It's a Twofer Butterfly Challenge

Hello and Welcome to  today's post.
If you have been checking up on me lately
you will know I have had butterfly images
floating around my blog quite a bit lately.
Now who doesn't love them. We have so many
in our stash it is hard to choose just which ones to play with - and
The Twofer Card Challenge prompt is just that!
Off course I made time to play and here are my
Twofer Butterfly Cards.

I tried to think of something out of the ordinary
BUT that flew out of the window with some of my butterflies.
So mine are the 'conventional' sort.

For my first card I went a bit grungy here
with my trusty Brusho's. I love the result
you get with the black and added orange and yellow
to the mix. I used acetate to move the colours around.
I even added a bit of  Gelatos Gold Champaigne
and some Burnt Orange Magicals.
I stamped my butterfly with black embossing powder
and also a spare to pop blending in with the same colours
as my background and fussy cut.
Stamped a couple of plain butterfly images
from STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies
in Tim's Black Soot. Sentiment is also
from the same set.
To add interest I randomly inked some Kaisercraft Script.
This was all cut from a stitched die and
attached to black card stock.

For my second card I started by adding some
dry wall tape to a piece of kraft card stock
and layered it with DecoArt Crackle Paste
leaving it to dry then decided to pull the tape off
and was happy with the result. This was cut with
a Sizzix Banner and popped. My background is a mix
from SU Timeless Textures in
Tim's Abandoned Coral and Prima Marketing Bare inks.
I heat embossed my butterfly in white and smooched/dried
in Abandoned Coral and again fussy cut.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms.
This was cut with a stitched die and adhered to
Kraft card stock to finish.
***
Just in case you aren't familiar with this challenge
you make 2 cards with the same stamp/die
 but for 2 different occasions.

Here is a photo of the butterfly stamps I got from a friend.
If anyone knows the maker I would love to hear from you
so I can give credit.

I have been busy lately creating for a few of my Favourite Blogs
and getting DT postings up and scheduled as some of you know
I will be away for a few weeks so what you see
from now on are Scheduled.
Thanks for dropping in and leaving your Comments.
So it's Cherrio for a wee while

Oh, these are wild and crazy and just extraordinarily artistic little works of butterfly art, Ina! The texture and coloring and dimension are incredible to me! I love them both and think your talent and natural eye for design is remarkable!!

Have a wonderful holiday visiting your daughter and grandchildren and bull riding! Well, that is to say, watching bull riding! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #5 before you left! Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful designs Ina. I love the mixed media look and all the texture which your designs show with the stamping and added elements. That black and orange card really is fantastic my friend. I think that is my favorite one of the two.

All the detail that goes into each one of these cards is amazing, Ina! I am a huge fan of the black Brusho too, and it is gorgeous with the orange and gold! I love how the added butterflies give the card depth, as though they are flying to a distant land. Such an amazing texture using drywall tape, and the entire background is so wonderful for your coral butterfly! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

Those are amazing butterflies, Ina! And how you've used them on these two cards is simply stunning. All of the colors and textures and layers look fantastic. Most of the time, I think we think of butterflies as sweet and full of Springtime...but your grunge butterfly is so very cool. It's an incredible design. LOVE the dry wall tape effect, too. Great cards. Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev

Loving the combination of the brusho's, gelato's and magicals on your first amazing card. Great effect with the dry wall and crackle paste. Both cards are so artsy and wonderful mixing of the medias x Have a fabulous time away x

Wow I am impressed, Ina. You have a knack for mixed media and both of these are spectacular and so different from each other. I'm drawn to the orange and black one but the crackle paste and drywall tape intrigue me.

Two fabulous cards Ina, so love the 'grungy' one - great use of the Brushos and Gelatos. And your second is so different really pretty but with lots of texture
