Colour Me a Poppy.

It's Just Us Girls Saturday and our Colour Week.
It's been quite some time since I got out my
Alcohol Inks to play and I really wanted to
make a bold statement with the colours
Nancy chose as our Hostess!
Got my supplies outside on the patio
and made a few backgrounds before
the heat sent me back inside.
The colours I used were Tim Holtz Stream, Aqua, Wild Plum
and Pinata Sunbright Yellow on yupo paper.
I cut out my base from the Memory Box Perky Poppy in bright yellow
then selected the inside colours.
I attached this to a teal frame and
cut a strip to add to the side adding yellow either side.
My die cut sentiment is from Crafts4U
(an Australian Site) picking suitable colours and placement.
Got out a hole punch adding the 3 main colours randomly to finish.

That's it for now but don't forget to check out
our Guest Greta and the Teams colourful creations.
Will we see yours in Our Gallery

Thanks for peeking!

Love you 'LOTS'

Hey there! Welcome to today's post for
Just Us Girls. This week we are Trending
and Bobby wants to see our background stamps.

We would all have a zillion to choose from.
My chose is an old favourite - SU Timeless Textures
and it really is 'timeless' and to feature with it
another oldie but a goodie - SU Botanical Blooms.
They have so much going for them.
The background stamping is SU Tip Top Taupe
as is my card base. Also added Tim's Peacock Feathers.
I cut out my flowers from the above set and
attached to the same coloured card stock to frame.
My sentiment is from STAMPlorations.
(a favourite also as I say it to my daughters
whenever I speak to them on the phone)
The flowers were finished with adding pearls.

Thanks for popping in - now pop over
and see what our Guest Greta and the Team created.

Eat 'CAKE' on your Birthday

It's that time of the month for the March
and it is a 'yummy one' and who doesn't love 'CAKE'
Hi and Welcome.to mine!

I decided to go bright here keeping with the
chocolate sponge then add some really hot pink icing!
heat embossing my cake in white
The chocolate is a variety of inks trying in vain to get
that deep dark chocolate colour but succeeded
with the icing using Nuvo Cherry Bomb Shimmer Powder
and applying it with a waterbrush.
I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze for the dollop of cream.
Cut a piece of white card stock with the popular
then added my sentiments from the above set
I popped my cake then adhered to a bright pink background
and on to the card base.
Finished with some bling on the squiggles!

It's 'Word Week' at Just Us Girls

HI there and Welcome to a New Month of Challenges at
Just Us Girls and to our March Guest Designer
Greta Hess from GG Creations
So glad to have you join us this month.

Our Host for our Word Week Challenge is Vicki
choosing an easy peasy one for us!

Why not let your hair down, maybe go
a bit wild or concervative with
soft and subtle? The choice is yours.
Here's what I chose.

My brother in law has a birthday soon so it was a
perfect time for me to go 'male'.
A pretty simple card cutting out
a variety of wood coloured designer papers.
(remember we had a challenge recently with wood)
While I still remembered them, I thought
 I would use them again.
I cut them out and attached randomly
to a brown background after I had
added some twine and knotted.
The Happy Birthday die is from CUTplorations
from one of the papers and I coloured the edges
to blend with the background.
Got out some matching brads then
finished with adhering to cream base.

Check out what our Guest Greta and the Team created
and come join in our Gallery.
You could be our Chic of the Week
and be in the running for
Guest Designer in May.

Thanks for coming by

Trying my hand at ATC's

Hello and Welcome! I ventured into another room
for this month's Anything Goes Challenge over at
and tried my hand at ATC's.
Now I am sure most are aware of what these
'little pieces of art are -  measuring 2.5" x 3.5"
Here are my fun makes! All very different.

Now a few close ups and how they were made!

I love using corrugated cardboard as you get a great effect
when tearing it apart. After I gesso-ed the back I added some
DecoArt Crackle Paint but hasn't shown up well.
I then got out Tim's Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
Alchemy Metallics in Emerald Green
and Rustic Brown for the background
and the Spellbinder Circles. Added some
plasters tape before attaching the circles
and popping the main one which has
an epoxe sticker attached that I have had
in my stash forever.

I took inspiration from an ATC I saw
from the talented Asia Marquet.
I started with my background of Orange Brusho's
Lindy's Gold Glory of the Seas Spray and
Art Alchemy Fresh Orange Metallic Paint.
These colours were also used for my cheesecloth
and fussy cut butterfly.
Some random inking from Finnabair in black ink
adding some Nuvo Repened Pumpkin Drops.
Sentiment is from AALL & Create - #39.

I got some blue tissue paper with some items I had bought online
and thought it perfect as a start to my background.
Scrunched it up and adhered to my canvas with Crackle Medium.
Once that was dry I swiped Tim's Oxide inks in blues.
(doing the same with the attached pocket)
My denim pocket is from CUTplorations and
I cut out a bigger piece as backing.
The die behind it is from Kaisercraft.
Fussy cut the two stamped paint brushes
from AALL & Create - #39
adding some gold splatters. Gold gelatos were
also added to the raised parts.
Sentiment is from SU.

Hope you liked my first ATC's.

It's Your Day to Shine.

