What's the 'WORD' at Just Us Girls?

Once again it is 'Word Week' at
Just Us Girls and Sharyn is our Host
choosing LEAVES as 'The Word'

It's getting that time of the year over the pond called 'Fall'
and I am celebrating 'Spring' -
however to keep in line with the challenge
I have made my card using gilding flakes
in what I call 'Autumn' colours.
Now anyone that has used these flakes knows
the mess you can get yourself into -
gluing the shaped dies with the flakes
(don't breathe out)
and making sure you have covered them all.
I really did get messy with this card because
after I successfully glued flakes to my fingers
I cleaned them off just to get inky again
with my background.
Those leaves I think turned out beautifully
and needed a background to match.
Using a Memory Box stencil I painted it up
with Inka Gold using my fingers yes my fingers
to give it a little dimension.
I popped it up after it was dry also popping
those leaves from an old  Cuttlebug die.
Added some coloured cotton
and that very American sentiment from GKD
Finished with some gems.
***
I really did enjoy making this card -
after all what's fun if you
don't get a bit messy just sometimes.
***
Now pop over to Our Blog to admire
what our Guest for October - Jaydee
and the Team have made.
Join us and you could be our
Chic of the Week and in the running for
Guest Designer in December.
***
It so happens that over at
Mod Squad their challenge is Falling Leaves
so I am joining in the fun there with this card.

Thanks for dropping in.

EGAD Ina, you have outdone yourself here. This is beyond stunning. I just got some of those gilding flakes and haven't really used them yet. Can't wait to pull them out and get all messy now. And yes, it IS messy. I adore your design, it's ridiculously gorgeous. I'm pinning right now!!!

I am drooling over those leaves, Ina. If only our Fall leaves could be gilded like that. ;) The gold in the background is a beautiful addition.

Ina, I love the glittering leaves cascading down your card. Especially against the simplicity of the background. Stunning. Thank you for your warm welcome, too:-)

Jaw dropping drool over here. I just love the metallic leaves and background. I know what you mean about flakes going everywhere. I have to sit in 90 degree heat if I want to use these and make sure no fans or ac are on, and no inhaling/exhaling lol. That's about when a cat jumps up on everything. So kudos to you Ina!!!!!

Truly amazing! I love those gilded leaves and the Inka Gold with the stencil makes the perfect backdrop. In my opinion, this was well worth the mess!
