Simply a 'Thistle'

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls and choosing
those 3 Colours as Host is Maria.
(Neutrals are welcome)

I had recently added a few more colours to my
Brusho stash and they came in extremely handy
for this weeks card.
I used Yellow and Orange for my background
and since I only needed a small piece I
experimented with 2 different inks.
For my first card I used SU Rich Razzleberry
for my Lavinia Thistle. Everyone knows that is
my Favourite Flower (not a weed to me)
I inked up a script stamp and added it to the
background for effect. Finished with some
scoring and variegated cotton with a bow.
I heat embossed the image above and found it
wasn't as dark as the stamped one.
I made this while I had a friend visiting and she said
it would make a nice bookmark so that is just what I did.
I picked out the sentiment especially for her
which is from STAMPlorations and was heat embossed also.
Did a bit of distressing on the edges and
added some yellow cotton to the top.

Aren't they just a gorgeous combination!
I loved playing with this one and hope you will
pop over to Our Blog to see what
our September Guest Linda and the Team created
to inspire you to enter this week's Challenge.
You could be chosen as our Chic of the Week!

You are 'AWESOME'

Hi there Blogger Friends -
My post today is for the current challenge

After seeing Kylie Purtell's Water Coloured Flowers
I knew I had to ink up my STAMPlorations Blossom Sprays 1 too.
Isn't it gorgeous!
I knew I wanted to just heat emboss it on kraft
as I just love using white/kraft together.
My sentiment is from MFT SimplyFabThings
and cut from a MFT stitched die heat embossed in white.
My other sentiment is from CUTplorations Awesome Word Die.
This was cut from a stitched die and
My card base and die  are from SU Groovy Guava.
A pretty cas easy card that came together nicely.

Details Here

These are the stamp and die used above.

Cardz 4 Galz Challenge #56

Hello and Thanks for Popping in.
Today's post is for the latest Challenge over at
Cardz 4 Galz and choosing the Theme is Maryvonne.
Welcome Little Baby.
I have very little in the way of baby supplies but
lucky for me I found this Teddy and inked him up
with Altnew Coral Berry
My base is white and I embossed the front with
the old CB Swiss Dots folder.
Scrounged through my dp bits and found
this pinky piece cutting it on an angle and
punching the edge with a SU punch.
I then cut out my Teddy and added a frame
behind from Spellbinder dies.
Added glossy accents to his ears nose heart and paws.
My Congratulations is from paper Smooches
(love the funky font)
Tied some variegated cotton to finish.

That's it for me today.
Hope you will pop over and see what
The Team have created and come join in.

A Quick Christmas Card

I was sorting through my Christmas card stash and
was surprised at just how few I have so  thought I would
have a little play with a few new products.
I decided I would try Tim Holtz Antique Bronze
Distress  Spray Stain (very shimmery) squirting it a few times
on my card stock. This was cut from the
I liked the look for a background
then I cut out my
Attached that to a cuttlebug embossed background
again using the same nesting die.
Finished with a simple Merry Christmas die from Lawn Fawn.
I kept it simple for easy posting.
I am just in time to add it to
#258 Holiday.

Also STAMPlorations are on vacation BUT
we can pop our creations Here
and the never Ending Anything Goes Challenge

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls

Hello Craft Friends -
It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Hosting is Bobby
with an all time favourite - Water Colouring but with a little twist.
You need to use an Acrylic Block.

