers for the background flower
ribbon and button are from Docrafts
Capsule Collection - Burleigh Blue and Lakeland Crafts.
The flower is cut from Spellbinders Labels 27 and
several times from Moroccan Motifs
MS Punch
Distressing
Memento Paris Dusk/Summer Sky on sentiment
from GKD cut using an IBS Label
Memory Box Quinn Flourish behind the flower
Kaisercraft pearls
Variegated cotton on button.

Now you have read my long story I hope you will
pop over to our Blog and see more
Beautiful Blue Cards.
Looking forward to seeing yours there too.
Then you will be in the running for our
popular Chic of the Week and go into the voting
for our Guest Designer for March.

but wait there's more!

There is a new BLOG in town called
and they have the most awesome talented Designers -
how do I know? Some of my friends are there.
Check it out because you won't be disappointed.

For their first challenge it's
Be inspired with these beautiful Photos
and you just need to add Blue Flowers of course.
Now who could resist playing after seeing them?
I couldn't...
Again apologies for the long post today but
it was worth it...

Thanks for dropping by

A Happy HELLO!

The new Challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations
has my favourite colour

and even better their sponsor is one of my favourites

I was doing the happy dance as one of the
paper packs I have has
 the most beautiful lilac papers.
Now I have a nice little supply of their products
as they are an Australian based site
so thought it fitting to play with them.
I had a hard time photographing this card
as no matter which angle.
The white paper looks crooked (which it isn't)

Here are the list of products I used.
IBS - Spring Lilac Paper Pack
Flowers
Sentiment - Big Hello (love that one)
Birthday Wishes for the frame.
Grey& White card stock
Spellbinders Squares & Lacey Squares
Distressing
Lilac rhinestones
Memento Lulu Lavender
and Sweet Plum Inks

I really enjoyed making this card with such
a lovely colour combination.
Gorgeous cards by the Designer Team.

Thanks for dropping in.
Would love to read your comments.

We're off and running for 2016 at Crafty Cardmakers & More.

It's a New Year -  New Challenges to try and
2 New Designers.
Welcome to the Team Angela Judy & Ngaere

For our first Challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers -
hosting this one is Sally and she has chosen
New Baby-Marriage-Home etc - you get the drift.
***
My niece is due to have a baby in a few months so it was
a perfect time to make a Baby Card.
Starting with white cs as my base I then cut some
scraps pieces of paper on an angle embossing
with some very old Cuttlebug Embossing Borders.
Perfect size...
These were attached to a white base.
I then added some pink cs topped with
some scrap DP.
Added various coloured buttons a little cotton
and some rhinestones.
My tag was cut from Kaisercraft  Tag Die
and BABY was cut with Cuttlebug Typewriter dies.
I just love those cb dies. They are one of the first things
I bought many years ago when I was just starting out
making cards.
***
I am playing along at
Cuttlebug Mania as their challenge is -
use  'New' in your project. Got that one covered (Baby)
where I have used letters - yes that too.

So there you have it...
Thanks so much for dropping in.

Colour Throwdown #374

I loved the colour combination at Colour Throwdown

so went for a cas birthday card -
not bulky and good for posting.

I used basic grey card stock
topping it with multiple stampings
of SU Pocket Silhouettes in
Memento Peanut Brittle & Potters Clay.
I used a SU punch to back my sentiment
which is also SU - Morning Meadow.
Finished it with a little spritzing
some gemstones and a
flutter of butterflies by SU.

Thanks for dropping in today.

We're Trending this week at JUST US GIRLS

It's TREND WEEK at Just Us Girls
and hosting this week is Sue and she has chosen
Metals/Metallics

I made my card before Christmas as I didn't want to be
rushing after I came home from my holidays in
Sunny North Queensland (Australia).
***
This trend gave me the chance to make a male card
so I got out a Marianne Design car die and cut in black cs
using a small piece of acetate for the windows
and brass brads for the wheel trim.
I inked a cuttlebug folder for the background with similar
colours as my cs and attached a few metal bits
 to blend with the background.
Sentiment is cut using Spellbinders Circles

Hop on over to our blog and check out
our Guest Designer's Deepti & Vicki's cards
and what the Team have produced.
You are never disappointed are you!

Hope to see you there!

I would like to enter this card at
http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.co.uk/
for their Challenge #101 Anything BUT Square.

It's a NEW YEAR at Just Us Girls

It's a New Year and a New Image at Just Us Girls.
Don't you just love it!  Thanks to our Talented Host Nancy.

