Just Us Girls Mood Board.

It's Just Us Girls Mood Board Week.
Welcome - Our Host this week is Vicki and has chosen
a beautiful seaside scene for inspiration.
How could you not be !

A Bigger View!

I got out a really old JustRite Poppies stamp
inking with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, heat embossed clear
colouring with Brusho's Brilliant Red/Leaf Green
with a touch of Lindy's Cuckoo Clock Cardinal
onto canvas paper - hence the photo looks a little blurry (sorry)
Background is coloured with Brusho's Ost Blue.
Centres are touched up with black and gold posca pens.
Sentiment is from the poppy stamp set.
Die cut with my arch dies and framed in black
onto white card base, hand cut and folded at top.
Head over and check out how our Guest Joanne
and the Team were inspird by that lovely
seaside scene with those beautiful poppies
and come join in with yours.

Let's Here it for the Boys!

Our  New Cut It Up Challenge is LIVE!
and it's all about creating something Masculine

I knew I wanted bold colours to go with the die cut cogs
I was going to go with.
I landed up with allsorts of colour using gold paper
paints and spray stain. Heat embossed clear
then inked with VersaFine Clair Pinecone.
The background is dp.
Sentiment from ARTplorations is
die cut in coloured papers to match. Birthday stamped, cut and popped.
Attached to coloured card base.
Check out what my Talented Team Mates
created for their Masculine Make and
created something for the male member in your life
and add to our Gallery.

1 2 3 and so on...

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls.
Our Host Carol M is asking us to use a
NUMBER on our card.

I think I got that covered LOL!
Had a bit of fun with the background
using a bit of stencilling, inking and stamping
with Tim's OX Hickory Smoke.
It didn't come out as I wanted
but I think it looks better that if the images were clear.
Script stamping is Versafine Clair Cheerful.
The beautiful floral image is from
AALL&Create Delight in Flora coloured with
Lindy's Yellow Rose of Texas,
Tim's Mowed Lawn and Forest Moss.
Sentiment is from AALL&Create Power of the Word set.
Framed in black onto yellow card base.
Head over and see how our Guest Joanne
and the Team worked their numbers
and join in the fun by adding yours to our Gallery.

My Creative Mixed Media Make

It's time for my monthly Mixed Media Make for
I had a lot of fun creating this piece
(including the most colourful fingers)
with a whole bunch of different mixed media products
which spread all over my desk and beyond.
Luckily some were able to be put back in their rightful spot
before continuing on another day.

I started by picking my colours using
Tim's oxide's in Crackling Campfire and Peacock Feathers
through my new AALL&Create Cherry Drift stencil
flipping it first and inking then
reinked it and coloured

Adding some extra colour with
Art Alchemy Metallic Fresh Orange
and Emerald Green paint.

The inky fingers came from the hours spent
colouring my TH dragonfly
using them to get coverage on the ox inks
before starting on the dramatic colours below.

Here's the products that cluttered my desk
Stampendous Aged Copper Enamel,
Lindy's Pumpkin Fiesta E/P, Gecko Green Spray,
Tim's Ground Espresso,
AA Mint Sparkle and Patina Green Wax.
Some were used on a sheet of W/C paper
for my Spellbinder Hexagons
with some added random stamping

Next I will add a couple of floral dies to place
behind the dragonfly.

I inked the edges of my project and
the hexagons, added some gold posca splatters,
a strip of washi tape,
some cheescloth behind the flowers
 and one of Tim's Quotations.
Attached the dragonfly with a pearl to the centre.
Decided not to add the other piece of the die
as it covered up the bright orange tail.

Embossed some metallic paper with
Couture Creations E/F, framed with orange leathergrain c/s
framed with the metallic paper
and again matching coloured paper and onto cardboard backing.
Attached brads and paper clip with added patina wax.

Here's a few close ups -

And there you  have it!
Oh and it finally finished at  7/12" by 9''
Head over and see what our Guest Betta and my Talented Team Mates
created to  get your mixed media juices flowing
like mine did
and join in with yours to our Gallery.
You have a whole month to play!

Just Us Girls Die Week

It's Die Week at Just Us Girls
to start off our Weekly Challenges
and as Host I chose to
incorporate ''Layers'' on our die cards.
A New Month also brings our
New Guest Designer and a warm welcome to
Joanne James from The Crafty Owl

Here's my Layered Die Cut Card.