We're marching in to March already and that means
A New Water Colour challenge over at

Our Optional Twist for March is

I've certainly gone all misty here
playing with my limited Lindy's Sprays.
I sprayed Gecko Green and Witches Potion Purple
with Tim's Mermaid Lagoon Distress Stain
 with water on to acetate
and adding to my watercolour paper.
I then heat embossed my sentiment in white and stars from
STAMPlorations in Memento Eldenberry.
Also flicked some iridescent medium to the background,
cut out with a stitched die and adhered to white card base.

Here's a closer look at the Sentiment.

My 'Free Post' for Art and Soul Studio.

As part of the Design Team over at
Art and Soul Mixed Media Blog
we do what's called a 'free post' where we can
make anything we like
as long as there are products you can find at

Here's the Mood Board again!

I purchased The Carabelle Mannequin Steam Punk Stamp
from the Studio and wanted to showcase it.
Started by using Canson 14lb watercolour paper to heat emboss
with Tim's Potting Soil.

I then coloured the image with
Nuvo shimmer Powder in Solar Flare,
Cherry Bomb, Catherine Wheel and some shimmer paints
I did a white wash to the background.

Added some cogs and a few circle dots
from Kaisercraft in glitter paper. A bit more bling with
pink gemstones, also Nuvo Copper Penny Drops.
Cut out with a stitched die and adhered to bright pink card base.

Just a quick post this time.
Items purchased from Art and Soul Studio
Carabelle Steam POunk Stamp

For 'Someone Special'

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
Just Us Girls
This week it's Photo Week
and our Host is Lisa.

I knew what stamp I wanted to use here and it is
SU Because I Care and I love the main stamp
being a hydrangea. It always has a variety of colours
and going with the Amethyst below was perfect.
(not to mention my favourite colour)

I inked up my watercolour paper with
Lindy's Witches Potion Purple Spray
and added the Magical's in the same colour
as they have this gorgeous shimmer to it.
I then cut out a zillion small flowers
from my MS hydrangea punch.
That done I put them aside to concentrate
on the rest of my card.
I chose SU Tip Top Taupe for the card base and frame
and also stamped the leaves/stem in the same colour.
This was on cream linen card stock.
Underneath the punched flowers the flower image
was stamped with Memento Sweet Plum as a guide.
I touched up the leaves with a hint of green.
My sentiment is from STAMPlorations Fluttery
This was popped for dimension.
Added a few gemstones, some ribbon
and a bit of Nuvo shimmer.

Pop over and see what our Special Guest Lisa Elton
and the Team created and come join us.
You could be Chic of the Week and
be our guest in April.
Thanks for dropping in

It's XOXO

It's been quite some time since I managed to play over at the
January flew by and now February is half way gone too.
So glad I got time to create a little something
suitable for both challenges. Yay!

My hearts have been die cut from
CUTplorations Clustered Hearts.
The base is white card stock and
the pink hearts are inked with
Nuvo Cherry Bomb Shimmer Powder
added to wet acetate then smooched
onto water colour paper.
The red hearts I added gel medium
to the die cuts and added a generous amount of
Nuvo Hollywood Red Sparkle Dust.
I even managed to get a bit of texture to the big one.
which has been cut several times with white card stock
for dimension then attaching the red sparkly one.
I cut my pink background with a stitched die
popped to my card base which was inked randomly with
tiny hearts from SU Beyond the Basics.
I then attached my cut out hearts.
The XOXO is from STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms
inked with Tim's Festive Berries
and adding sparkle with a Nuvo Glitter pen.
A tiny pearl to the smallest pink heart finished my card.

A close up showing the dimension.

My Mix is Dimensional Die Cuts, Glitter,
Watercolouring, Stamping.

Thanks for popping in and leaving
your kind comments.

It's ' Blooming '

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
It's our Colour Week hosted by Maria
and a popular one for sure!

I chose to move in a different direction away from the popular
Valentine's Day choice for February
with these colours and make a Birthday Card.
It's a pretty simple card focusing on that beautiful
flower die from SU Botanical Blooms.
I love that set as there is so much you can do with it.
It was die cut from a shimmery red paper and my
tiny pink flowers hiding behind it are also shimmery.
The leaves are grey as is the frame
behind my embossed Kaisercraft Leaves.
Added some pink washi tape, red pearls
and my sentiment and die from STAMPlorations Fluttery

Pop over and see what our Special Guest Lisa Elton
and the Team created and come join us in our Gallery.

Pretty Pink Project for Art and Soul

We have a gorgeous feminine Mood Board for February
over at Soul Sisters Facebook site.
There are 3 $50 Vouchers to be won for our
Australian viewers and the chance to be a
Guest Designer for our overseas entries.

I chose to pick a flower from our Mood Photo
and bling up my project.

I started my project by adding Gesso to my base.
Then inking some tissue paper with a script stamp
and scrunching it up as a layer for my flower.

Continued on my background with my
Stamperia stencil with texture paste
and adding some grunge stamping.
Smooched with Nuvo Shimmer Powder
and Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers.
Added some plasters tape (dry wall)
to help hold my bling in place.
I then went on to make my pink flower with
Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Dies
with  Nuvo Catherine Wheel Shimmer Powder

After gluing several together I added the centre stamens
and lots of gold glitter.
Sponged it with Nuvo Mousse.
Putting that aside I continued with the background.
Here I had  fun adding some inked tulle,
flowers, prills, beads, diamond dust,
mini art stones inked with Art Alchemy Emerald Green paint,
pearls and gold thread.

A few close ups -

Finished with attaching my flower.
