'Celebrate'

Today's post is for Trend Week at Just Us Girls
and Hosting is Sue choosing Galaxy Night Sky or Backgrounds.

There are so many gorgeous galaxy creations out there
and this was such fun trying to replicate one.
I made mine such a long time ago I can't remember
the colours of Tim's Oxide's I used - sorry!
I did add a spray of iridescent medium and also
splatters to make it look like snow.
Diecut my houses - even added paper
to the inside to show all the lights were on
with more shimmer on the roof area.
Added some very old starform stickers,
the celebrate sentiment die from STAMPlorations,
matted then fixing it to my card stock
and my galaxy card is done.

Do pop over and see what our Guest Cathy
and the Team created and come join us this week.
Hope to see you there.

What's 'Trending' at Just Us Girls???

Welcome to today's post for Just Us Girls.
It is Trend Week and Angie as Host has chosen
So many choices here.
I had intended to do a peek-a-boo card but...
I got this new die that I thought I would try out.
I had an idea in my head that I thought I would
try once again. It was all the tissue paper cards
floating around in Blogland and it hit me!
Why not get out one of those
drawer full of paper patterned napkins
and go with that.

I glued my lavender napkin to card stock and
scrunched it a little. I did this quickly so I
wouldn't tear it. I then added my window.
The background was again pasted with
a plain scrunched up napkin finished
with a Happy Birthday cut die from Marianne Designs.
I really like the scrunched background finishing
my card off nicely.

Now pop over to Our Blog
to see what our October Guest Karola
and the Team created.
Hope you will join in this weeks Challenge.
In doing so you could be chosen as our
Chic of the Week and in the running for
 a Guest Designer Spot.

Thanks for dropping in.

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls

Hello Craft Friends -
It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Hosting is Bobby
with an all time favourite - Water Colouring but with a little twist.
You need to use an Acrylic Block.

It may not look like I have used a block for my Water Colouring
but it was a big one and I wanted to fill the page
with all sorts of colours
to depict a glowing sunny sky for my Hot Air Balloons.
I used several TH Distress Inks for my background - wetting
my acrylic block and inking my card stock.
I repeated it several times to get the overall background.
Touched it up with a bit of white speckle stenciling.
The balloons were inked up with
TH Black Soot in my trusty stamp positioner making sure
of a good outline. These stamps were a gift from a friend
and are from an unknown source.
I thought the sentiment from STAMPlorations
called Noteworthy was a perfect match.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog to see what
Our September Guest Linda
and the Jugheads have made.
Love to see you join us this week
By doing so you could be our Chic of the Week
and be in the running to be our Guest in November.

Thanks for dropping in - love reading your thoughts!

Let it 'SHINE'

Hi there Crafty Ones! It's time to show/tell you what our
New Challenge is over at Just Us Girls and
Hosting is Judy. She has asked for 'SHINE'
So 'Shine' it is!
I took several shots trying to showcase how shiny my card is.

I got out my Gilding Flakes to use as my 'Shine'
trying once more not to get sticky fingers (alas it failed)
So onto the start of my card -
Card Base is white and I stenciled a feather on the side with
Gold Colour Blast Paste. For my feature I stenciled
another feather with white texture paste and randomly adding
a little Inka Gold and splatters. This was popped.
My feathers are from SU 4 Feathers - the middle one
inked with TH peacock Feathers and dipped in Inka Gold.
The other 2 are covered with Autumn Leaves Gilding Flakes.
Stencil Feathers are from Crafters Workshop/Hero Arts.
Added a small stitched circle from MFT with a simple sentiment.
Finished with some gold cotton.

Darnell is again with us as our August Guest so please
pop over to Our Blog and see what we have all
created for your inspiration.
This certainly is a fun challenge - the sky is the limit
with the word 'Shine' especially as foiling is all the rage
at present. I don't have anything in that line hence
the reason I went with my trusty sticky flakes.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks for dropping in this week.

What's 'Trending' at Just Us Girls?

How 'awesome' that Chris chose those
fabulous powder dies as our Trend at Just Us Girls.
I have only recently bought these addicted little items
and am having so much fun each time I get them out.
My powders are Brusho's

I started by heat embossing my butterfly image with
white embossing powder onto water colour paper then
added brusho's. After that dried I cut it out with a
stitched postage stamp die popping it
in front of white card stock and then to my card base.

I am sure you are going to want to play with this Challenge so
pop over Here and check out what our June Guest Estelle
and the Super Talented Design Team
have created for your inspiration.
See you there!