I saw this layered card Here and loved it so decided to case it.
I knew I had some lovely DP from way back by
Inspired by Stamping - Spring Lilacs that would be perfect.
Die cut my Spellbinder circles then some script stamping
from Stampendous Script Lines. Placed the pretty paper
behind them and one in front (includng a frame) and popped.
The flower inked with TH Dusty Concord,
 cut several times and leaves
are from Sizzix Floral Frame Thinlits.
Added some inked cheesecloth and
tiny art stones. Finished with adding a
strip of the DP to the bottom on an angle.
Head over and check out how our Talented Guest Joanne
and Team Mates chose to inspire you like they do weekly
and join us with your Layered Die Cut Card.

Lindy's Magical's as was the die cut frames in the background.
Added a simple white stem.
The detailed stencil I only just received and
knew it would make a striking feature.

Creative Chaos!

It's Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls
and our Host Carol M gave us a
super colourful fun one to play around with.

I did have a bit of fun with this mood board
and after a few attempts got something
similar to what I was aiming for.
Found a few 'splat' stamps and inked them up
with Versafine Clair colours to match the board.
I even stopped myself from adding tiny splatters.
Stamp is from Visible Image - Creative Chaos.
Shame the sentiment didn't come out clearer.
Die cut the frame, backed with
bright yellow on to white card base.
Our Guest Rosemary and the Team
have created such a fabulous array of creativity
so head over and check them out.
I am sure you will want to join in and
add yours to our Gallery. Why not!

Sending this off to the Designer's Choice HOT challenge at
with my brightly coloured card .

I Picked These For You...

Vicki is Hosting our Word Week at Just Us Girls
and chose FRUIT.

Some time ago I was browsing with my daughter
in a bed store and came across a pack of napkins
with the above pears and of course I thought of
Vicki's FRUIT Challenge.
I peeled off the layers behind the fruit
and scrunched it up to create some texture.
I then fussy cut out extra pears
touched up with rusty brown matte wax
around the edges and popped to the napkin.
String added down the side.
Framed in blue to match the flowers
then an embossed back (a little hard to see)
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations.
Finished with attaching to white square card base.
Head over and check out what fruit our Guest Rosemary
and the Team chose to use on their cards.
Hope to see yours in our Gallery.

Lots of Love!

I do love a Colour Challenge and recently
found a New One to me at
and I loved the colour choice and went about
creating my card.

I came across the lovely flower die while I was
sorting out my die cut folders and it just went from there.
I inked up a couple of pieces of w/c paper
with my go to Lindy's Magical's
Tibetan Poppy Teal, Tainted Love Teal
and Afternoon Delight Denim.
Die cut lots of leaves etc from a variety of suppliers
including some turquoise card stock.
Background has a cover plate for interest,
adding two circle frames with the smaller middle piece
popped with the sentiment and edge inked with
Versafine Clair Warm Breeze.
Finished with some tiny pearls to centre of flowers
and adhered to turquoise card base.

I had a lot of fun with these colours and time permitting
will ink up another totally different one before this challenge closes.

Sending this over to Crafty Catz using the option
of May Flowers
Cardz 4 Galz #249 Flowers and
with my Blooms.
Challenge #25 April Showers/May flowers

Dream, Inspire, Be strong.

It's a CAS piece for Creative Artiste Mixed Media this month
as I got a few new AALL&Create stamp sets that were on sale
here in Australia. Always on the lookout for them as they are
expensive and I love quite a few of the older ones.
So of course I had to ink up one from my wish list.

I started my background inking up on w/c paper
with Tim's oxide ink and Nuvo Powder
then stamping my AALL&Create Brush Flower #234
with Versafine Clair Nocturne and heat embossing clear.

Then adding stencilling from ARTplorations
and inking in the centre of a few circles.

Die cut a black circle to highlight the flower head.

A bit more stamping here and there and around the edges.
Sentiments were cut from AALL&Create Power of the Word #754
(love that set with so many words to choose from)
highlighted with a cheesecloth backing.

and again with the finished piece.

Head over and check out the talent of our
Guest  Pauline from Passion for Papercraft
and amazing Team Mates -
be inspired by their makes, then join in
with yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting and love reading your kind comments.