Our first Challenge for the year is for

and as you can see it is THANK YOU.

My base is white ripple card stock.
I topped this with scoring the grey.
The pink background for my butterfly is
a piece of card stock which has the
shaving cream technique.
My leaf is from Kaisercraft.
The butterfly from Marianne Designs is
cut twice - once in white (on top) and again
(underneath) in vellum.
Sentiment is from GKD and I finished
with  different sized rhinestones
on the butterfly and background.
***
We have 2 Talented Guest Designer's

There's 'SNOW' One Like You

Lin is Hosting for our last Challenge of the year over at
Crafty Cardmakers
and she has chosen SNOW.

Now it is of course snowing in other parts of the world -
just not here but never fear a Crafty Friend sent me
the stamp set - There's Snow One Like You
by Gina K Designs (Thanks Verna)
It has come in sooooooooooo handy
and have used it lots.
For my background I inked blue card stock
with Memento Summer Sky/Paris Dusk.
I also masked a small circle for the moon
(a little hard to see behind the trees)
behind the stencil Garden Birch from Memory Box.
I then attached 2 snowy hills. The 3 trees are cut
and embossed from an old
Cuttlebug Christmas die set. I Kindy Glitzed them
as well as the lines of the snow.
My cute little snowman I fussy cut twice -
once for the main image and the second
with some scrap DP for paper piecing his
hat and scarf. Added a blue pearl for the pom pom.
I made a frame for the sentiment pole
  which is popped.
Punched a small star for the top of the
 tall Christmas tree.

Please pop over to Our Blog to see the
lovely snowy creations the DT have made
and hope that you still have a little time
to create that last minute card for our challenge.

I am heading north to tropical surroundings
at the end of the week to spend time with Family
 - hoping it won't be too humid
but AC will come in handy if it is.
I will be back early in the New Year so
no crafting for quite some time.
No doubt my finger will be itching to get
stamping again.

Till then I wish you all a
MERRY CHRISTMAS
and as the Scots say
A Guid New Year!

It's nearly 'Christmas Time'

This will be my last posting for Just Us Girls this year
as the Jugheads are taking a few weeks off
to celebrate Christmas with family and friends.

Lisa is our Hostess for our TREND WEEK
and she has chosen SEQUINS.

I am sure we all have containers full of sequins
and they are always fun to add to our cards.
I decided to make a shaker card in circle shapes
(cut out with Spellbinder  die)
with some bling to make them into Christmas decorations.
Again I went for non traditional colours..
The background to my baubles are inked with stars.
My card base is purple and topped with iridescent paper.
Baubles are filled with different sequins beads and a few
punched stars. I also added a few stars punched out
with glitter paper some rhinestones and sequins to finish.
My Merry Christmas die is again cut from Elizabeth Craft die.

Please pop over to our Blog Here
to check out the talented Design Team's creations.

I am heading to my daughter's for Christmas/New Year
and so looking forward to spending time with some of my family.
She lives in tropical Queensland
(we are further south)
so will be hot and humid.
Air conditioning will come in handy.

So to sign off for now I will say Cherrio
and wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and
a Happy Safe and Healthy New Year.

Its a MERRY Christmas

Christmas time is fast approaching so I thought it timely
to choose MERRY as my WORD for this weeks Challenge.
My BFF gave me the Spellbinders Create a Flake 4 recently as
she found she had purchased it twice (lucky me)
so I just had to play with it and really happy how
my card turned out.
I love non traditional colours at Christmas time
so went for the softness for the snowflakes.
I cut multiple dies including an old
Cuttlebug Snowflake die added glitter
to a few of them and popped.
The embossing folder is also an old
Cuttlebug folder.
The Merry has been cut several times for depth
and top layer glittered.
Finished off with some bling.
Pop over to our blog for some lovely
MERRY cards from the Design Team
and I am sure you will be inspired to participate
in our Word Challenge.
Thanks for dropping by today.

'twas the Night Before Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner and Pamellia is Hosting at
Crafty Cardmakers & More and her theme is
'twas the Night Before Christmas
and we have printed out the words Here
for you to check so you can incorporate your card with
 something from the poem.

I decided to go with the Reindeer
(And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.)
and heat embossed my cut out image in gold.
My card stock is Kraft & White and the
DP is from Me to You
I have had the 3D holly stickers in my stash for years
and knew they were a perfect match for the DP
My reindeer is slightly popped and finished my card off
with some pearls.
***
Now it is your turn to come up with what inspired you.
It is a good excuse to continue with your
Christmas card making.
Look forward to seeing what it is.