Just to make you all envious you may already know
I will be swanning around at a Craft Show
with good friends including Cheryl Wright
(I know a lot of you know her)
when this goes live!
She is coming up again from Melbourne.
We will have a crafty time ahead as Cheryl is coming home with me
and staying for a whole week. Yay!

We're Distressed at Just Us Girls

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls
and Sue is our Host choosing a Most Popular Trend
using Inks as a background.

As I write this post I haven't yet had the experience of
trying the TH Oxide Inks but will remedy that
before this post goes live Yay!
So I am still playing (and lovin' them)
with Tim's Distress Inks for this challenge.

I did have another card in progress but time is
running out and needed to schedule this post
before heading off to spend time with family.
***
As a lot of you will know I love playing with backgrounds
so this challenge was such fun. I could have made so many more.
I started my base with a metallic card stock.
The background was made with
TH Distress Inks in Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon
then I got out some Pearl EX Powder  and
smeared it with a paint brush which has given it
a lovely shimmer. I keep forgetting I have them.
Added my featured flower from
ARTplorations Rose Duet stenciled with
Pearl White Acrylic Paint. while that was wet
I sprinkled with Elizabeth Craft Cool Diamonds.
My sentiment is from
STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies 2
Finished with some gems.

Love is in the Air

February is the 'Love' Month and with that in mind
Vicki has chosen 'Hearts' for our Trend Week Challenge

Once again I got out a favourite stamp set
from SU - Timeless Textures for my background.
I also just received a cheapie heart stamp set
with various heart shapes adding a few of them here
with a few red and gold splatters.
This was cut with a stitched die
and attached to red card stock.
My heart is an old sizzix die - double hearts
which was cut from gold paper.
Inks were VersaColor Gold
Memento Angel Pink & Tim Holtz Festive Berries
Added a row of cotton and finished with
my sentiment from GKD

I'd like to welcome our February Guest Designer
Michele Greenwood. Pop over to Our Blog
to see what she has created with us
and come join in this weeks challenge.
I am sure Vicki will be busy choosing a winner
with such a popular 'Trend'

It's 'TREND WEEK' at Just Us Girls

Bobby is Hosting this weeks Trend Challenge at
Just Us Girls and chose
'All Over Stamping'

Now I had the stamp set I used here in line for another challenge
but realized it was 'perfect' for this one instead.
It is SU - Timeless Textures and this is another stamp set
that has so many ways you can use it.
I got out a bunch of Tim Holtz Distress Inks
and just started inking and stamping randomly and as you can see
it lands up an 'all over stamping' background
for my butterfly which is by the way
a left over from a few I made last year.
How perfect was that? The only thing I had
to add to my background was some Inka Gold
as I had added it to my butterfly.
I cut my background with a stitched die
and framed it then added to my card base.
I die cut my 'Happy' from Impression Obsession
attached it to the butterfly and
stamped the Birthday (from Pink & Maine)
Finished with a gem.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog
for more fabulous stamping.
Join us and you could be Chic of the Week
going on to be Guest Designer in March.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks for dropping in.

It's 'Trend Week' at Just Us Girls

Hello to all my Blogger friends. It's that time of the month for
'Trend Week' at Just Us Girls
and Judy is this weeks Host choosing Jars.

Now I did have a few concerns with this one. I knew
I had a small mason jar stamp but then found a
die which luckily arrived in my mailbox in time to use
for my card.  My first attempt was a shaker - wrong choice
it landed - you know where. My second attempt I wasn't
completely satisfied with either until after I made the
third one (which is above)
***
Here is how I made it -
Starting with basic white card stock I then got out
a stencil adding texture paste and inking slightly after it dried.
Added a few strips of DP to the bottom then attached my popped
mason jar which I covered with a floral vellum.
My leaves are from Kaisercraft and Marianne Designs.
Flowers are  Martha Stewart.
Filled in the centre of the flowers and
added my heat embossed  Hello sentiment
from Inspired by Stamping.
***

Won't go into too much detail -
I added buttons to the top of the die and they looked
so bright - added some vellum (click)  over the top so now
it doesn't look so bad. Thought it would make a nice
birthday card for a sewing friend.
***
Hope you have been over to Our Blog and checked out
what December's Guest - Teresa made and
the Talented Team.
Hope you are encouraged to play with us this week.
If so you could be our Chic of the Week
and be our Guest in February.

Till next time - Cherrio from

A 'Snowflake or Three'

 It's Trend Week at
Just Us Girls and Hosting is
BOBBY choosing METALLICS!

Now with Christmas - yes Christmas
just around the corner I really need to
get my act together and start on them.
Hence this is the way I went for this weeks Challenge.

