Merry! Merry!

Hello my Crafty Friends.
Once again it is time to showcase my latest card for
This month's Christmas Challenge is
Anything Goes with our Optional Twist - Sparkle.

Once again I went with non traditional Christmas colours.
As I used silver glitter paper for my die cut & sentiment
I went with a purple background using
Brusho's in Violet/Purple & Lime Green.
I framed this with the silver paper
and popped it onto metallic card stock.
Added a few pearls to finish.

Hope I have inspired you with my card and you pop over
to see what my Team Mates created and come join us.
You could be -
Our winner for this challenge and receive a $20 coupon

'Groovy'

Doesn't every woman 'Love Shoes'
I sure hope you do 'cause Lisa is Hosting our
Latest Challenge over at Just Us Girls
choosing just that as it is Word Week!
We have a new Guest Designer for September.
Welcome Linda from
http://linscraftcorner-linda.blogspot.com/
Lovely to have you join us this month.

I just love the awesome STAMPlorations Groovy Shoes
stamp set I used here.
I heat embossed  my image in black
then adding Brusho's in Brilliant Red & Black.
on water colour paper.
I wanted something a little different - bold and dramatic
and remembered I had some brightly coloured
Gelly Plate Pulls that I had made when my friend Cheryl
came to stay a while back.
I backed my shoe with red card stock, popped it
onto a cut out piece of the gelly plate pull.
It is a shame I couldn't get the silver metallic paint
I used to show up on the photograph as it really looks fabulous.
Again I framed it with red great and onto black card base.
Added a touch of silver splatters,WOS to the shoe sole
and a girl needed some bling on that groovy shoe.
The sentiment is also from the stamp set above.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog to check out
more shoe inspiration from our September Guest
Linda and the Team -  come join us this week.
You could just be chosen as Chic of the Week
and then be in the running for
Guest Designer in November.

Thanks for dropping in. Love reading your comments!

Happy Birthday Wishes

Hello There Crafty Friends.
There has been a slight change over at the
Mix It Up Challenge Blog
We have decided to showcase all the
Designers Creations together
on the first of the month so -
from now it will give you so much more inspiration to get you
running to your craft room to play.
But don't panic you still have the whole month to do so.
This month we have a new twist for our
Anything Goes Challenge - it's Inlaid Die Cuts.
Of course this is optional.

Some time ago I purchased the
and the stamps as a set. This time only using
the dies for my inlaid die cuts.
The background has been created with
 Brusho's in different colours.
My base is coloured card stock.
After laying myinlaid dies to the background
I then added 2 small pieces
of striped dp the match.
Sentiment is from SU Avant Garden and
added a few Nuvo Drops to finish.

Thanks for dropping in and don't forget
to pop over and see what the other
Mixed Up Girls created.

It's time to get 'KRAFTY'

Hello Crafty Friends - time for another posting for
Cardz 4 Galz and it's one of my favourites
Use Kraft Card Stock.
Julie has chosen the Theme for this fortnight.
Off course my card base is KRAFT.
I also used it as a backing for my
embossed feature which is from
Couture Creations Ambrosia. This was inked up with
Nuvo Lavender Mousse/Colour Blast Paste
Golden Olive Metallic Gilding Polish and
Apricot Inka Gold.
My sentiment is from MFT - Simply Fab Sayings
inked in Memento Teal Zeal.
The B has been highlighted with
Nuvo Blue Glitter Gloss and adding
Nuvo Blue Lagoon Glitter drops to the side.
(trying to show you the shimmer)
Hope you will pop over to The Cardz 4 Galz Blog
and check out all things KRAFTY from the Team.
Hope you will join in Julie's Challenge.
See you there!

Going 'Tropical' at Just Us Girls

Hello there Crafty Ones - Don't you just love this gorgeous
'Tropical Photo' Maria has chosen
for Photo Week at Just Us Girls ??
What inspires you here? For me it was the flamingo's.
They are so beautiful and since I didn't have a stamp
or die in my stash I quickly went to buy one online.
I found the one below and as it was local
I knew it would arrive quickly.
I am a little disappointed with this card.
After a few attempts I finally got the multi step flamingo
to look fairly good except for the big beak.
Maybe a bit heavy handed with the black
as it was a separate itzy bitzy stamp
you wouldn't want to lose.
I also honed in on the decorations stamping
leaves on the background then
embossing with the
We R Memory Keepers Geometric folder.
Added some leaves and a flower spray to the side.
The flamingo sentiment and leaves
are from Hampton Art
Finished with a light spray and coloured sequins.
I inked with the Altenew Red Cosmos set.