It may not look like I have used a block for my Water Colouring
but it was a big one and I wanted to fill the page
with all sorts of colours
to depict a glowing sunny sky for my Hot Air Balloons.
I used several TH Distress Inks for my background - wetting
my acrylic block and inking my card stock.
I repeated it several times to get the overall background.
Touched it up with a bit of white speckle stenciling.
The balloons were inked up with
TH Black Soot in my trusty stamp positioner making sure
of a good outline. These stamps were a gift from a friend
and are from an unknown source.
I thought the sentiment from STAMPlorations
called Noteworthy was a perfect match.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog to see what
Our September Guest Linda
and the Jugheads have made.
Love to see you join us this week
By doing so you could be our Chic of the Week

A Simple Silhouette

Hello there my blogger friends -
Today I have a simple card experimenting
with some oxide inks (I need the practice)
and came up with

for the September CAS Watercolour Challenge
and for their

I am still having fun playing with some of my new
Lavinia Stamps and there are a few more to come.
My watercolour background has been smooched
several times. I then heat embossed my Lavinia Thistle
in white adding Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the centre.
For interest I stamped around it with a small script stamp
with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink.
This was cut from a Spellbinder Die
and again with the 2 larger ones and popped.
Sentiment is from
and also has the crystal glaze.
PS I chose the LOVE die just because
I Love Thistles oh! and there is Purple...

#Updated -  Also popping this over to
City Crafter Challenge Blog for their
Challenge #378 Pick One.

I could play with more of these gorgeous colours!
I'm thinking I may just do that.
Thanks for dropping by today.
Love reading your comment. Till next time

Hello my Crafty Friends.
Once again it is time to showcase my latest card for

Once again I went with non traditional Christmas colours.

Brusho's in Violet/Purple & Lime Green.
I framed this with the silver paper
and popped it onto metallic card stock.
Added a few pearls to finish.

Hope I have inspired you with my card and you pop over
to see what my Team Mates created and come join us.

'Groovy'

Doesn't every woman 'Love Shoes'
I sure hope you do 'cause Lisa is Hosting our
Latest Challenge over at Just Us Girls
choosing just that as it is Word Week!
We have a new Guest Designer for September.
Welcome Linda from
http://linscraftcorner-linda.blogspot.com/
Lovely to have you join us this month.

I just love the awesome STAMPlorations Groovy Shoes
stamp set I used here.
I heat embossed  my image in black
then adding Brusho's in Brilliant Red & Black.
on water colour paper.
I wanted something a little different - bold and dramatic
and remembered I had some brightly coloured
Gelly Plate Pulls that I had made when my friend Cheryl
came to stay a while back.
I backed my shoe with red card stock, popped it
onto a cut out piece of the gelly plate pull.
It is a shame I couldn't get the silver metallic paint
I used to show up on the photograph as it really looks fabulous.
Again I framed it with red great and onto black card base.
Added a touch of silver splatters,WOS to the shoe sole
and a girl needed some bling on that groovy shoe.
The sentiment is also from the stamp set above.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog to check out
more shoe inspiration from our September Guest
Linda and the Team -  come join us this week.
You could just be chosen as Chic of the Week
and then be in the running for
Guest Designer in November.

After laying myinlaid dies to the background

It's time to get 'KRAFTY'

Hello Crafty Friends - time for another posting for
Cardz 4 Galz and it's one of my favourites
Use Kraft Card Stock.
Julie has chosen the Theme for this fortnight.
Off course my card base is KRAFT.
I also used it as a backing for my
embossed feature which is from
Couture Creations Ambrosia. This was inked up with
Nuvo Lavender Mousse/Colour Blast Paste
Golden Olive Metallic Gilding Polish and
Apricot Inka Gold.
My sentiment is from MFT - Simply Fab Sayings
inked in Memento Teal Zeal.
The B has been highlighted with
Nuvo Blue Glitter Gloss and adding
Nuvo Blue Lagoon Glitter drops to the side.
(trying to show you the shimmer)
Hope you will pop over to The Cardz 4 Galz Blog
and check out all things KRAFTY from the Team.

