Time to Colour at Just Us Girls

Our Super Talented Sharyn is Hosting our
Colour Challenge this week and has chosen
one with such bright and inviting colours.
Does it remind you of those All Day Suckers that
used to be so popular or am I showing my age?
My card was super simple to make
because I found some brightly coloured DP in my stash
(perfect match) and went with it.

I started my card with a white base then topped it with bright pink
scrapbooking paper then attached my coloured paper
The Happy Birthday is a new Sentiment Die
I bought at a recent Craft show
and is from Impression Obsession.
Added some multi coloured cotton and tied a bow, a variety of
different coloured gems and a Sizzix butterfly to finish.

And there you have it - my
Brightly Coloured Birthday Card.

Don't forget to pop over HERE
and see what inspired the DT and
our July Guest Linda Beeson
See you there!

Thanks for dropping in

I'm Flying High for the Inspiration Challenge at The House

I am loving the new Inspiration challenge over at
The House that Stamps Built.
You can see all the details Here

There are 2 gorgeous photos to inspire us but I chose the one below.

I just happened to have some hot air balloon stamps
so it was time to get them out and ink them up.
I am even lucky enough to have recently added
the tiny bird stamp from Repeat Impressions
to my collection. How cool that I got to use it here.

I love trying to make scenes and of course with hot air balloons
that is exactly what I needed to do.
I masked both sides of my card to just have
a small part as the scene.
The hot air balloons were given to me by a friend
and I don't know who they are from.
Added the clouds in Memento Sky Blue
the grass mound in Memento Pistachio
The Birds (Repeat Impressions 3412) and the small balloon
are inked with Tim Holtz Broken China
The larger one I used Memento Love Letter.
I also used Spellbinders Circles/Lacey Circles
The sentiment (sorry it is too light
and too scared to reink even though I would
used my stamp a ma gig )
is from Hampton Art.
The grass from Gina K Designs.

Hope you liked my little scene - look so inviting.
My daughter was lucky enough to go up in a
hot air balloon while on holiday to Africa.

So that is it for now.
Thanks for stopping by.

Colour Throwdown Challenge #351

I found the most gorgeous colour challenge over at
and it has my favourite colour combination

Don't you just love it!
Best of all I got to use my most favourite stamp.

Being a Scot I love thistles and some years ago
while visiting my Homeland I bought the stamp
that is on this card.
I tried different ways to highlight it but came up with
the shaving cream technique.
I heat embossed the stamp which is from Heritage Stamps
in black after I had fun playing with the
shaving cream. My craft room smells nice again.
I used Stampin' Up Rich Razzleberry and
Pink Food Colouring for my 2 colours.
Here are the other products I used -
White & Black card stock
Black embossing powder
Spellbinders  Petite Ovals/Scallop Ovals
and Labels 18
Best Wishes is cut from a Cherry Lynn Die
Kaisercraft Pearls and Own Ribbon.
Image has been popped.

Thanks for dropping by.
I would love to read your comments.

Crafty Ribbons Bicycle Challenge

I found a new challenge recently and knew I had the perfect stamp
to enter the Bicycle with Ribbon Challenge at Crafty Ribbons

You don't often associate a bicycle with ribbon but I am really
happy how my card turned out.
I love playing around with backgrounds and getting my fingers
all inky especially when you get a great result.
I love the bright colours I used and it made the
embossed stamp really stand out.
Used several colours of card stock to match
I embossed my Stampin' Up Postage Due stamp with
black embossing powder then got inky with
Tim Holts Peacock Feathers/Bundled Sage and
Seedless Preserves
The small floral image next to my ribbon is also from
Stampin' Up - Fresh Vintage cut with
Spellbinders Square Die
Sentiment is from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps
Added  a crinkled piece of ribbon - love the look
Distressed the edges of my main image and background paper
and finished with a black pearl.

That's it for me for now so till next time