***
Then I saw another stamp set but was from overseas -
buying it because I loved the fun side of it and
hoping  it would arrive in time for this challenge.
I think this flamingo is saying
'Look at Me' I'm Cool...
I started with my background from
Memory Box Texture Wave
My 'cool' Flamingo is from
Inkadinkado and was coloured with
Tom Bow and Tim Holtz pens adding
Nuvo Drops and Crystal Glaze.
Sentiment is also from that stamp set.
My wavy sand was heat embossed with
Zing Brown Sugar which gives a really rough look.
I cut out my sun and sponged it adding a touch
of Inka Gold which I also smudged on the bulrushes.

So you have 2 cards to look at here. Bonus!

Thanks for dropping in.
By the way!
Have you popped over to see how our
Uber Talented August Guest Darnell
and the Team were inspired by that gorgeous photo?
Hope so and come join us.
You could be our Chic of the Week and in the running
to join us in October as our Guest.

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls

It's Saturday and time for a new challenge over at
Just Us Girls and Sue has chosen these
fabulous bright colours as our Host.

I recently bought a variety of dies and thought the one I chose
would be perfect for my cas card.

I cut the 3 colours above and glued them
(with great difficulty and will use JAC paper next time)
to white card stock. This was then attached to a
popped stitched die cut and onto the card base.
I then found the Berry Vine die cut from Kaisercraft on my desk
and was a perfect topping. Added a few coloured punched dots
and sentiment from Happy Little Stampers to finish.

Now pop over and see how our Guest Darnell and the Team
chose to use these 3 colours and come play.

Thanks for dropping in

Just Peeking In!

It's time for a new challenge over at Cardz4Galz
and Hosting this time is  Jan choosing Cats or Kittens.

I have this fabulous stamp set from Crackerjack Palace
which was just perfect!
I inked it up with SU Close to Cocoa then set it aside while I
went to work on my brick wall.
I embossed my Kaisercraft Brick folder onto Kraft card stock
then randomly added a couple of coats of white texture paste.
I did a bit more sponging to finish off the brick wall.
Sponged TH Antique Linen around the cat image then
attached it to brown card stock.
Added the sentiment and tore the edges to show my
peek a boo cat. Touched the eye with glossy accents.
Finished my sentiment inside.

And that's my card for this fortnight's challenge.
Hope you get a chance to pop over and see what
the Team created and come join in.

Thanks for dropping in

Meet 'Megan'

Meet 'Megan'

I love this big Julie Nutting stamp as it is perfect for paper piecing
and that is what the optional 'Twist' is this month at
Mix It Up Challenge. It is always Anything Goes
and if you love paper piecing - come join us this month
and if you just want to play that's fine too.
There's still a few weeks to go.

I rummaged through my odd bits of DP using
a large piece for the background and again for
attaching Megan. This was cut from TH Mixed Media.
I coloured Megan's flesh lightly and then got into
stamping her top and skirt then cutting various pieces
to paper piece. I even cut out her boots.
I haven't been in my flower supplies for an age and
once again they have come in handy for my floral spray.
They were placed in front of some Kaisercraft leaves.
Added the Beautiful die from CUTplorations
and finished with randomly scattered pearls.

Thanks for dropping by today.
Till next time Cherrrio from

Let it 'SHINE'

Hi there Crafty Ones! It's time to show/tell you what our
New Challenge is over at Just Us Girls and
Hosting is Judy. She has asked for 'SHINE'
So 'Shine' it is!
I took several shots trying to showcase how shiny my card is.

I got out my Gilding Flakes to use as my 'Shine'
trying once more not to get sticky fingers (alas it failed)
So onto the start of my card -
Card Base is white and I stenciled a feather on the side with
Gold Colour Blast Paste. For my feature I stenciled
another feather with white texture paste and randomly adding
a little Inka Gold and splatters. This was popped.
My feathers are from SU 4 Feathers - the middle one
inked with TH peacock Feathers and dipped in Inka Gold.
The other 2 are covered with Autumn Leaves Gilding Flakes.
Stencil Feathers are from Crafters Workshop/Hero Arts.
Added a small stitched circle from MFT with a simple sentiment.
Finished with some gold cotton.

Darnell is again with us as our August Guest so please
pop over to Our Blog and see what we have all
created for your inspiration.
This certainly is a fun challenge - the sky is the limit
with the word 'Shine' especially as foiling is all the rage
at present. I don't have anything in that line hence
the reason I went with my trusty sticky flakes.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks for dropping in this week.

