It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday post for
Just Us Girls
It's our Trend Week and Hosting is Angie
and looking for

Started by smooching watercolour card stock with
Tim's Oxide Inks then got out my
very old Tim Holtz Tattered Florals,
die cut several flowers, shaped and layered them,
adding Art Alchemy waxes to add more colour.
The centre had twine wrapped around then I
adhered coloured art stones and a touch of shimmer.
Die cut my Kaisercraft leaves and attached to
a cut out striped background and card base.
Finished with a smooched sentiment die cut
several times for depth.

Pop over and see lots more stripes from our Guest Betty
and my Talented Team Mates.
Hope your eyes don't go funny after checking them out.
Come join us this week and you could be our
Chic of the Week and in the running for our
Guest Designer in April.
Thanks for dropping in

My Colourful Make Over

Welcome to today's post.
It's a New Year of Mixed Media over at
Creative Artiste Mixed Media
and we are welcoming a New Designer
and so excited that Super Talented Jo
is joining our Team. Check out her blog Let's Art Journal.

Over the Christmas break I was looking for my hardly ever used
washi tapes (mostly given to me by my granddaughter)
for something or other which were
in a box a friend had sent me with craft goodies.
It was then that I decided it needed a make over.

As you can see it was pretty ordinary but a lovely solid box.
Not the easiest thing to photograph so bear with me
with the photos I took along the way.

After applying gesso all over I added
Textured Sand Paste randomly and some stenciling
with Tim Holtz Stone Stencil.
Continuing on I added my bits and bobs of
chipboard pieces, punchenella, cheescloth
and clear rock candy crackle paste.
Adding colour with Lindy's Magical's in
Witches Potion Purple. Caribbean Blue
and Blue Hawaiian Blue.

Added a die cut  and heat embossed sentiment
which was inked accordingly.
Finished it off by adding
Art Alchemy Mermaid Sparkle Sparks and Waxes -
Heather Hills, Peacock, Rose Robes,
Cosmic Shimmer in Patina and Frosted Heather.
Now some photos in no particular order.

It was so nice to have a big break over
Christmas/New Year but now
anxious to get messy in a creative way again.
Thanks for dropping in and don't forget to
pop over and see what my
Really Talented Team Mates created
and Welcome Jo to our flock.
Hope to see you in the Gallery.

Till next time - Cherrio

Sharing the Love for Try It On Tuesday

The New Challenge Theme over at
I'm not a Valentine type person so went
for a simple Love You card that I can
 give to someone special.

I played with my favourite Visible Image
Creative Chaos Stamp Set and enjoyed going grungy.
I started with my background smooching
with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke.
Added some grunge stamping from STAMPlorations
and then painted down one side with
diluted black gesso.
Heat embossing first with Zing Charcoal
then that gorgeous flower with Ranger Black.
Did the same again on watercolour paper
that had been inked with Lindy's Powders and Brusho's.
Attached the popped flower after I
added Nuvo Glitter in red.
Flicked some ink and coloured some of the
circles with Liquid Pearls.
Sentiment is from Altenew.
Corner rounded one side and attached to
basic white card stock.

Here's a close up.

I'm not sure if this is CAS enough for the
in adding to the Gallery for the red and black theme,
and most of all I had 'fun' making it.

Thanks for dropping in to check my card out.
Love reading your comments.
Till next time Cherrio from

I'm Guest Designing at CAS Mix Up Challenge

I was tickled pink when I was chosen as the Top Pick
for the Oxidized Metal Challenge in November
 Bonnie and Loll have kindly
invited me to be their February Guest for

What a fun challenge this was.
Certainly got my thinking cap on.
Of course there are a few tutorials included
to help you with which way you want to go.
I started with cutting my
Kaisercraft Textured Weathered die with acetate
and inked over it with Tim's Oxide Peeled Paint.
I then cut out another die, inking with VersaMark
and adding Little Birdie Frosty Fizz Embossing Texture Paste
heating it till it bubbles up.
To add a little extra I cut the same die with a scrap of pink paper
then added Art Alchemy Royal Robes Wax,
popping it on top slightly to the side.
Sentiment is from SU Lotus Blossom
inked with Memento Angel Pink.
Kicking myself as I should have inked
it in a darker colour.
Added some splatters, inked the edges
and attached to card base.

Thought I would show you the dies and stencil cut outs.

My Mix is Die Cut Stencils, Stamping, Sponging,
Splatters, Heat Embossing, Waxing.

Be sure to pop over and see what the
Talented Designer's created for your pleasure
and join in this month's Super Mix Up Challenge.

Sending this CAS card over to Try It On Tuesday
and fits in with the White Space requirement.

Thanks for dropping in and love reading your thoughts.
I'll pop back later in the month to give you a Reminder
for the CAS Mix Up Challenge.