I found this fabulous dotty paper in my stash that
I know I bought years ago and thought it a
perfect background for my snowflakes.
I got out my 'old faithful' Cuttlebug snowflake die
and Spellbinders Create a Flake 4 die and cut them out
from gold and white glittery paper.
Added a gold frame then popped my snowflakes.
My sentiment is from Stampin' Up and heat embossed.
Finished with some pearls and a button from my stash.

Pop over to our Blog and see more magnificent metallics
from our November Guest Cecile' and the Team.
You won't be disappointed.
Come join us and you could be our Chic of the Week
and be a future Guest Designer.

'Aloha'

It's TREND week over at Just Us Girls
and Hostess this week is Sue and chosen Pineapples

Well this threw me as I have nothing relating to them.
How excited I was when I went to my monthly
girls day out card making and our Demonstrator Tania
had chosen a card with just that.
Thanks Tania - you saved the day. All credits to you.

I didn't finish my card that day
but came home and added some splatters from a
Tim Holtz stencil. Also added a few strips
of paper under the pineapple.
Card stock is SU and has been stamped on the edges with the
pineapple stamp which is part of the
set Pop of Paradise from SU
My sentiment is from Gina K.

Now pop over to Our Blog
and check out what our October Guest Jaydee
and my Team Mates created.
Join in and you could be our Chic of the Week
and be in the running for
Guest Designer in December

It's all about 'YOU'

Doesn't every crafter have little containers
full of all sorts of coloured sequins?
Off course you do - that's why Lisa
as our Hostess at Just Us Girls
thought it was time to use some of them
and chose SEQUINS for our Trend Week.

There are so many ways to use those little critters -
perfect for a shaker card but not me this time.
I could see me dropping them all over the floor.
I decided to go soft and subtle

I was given some unusual pieces of coloured paper
which look like they were recycled and are
quite thin and didn't know how it would cut
so I tried it out using a Sizzix leaf die
and they turned out nicely.
I then decided I needed  a touch of colour
behind my background so used another sheet there.
This  was stencilled with Sparkle Medium
and while wet I added some fine glitter.
My butterfly was cut from a Cheery Lynn die and
also added glitter and a pearl.
My sentiment is a new one - recently purchased
from a Win I had and is from Pink & Maine.
I must say they ink up beautifully.
To finish off my card I needed those
Sequins as part of the challenge and
also added some rhinestones.

Hope you check out Our Blog
for more blingy creations and then
get out your sequins carefully and
join us for this super challenge.
You could be our Chic of the Week and
be in the running as Our Guest in November.

I am going to enter this card in the CAS Challenge
over at STAMPloration - Details Here

Thanks for dropping in

Trending with Water Colouring

I was playing around recently with a new stamp
merrily water colouring this lovely stamp.
It wasn't till I had finished that I realized I
had chosen Water Colour as my word for
our Trend Week so you guessed it
I am showcasing it for my challenge at
Just Us Girls. Whoo Hoo!

Now I am not one that enjoys colouring in images
but I loved how simple this stamp was - and it
said 'Watercolour' Poppies.
I didn't even think to use watercolour paper
but as it turns out I was pretty happy with the result.
Here are the products I used -
White card stock
Foam Squares for dimension
Stamp is Rubberneck Watercolour Poppy
Memento Bamboo Leaves
Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade
SU Tangerine Tango/Calypso Coral
Tim Holtz Speckles Stencil
Sentiment is GKD inked on vellum
Pearls to finish.

How about popping over to our blog Here
to check out what Watercolour Wonders
our Guest Colleen and my Talented Team Mates
have created.
Hoping to see you there 'cause this Trend is
so hot at present and so addictive.
You could be chosen as our Chic of the Week
and be in the running to be
Our Guest Designer in October.

Thanks for dropping in.
Love to read your Comments.

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Hosting this week is
Vicki who chose Sponging.
So many different ways to play with this one!

This was an easy cas card to make and a nice male card.
I decided to sponge the background
and masked the top and bottom.
The stamp I used was purchased at a recent craft show
and is from Stamp It Australia - Large Conifer.
Inked this with Memento Northern Pine.
The background colours are -
Memento Bamboo Leaves and
Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade/Dried Marigold.
Card stock is white linen.
The tree was inked once and then stamped off
on either side giving it the lighter effect.
Sentiment is from GKD.
While the main tree ink was still wet I dusted it with
Elizabeth Craft cool diamond glitter.
Still a little hard to see here.

And there you have it.
Pop on over to Our Blog to see
more inspiration and we would love to see yours this week.
