Happy Birthday!

It's time to get out our embossing folders
this week as this is the WORD our Host Bobby chose
for Word Week at Just Us Girls

This was an easy one for me as the
embossed piece I used here has been sitting
on my desk for 'ages'.
I had used this 3d embossing folder a while back
and this one was a spare.
(shame you can't see the depth of the background)
Added a variety of powders, spraying water gently
on to w/c paper, closing the folder
and running it through my die cutting machine.
Added the big HB die cut matching the background
and popping it onto black card base to complete.
Head over and check out what our Guest Milla
and the Team created with their embossing folders
and come join in with yours.

Nature's Mixed Media

It's the first Friday of March (already)
and time for our New AG Mixed Media Challenge at

Once again I had fun creating my project for your pleasure.
The cuttings behind it are crotons cut from my garden and
thought I would put them in a pot and hopefully take root
and add more colour to my garden.
It wasn't till I wanted to photograph them that
they came in as a perfect backkdrop.
My Cricut came in handy to cut my pillow box
from soft dp, inking the edges and stamping my florals

more stmping from Tim's Ledger Script, Faded Type
and Wildflowers
(I cut two boxes just in case)

Put together and add an inked stenciled strip

Moving on -
inking the florals in bright distress inks and glaze,
another strip and torn inked and stamped cs
to place behind my flower and cheesecloth.
Added some prills to both pieces.
STAMPlorations sentiment to my card.
Also added some finishing touches to the pillow with
wire, cheesecloth and a popped inked number for interest.

and a few close ups...

That's it for another month from me - now
head over to Our Blog to be inspired by what our Team
created this month.
Look forward to seeing your MM creation in our Gallery.

On a sad note
We wish our Team Mate Jo all the best
as she bids us farewell for now.
Her talents will be missed by us all.

A personal note!
I have so enjoyed the pleasure of being a
part of the Team with you Jo and
hope the future hold much happiness for you.

I started with DO smooched background
in twisted citron, peeled paint and
rustic wilderness.
Inked up leaves (as above) from Kaisercraft and
STAMPlorations Beautiful You.
Die cuts are Sizzix Thinlits from Lisa Jones.
Die cut sentiment is from 49&Market.
Added LOTS of splatters to the die cut background
and adhered to white card base.
Head over and see what is in store for you from
our Guest Milla
and the Talented Team.

Thinking of You...

It's Stencil Week at Just Us Girls
and I am Host.

While on holiday recently I bought some
Cosmic Shimmer Razzmatazz Lustre Polish
and was eager to try it out with
my ARTplorations Onion in Raw stencil.
Inked and heat embossed one of Tim's Abstract Florals
and fussy cut and adhered another head
and two leaves from some DP.
The sentiment is from that set and tore the edges
adding another piece to the back.
Included some black thread for interest.
Attached to black card base.
Our Guest Denise and The Team have created their
stencil cards for your inspiration so head off and create yours
and add to our Gallery.

There's Always Time for TEA!

It's  Just Us Girls Mood Board Week and
the Lovely Lisa has us swooning over her
gorgeous fluffy cup of lovely-ness.

Just had to show you the big picture first!

Now here is my cup of tea.

I had fun picking out colours to use on
Tim's Cafe Colorize tea cup.
I chose several pink tones as is on our Mood Board cup
and a touch of grey from Bazzill card stock.
I started with the TCW Mini Flex Flower stencil
adding texture paste to the side.
The sentiment is from
STAMPlorations Always Tea Time stamped on
Spellbinders Floral Ovals die cut.
Attached some lace (something I haven't done for a long time)
and glued the tiny stars from the above die
After I had put my tea cup together
I added Liquid Pearls then a small die cut flower
and some grey leaves.
Framed in grey and attached to pink card base.
Check out how our Guest Denise and The Team
took their inspiration from that delicious Mood Board
and I am sure you will want to play then
add to our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting.

Living Life!

Hello and Welcome back to a New Year of Mixed Media at

Here is my Mixed Media Make that came together
by chance with another challenge in mind. As I played on
I knew it was perfect for our challenge.

As a result I wasn't taking progress photos.
I started with a cardboard back covered with gesso.
I then coloured with Lindy's Magical's
then again with  stencil work from AALL&Create Mock Croc
and reversed for more effect.
Also used the same stencil for the crackle effect.
Cut out some coloured hollyhock dies and branches.
Inked some random Ledge Script stamping  from Tim Holtz.
Sentiment stamp is from AALL&Create Lotus Clusters,
torn around the edges, inked and popped. Ruffled the edges
of the main piece.
Added a bunch of thread and a heart to finish
(but no)  I decided to adhere to a 5in by 7in canvas panel.
I wanted more colour.
I had one that had texture paste on it
and coloured it up with a whole lot of product.
A quick run down on colours used -
Lindy's Witches Potion Purple
Have a Scone Heather
Tim's Villainous Potion
VersaFine Clair Nocturne/Monarch..

Here's a few close ups

My talented Team Mates have also been busy
creating over our hiatus and are looking forward to
checking them out and leaving kind comments.
Now it is your turn to have some fun and add your
Mixed Media with multiple mediums to our Gallery.

Thank you for taking time to visit and leave a comment.
They are truly inspiring and encouraging.

Love HEARTS!

We are all Heart this week at Just Us Girls
As it is the Month of Love our Host Sue chose
it as part of our Die Week.
A New Month bring in our February Guest
Denise Morgans from The Crafty Den - Welcome!

I went with traditional red for my
Heart Die Cut card.
Die cut a bunch of white circles and a single red
from MFT, a spray of red hearts and a single
one which I added a shadowed love sentiment.
Behind that is grey for extra colour and white cheesecloth
Added a leftover tiny heart to one of the main stems
with Nuvo shimmer.
Attached to white card base to complete.
Check out how Denise and The Team chose
to display their Die Cut Heart Cards and
join in with yours.

Happy Birthday!

Welcome to today's post for  Just Us Girls
and my turn to be Host.
As we do when there are five weeks in a month
we have fun with our Case a DT Challenge
You case one of our Design Team's cards
and tell us which Designer you chose.

I saw This Card on Pinterest
and loved the coloured card base
and the simple but again colourful strip
from an Alcohol Ink play.
So in fact I case-d that card.
I'm sure we all have a plentiful supply
of these gorgeous makes and this is one
from my bits box.
I found a big sentiment die
which has a back making it
easy to attach to the popped side panels.
Head over and see what the Design Team
created for your inspiration and choose one
to add to our Gallery.
