Crafting with Dragonflies - Challenge #7 - It's a WEDDING BLOG HOP

Hello again from

Dragonfly Design Team Badge

OUR NEW CHALLENGE -  A WEDDING BLOG HOP

I am really excited about our very first blog hop
and I am sure you will have a lot of fun along the way.

For our 7th Challenge we are doing something different.

Besides having a blog hop we have a cryptic quiz for you to work out -
it is really easy lol

What you need to do is
Grab yourself a cuppa and maybe something yummy to go with it (chocolate)
as this challenge has a bit of reading.

Now your settled we can get started -

Gather the words for the quiz that you will find HIDING somewhere in our write up about our weddings and put them together in the rhyme that I am sure you all know.
When you have worked it out let us know on the
CHALLENGE BLOG (COMMENTS) that you have completed the BLOG HOP
and email the rhyme to Susan at suhogan@gmail.com
and add Wedding Blog Hop in the Subject Line.

A LITTLE ABOUT MY WEDDING

As money was tight when I got married I was not able to afford everything new
so I decided to add a flower to my old shoes.
Nobody would notice or know as you don't really look
too closely at the bride's shoes.

I chose to make my card in a Vintage type style and colour
mainly because it was some years ago and I didn't wear a traditional white dress.
I wore cream and was lucky enough to know someone
who had a cream veil so I managed to borrow hers.
My bridesmaids were also a little different by wearing 2 different shades of pink.

I have very few wedding photos as most of them were destroyed by
Cyclone Tracy which destroyed Darwin on Christmas Eve 1974.
This is why I decided to do something a little fancy here
and this card will be placed in a shadow box.

So without further ado here is my Wedding Card.

A fabulous card and a special photo - didn't know you were in Tracy, must have been very scary. I remember waking up to the news - we were horrified. Your card can be a special memento of your wedding day for you and your family now.

It's always fun to look at wedding photo's trying to work out the year by looking at the fashions and hairstyle. Such a pity you lost most of yours.

A Christmas Eve Cyclone? How awful. Now that's a real story of survival, physical and emotional. This is so beautiful, I love the layers and frames and the inside is such a creative use of your image. Such a lovely picture!

Fabulous card... Thank you for sharing your memories. Heartbreaking that you don't have many photos left but this will make a great display in the shadow box.

Lovely card. I was only little when Cyclone Tracey went through but the man who gave me away (my dad's mate) had to go and help restore things so his family came and stayed with my family for a while. Thank you for sharing.

Love the card. The inside is as lovely as the outside. The cream on cream look is so gorgeous and makes a lovely foil for the picture. Makes it look antique. Thanks for sharing the story.
