Canvasing 'Happy Thoughts'

Hi there and Welcome!
Today's post is for the current challenge
of Felt/Cork or Canvas etc over at CAS Mix Up Blog
All the details are Here
You will have seen my first entry using cork.
This time I thought I would play with canvas.
It really is a fun paper and gives a great
texture look to your project.
I started by spritzing some Turquoise Brusho's
onto my canvas then decided to add a bit of texture
with Mont Marte Pearl White Acrylic Paint
then some White DecoArt Crackle Paste -
I should have added more but was just an experiment.
I left it overnight and was happy with the result so continued
by cutting out 2 Spellbinder Butterflies in canvas.
Attached them to my background and adhered to white card for stability.
Mixed up a little more of what I used for the background,
covering both cutouts and attached an oval gem.
Added some splatters and finished with my sentiment
from STAMPlorations Bloom Happy in Oxide Salty Ocean.
To blend with my pearly background I chose some
Pearlescent Textured card stock.
Here is a close up of the shimmer/texture -
My Mix is Canvas, Stamping, Die Cutting, Mixed Media.

Thanks for dropping in today

It's CUTplorations January Challenge

A Guid New Year tae ane an awe
And mony may we see!
( A wee bit of Scotland coming out here)

We are off and running over at STAMPlorations
for our CUTplorations Inspiration Photo Challenge.

What did you pick up on when you looked at this
really Beautiful Scene?

I will admit I had a meltdown knowing I didn't
have a STAMPloration tree as that is what I
wanted as my focal image so improvised
by cutting one - but before that
I wanted to try and match the beautiful sky background
using Oxide Inks, Inka Gold and a White Gel Pen.
Turned out nicely then added some 'trees'
which really are leaves from
STAMPlorations Trendy Spring Blooms
for the background then my cut tree
I used as a stencil and inked.
Adhered this to
CUTplorations Crazy-Double-Running-Stitch-Rectangle-Nesting-Dies
Sentiment is CUTplorations Enchanting Word Die

And so my card is done.
Thanks for dropping in. Love to read your thoughts.
Hope to see you over in The Gallery
and don't forget to check out my Team Mates Inspirations
and the Prizes to be Won!

Be 'Thankful'

Hello Crafty Friends! What's in store today?
It's Saturday which means it's Just Us Girls Challenge Day.

Hosting this weeks Word Challenge is Maria
choosing a very appropriate word THANKFUL.

I know it has only been a few weeks since you saw this
Rubbernecker Poppy Stamp here BUT I love it and again it is
close to our Remembrance Day in Australia.

Why is this date so Special?
Armistice Day is on 11th November and is also known as Remembrance Day.
It marks the day World War One ended,
at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, back in 1918.
A two-minute silence is held at 11am to remember the people who have died in wars.

Just this time it isn't (but it should be) a Red Poppy!
I thought I would try using Tim's Oxide Inks
in Dusty Concord & Wilted Violet
What an unusual result! Once again I offset it.
Added some splatters from Purple Brusho's.
I cut this out with a scallop stitched die and popped.
Added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the centre of the flowers.

So that's it for me for today.
Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog
to see what our November Guest Trina Pham
and the Jugheads created.
I'm sure you will find time to play
and show us your 'Thankful' creations.

By the way! The Jugheads are taking December off so
those chosen as a Chic of the Week  in November
will be in the running for 2 Guest Spots when we
come back rested and raring to go again in January.

'Love' Always

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls and hosting is Vicki
choosing these colours
They 'scream' Halloween to me but I chose a different path
as I am not a Halloween sort of person.
I think this flower from SU Bloom with Hope
makes for a lovely card. I remembered I had some
Twinkling H2 O's in my stash so I decided to
heat emboss the flower and go from there.
I fussy cut that out and then went on to
create the background.
This was achieved using SU Timeless Textures
with TH Black Soot & Mowed Lawn.
The green leaves are from Marianne Designs
and a MS punch.
I finished my flower with some Diamond Dust
in the centre.
and cut my sentiment from STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms
with a MFT Stitched die.
Pop over to Our Blog to see what our
October Guest Karola
and the Team created using these fabulous colours.
You are never disappointed!
Hope to see you there.

Live with Passion!

My card is for the current challenge over at
Cardz 4 Galz. It's Challenge #51 and choosing
the Theme of Butterflies is Babs
Now don't we all just love them?

I'm Lovin' one of my new favourite craft supplies
Nuvo Mousse which I have used here for my
stenciled background.
You can see the beautiful shimmer you get above.
This one is called Burnished Bronze.
The stencil is a new one recently purchased at a craft show
called Peacock Feathers and from Hero Arts.
The butterfly is from CUTplorations Flutter Zen 1
inked with TH London Fog with a touch of shimmer.
Card stock is grey. Added a few gems to finish.

Come join us over at Our Blog with your
Beautiful Butterflies and check out what the Team created.
  Loved to see you there.

My first posting as Guest Designer at Shopping our Stash

I was so excited and thrilled to be invited to be
Guest Designer for February over at  Shopping our Stash
Their challenge this week is Winter Blues BUT
don't make a Winter card. Pop over to the SOS link above
to get all the details.
This wasn't too hard for me as I am
sweltering through a heat waive
and anything cooling is fine by me.

I went with a clean and simple style getting out my
neglected gelatos in navy and swiping across watercolour paper
then adding layers of white acrylic paint.
I attached 2 cut out bull rushes from Craft Emotions
  framed and popped it.
The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Noteworthy.
Isn't is a great sentiment and one we should live by?
To finish it off I added more splats of white acrylic paint.
If you haven't been over to The SOS Blog be sure to head that way
and see what the Design Team have created for you.
Such a fun challenge. Hope to see you there.

Thanks for coming by today.
