It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls
and Sue is Hosting.
She has picked one of my favourites
Vellum.
I have seen a number of cards similar to my card on Pinterest
and have always wanted to make my version.
This was a perfect time to do so.
I started my card with kraft card stock as my base
then added navy and turquoise paper.
I used Stampin' Up Inspired by Nature stamp set for
my background flower that I inked with
Memento Paris Dusk spritzed with water and
stamped onto turquoise paper.
Sponged a little ink on the centre of the flower.
The stems (from the same stamp set)
are heat embossed on vellum in white
and roughly torn for effect.
I cut out 2 butterflies from a Cherry Lynn die -
one in white and the second (a little hard to see) in vellum.
Added a few small punched circles on the body and
a touch of Stardust Stickles.
Continued with some white brads
and navy ribbon.
The sentiment is from Gina K Designs
and cut from McGill Vintage Label Punch.

Fun use of the vellum -- I like the torn look too
Beautifully done and love the blue, white and kraft combination.
Ina, I love the soft, elegant feel to this card. Sometimes I forgot about the paper tearing technique, which you've used beautifully here!

Thanks for sharing this with us. It is a very different way to use the vellum, but very creative. Love it.
Beautiful card, Ina. I love the way you have used the Vellum.
Such a beautiful use of the vellum here. I love everything about this card, especially it's gorgeous color!!
Ina, this is absolutely gorgeous! I love how you embossed and tore the vellum and layered over the flower background.
