I'm Hosting 'Wild Card Week' at Just Us Girls

Wild Card Week only comes around when we have
5 Saturday's in a Month and it is my turn to be 'Hostess'

I have chosen something a little different to the norm -
and a whole lot of fun!
It was for me as I decided to make a really special
card for my sister. She is the patch worker and I am the
paper maker. With that said here is my shaped card.

I have this fabulous stamp sets from SU - Sew Suite
and IBS - Vintage Thread which were just PERFECT.
I cut the apron shape by hand and layered it with
Kaisercraft Vintage Timeless DP that had
script and images from old style dress pattern instructions.
The sentiment is from GKD and cut from
Spellbinders Circles and backed.
My apron front has a scrap piece of dp
and sitting behind it is a pack of buttons -
the orange one is one I got from my sister's stash
when I visited her recently.
Added a spool of cotton and pins.
The lace around it too
I am sure is also from her house.
The little tiny piece of ric rac I bought
while visiting her a few years back.
It is so annoying when your photo doesn't show the real colours.
The thread and ric rac really are lavender and close to the
colour of the apron strings.
As you can see there are happy memories here.
The tiny lavender bow is something I have had
for an age. Goes to show all those items you need
do come in handy down the track.
(think that is as Aussie saying)

As I said earlier I had so much fun making this card
and will be sent to my sister with all my love in it.
Shame I can't send it till the end of July!

Thanks for taking the time to read my longish post.

Don't forget to check our blog HERE
to see what shaped or fold cards our Guest Angie
and the Design Team have created.
Hope to see yours there.

It's What If? Wednesday at 'The House'

it is Sketch Time.
Details Here
I tend to struggle with sketches so it is
good to challenge yourself and have a go.
That is exactly what I did and pretty happy
how my card turned out.
I seem to have a fascination with
heat embossing and the emboss resist technique.
I thought this lovely little stamp from
Repeat Impression Wild Violets (RI 1706I)
stands out nicely with the background.
Here are the other products I used -
Basic white card stock
Scrap pieces of Designer Paper from my stash
(and haven't we all got lots of them)
Also scrap plain coloured paper
Spellbinder Circle Dies
Memento Peanut Brittle/Pistachio
and Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet
for my sponging.
Heat Embossing in White
Liquid Pearls on the flower centres
Tiny pearl on Sizzix butterfly die.
Sentiment is from GKD
punched from an EK Success punch.

A Few Feathers for You!

Here I am again participating over at
for their Colour Challenge.

I thought it was time to get my
SU Four Feathers (Thanks Maria)
off the shelf again and play with them
for this challenge.
The colours I used here were -
SU Baja Breeze
Close to Cocoa and
Calypso Coral which I though
was my closest colours to match.
***
I inked up numerous feathers in
different colours to see which ones
looked the best. I decided on one
plain colour and the other 2 from
blending the 3 colours on my kraft mat.
Behind the feathers I made my background
from Tim Holtz Speckles Stencil
again using the 3 colours.
Continuing on I thought the top
looked a bit plain so did
some paper piercing.
Sentiment is from JustRite.
Finished off with a button and
cotton from my stash.

Beautiful Days

As soon as I saw this picture
a2016
I knew exactly what stamp I was
going to use on my card I made
to enter the current
Photo Inspiration Challenge over at
The House that Stamps Built
(and used by some of the Rock Stars)
Details - Here

I started with Kraft card stock
then inking randomly it with Versamark
using RI stamp - 1309 Easter Lily.
The side background has been added
with a piece of paper using the
 shaving cream technique.
My focal image is RI - Daffodils 904W
and coloured with Faber Castell pencils
cut from Spellbinders - Romantic Rectangles
 sponged and popped.
The beautiful sentiment is from RI Beautiful Days
inked on vellum.
Added some lace and ribbon from my stash
finishing with a few pearls.

Thanks for dropping in.