Going 'Tropical' at Just Us Girls

Hello there Crafty Ones - Don't you just love this gorgeous
'Tropical Photo' Maria has chosen
for Photo Week at Just Us Girls ??
What inspires you here? For me it was the flamingo's.
They are so beautiful and since I didn't have a stamp
or die in my stash I quickly went to buy one online.
I found the one below and as it was local
I knew it would arrive quickly.
I am a little disappointed with this card.
After a few attempts I finally got the multi step flamingo
to look fairly good except for the big beak.
Maybe a bit heavy handed with the black
as it was a separate itzy bitzy stamp
you wouldn't want to lose.
I also honed in on the decorations stamping
leaves on the background then
embossing with the
We R Memory Keepers Geometric folder.
Added some leaves and a flower spray to the side.
The flamingo sentiment and leaves
are from Hampton Art
Finished with a light spray and coloured sequins.
I inked with the Altenew Red Cosmos set.

***
Then I saw another stamp set but was from overseas -
buying it because I loved the fun side of it and
hoping  it would arrive in time for this challenge.
I think this flamingo is saying
'Look at Me' I'm Cool...
I started with my background from
Memory Box Texture Wave
My 'cool' Flamingo is from
Inkadinkado and was coloured with
Tom Bow and Tim Holtz pens adding
Nuvo Drops and Crystal Glaze.
Sentiment is also from that stamp set.
My wavy sand was heat embossed with
Zing Brown Sugar which gives a really rough look.
I cut out my sun and sponged it adding a touch
of Inka Gold which I also smudged on the bulrushes.

So you have 2 cards to look at here. Bonus!

Thanks for dropping in.
By the way!
Have you popped over to see how our
Uber Talented August Guest Darnell
and the Team were inspired by that gorgeous photo?
Hope so and come join us.
You could be our Chic of the Week and in the running
to join us in October as our Guest.

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls

It's Saturday and time for a new challenge over at
Just Us Girls and Sue has chosen these
fabulous bright colours as our Host.

I recently bought a variety of dies and thought the one I chose
would be perfect for my cas card.

I cut the 3 colours above and glued them
(with great difficulty and will use JAC paper next time)
to white card stock. This was then attached to a
popped stitched die cut and onto the card base.
I then found the Berry Vine die cut from Kaisercraft on my desk
and was a perfect topping. Added a few coloured punched dots
and sentiment from Happy Little Stampers to finish.

Now pop over and see how our Guest Darnell and the Team
chose to use these 3 colours and come play.

Thanks for dropping in

Just Peeking In!

It's time for a new challenge over at Cardz4Galz
and Hosting this time is  Jan choosing Cats or Kittens.

I have this fabulous stamp set from Crackerjack Palace
which was just perfect!
I inked it up with SU Close to Cocoa then set it aside while I
went to work on my brick wall.
I embossed my Kaisercraft Brick folder onto Kraft card stock
then randomly added a couple of coats of white texture paste.
I did a bit more sponging to finish off the brick wall.
Sponged TH Antique Linen around the cat image then
attached it to brown card stock.
Added the sentiment and tore the edges to show my
peek a boo cat. Touched the eye with glossy accents.
Finished my sentiment inside.

And that's my card for this fortnight's challenge.
Hope you get a chance to pop over and see what
the Team created and come join in.

Thanks for dropping in

Meet 'Megan'

Meet 'Megan'

I love this big Julie Nutting stamp as it is perfect for paper piecing
and that is what the optional 'Twist' is this month at
Mix It Up Challenge. It is always Anything Goes
and if you love paper piecing - come join us this month
and if you just want to play that's fine too.
There's still a few weeks to go.

I rummaged through my odd bits of DP using
a large piece for the background and again for
attaching Megan. This was cut from TH Mixed Media.
I coloured Megan's flesh lightly and then got into
stamping her top and skirt then cutting various pieces
to paper piece. I even cut out her boots.
I haven't been in my flower supplies for an age and
once again they have come in handy for my floral spray.
They were placed in front of some Kaisercraft leaves.
Added the Beautiful die from CUTplorations
and finished with randomly scattered pearls.

Thanks for dropping by today.
Till next time Cherrrio from