Wishing you 'Brighter Days'

Hello Crafty Ones - so glad you popped in.
This week at Just Us Girls we have a new
Guest Designer - Darnell Knauss - Welcome!
and a new Challenge from our Host the Lovely Lisa
choosing

I wasn't sure which way to go with this one -
no weddings or babies on the horizon here so
I found a card I had made at a recent card class
so am cheating here. Thanks to Tania for the inspiration
for the card I am posting here. I have chosen the word Rain
even though there are no raindrops on my card
 - an umbrella instead.
Could I count the sequins as rain???

Thanks for dropping in.
Be sure to pop over Here and see what our
August Guest Designer Darnell and the Team
have created for you then link up your card for a chance to be
Chic of the Week and be in the running
to be our Guest in October.

'tis my Favourite Christmas Flower

When it comes to Christmas I always look for
a Poinsettia to use on my cards.
Whether it is a stamp or die
it screams Christmas to me.

Our latest Christmas Challenge over at
Now I don't always use traditional colours
but I went close here using Rose Red Brusho's
for my Poinsettia flower which is from STAMPlorations
heat embossing on water colour paper in white.
Added a little brusho powder touching it up
here and there to get the effect I liked.
I then heat embossed a script stamp in white
also to add a background.
In the centre of my flower I have added a
sprinkling of Diamond Dust which has given it a lovely finish.
(Very hard to see)
My Merry Christmas sentiment is from Paper Smooches
I used  metallic card stock as my base.

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon
to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.
I hope we have inspired you to
join us for this months Christmas Challenge.

Thanks for dropping in -

Live with Passion

Hello Crafty Ones -
Time again for a new challenge over at Cardz4Galz
and hosting is Helen choosing Pretty Pastels.

This is a quick post as we have long time friends visiting
from over the other side of Australia and my craft time is short.
You can understand!
I started with grey card stock as my base topping it with
stitched white card stock to stencil my
Hero Arts Peacock Feathers Stencil.
with Nuvo Burnished Bronze Mousse.
The beautiful butterfly is from CUTplorations
and the top part is also coloured in the Nuvo Mousse.
My sentiment is from STAMPlorations and inked in
Memento London Fog.
I finished with a few gems.

Hope you can join us this fortnight!
Thanks for dropping in.

Just For You

It's my turn to Host this weeks Challenge over at
Just Us Girls and it is our WILD CARD WEEK!
Once again as Host  I chose an easy one -
your choice of using
something old or something new or both like I did.

I decided to go with both old and new
using green card stock from SU
I cut out a die from TH Mixed Media and
behind the cut out i added some shimmery red paper.
My poppy stamp is a recent new purchase
and sentiment an old one from JustRite
The poppy is heat embossed and coloured with
Brusho's Rose Red/Black - Leaves with TH Mowed Lawn.
Sentiment inked with Altenew Ruby Red
and cut from Spellbinders Fancy Tags and popped.
Added a few pearls to finish.

Hope you will join us over at Our Blog to see what
Our July Guest Aileen and the Team have chosen
to go with old/new or both and link your card so
You could be our Chic of the Week and be in the running

It's So 'SWEET'

Hello Crafty Ones
Hosting our Photo Week Challenge
at Just Us Girls is Bobby
with this mouth watering photo.

I'm afraid watermelon isn't on my mind at present
(not at 4c and my wood fire burning nicely)
but it didn't stop me finding a perfectly suitable
piece of DP in my stash to make my 'Sweet' card.
I simply cut the dp on an angle added it to a
mat and card stock to match.
The sentiment is from Pink & Maine.
The Sweet stamp was heat embossed
with TH Worn Lipstick.
Added some coloured circles inking the
rubber end of a pencil and finished with
variegated cotton.

Don't forget to pop over to Our Blog
to see what our July Guest Aileen Ryan
and the Jugheads have created.
Join us and you could be Chic of the Week
and in the running for Guest Designer in September.

Thanks for dropping in -
Love reading your comments.

A Reminder from a 'Mixed Up Girl'

It's the Middle of the Month and time for me to remind you
Our Current Challenge over at Mix It Up has been
running for a few weeks now. Have you checked it out yet?

Here is what I had fun making and playing with our
optional twist of Distressing!
It can be using inks or tools. I chose both.
There is a lot going on here so I will start with
my background. I had a fellow Mixed Up Girl
Cheryl (big Thank You) come to stay with me
after we went to a craft show and
she brought with her -  her gelli plate.
Well I had soooooooo much fun playing with this
new technique to me and I found a perfect piece
to start off my creation (if you call it that)

Here's a few close ups

These are the products I used here -
Texture Paste
Pop Art Stencil
Inka Gold - Apricot/Hydrangea
Dylusions Spray - Fuchsia
Mesh
SB Die cut from gelli plate background
STAMPlorations Artful Flutters/Mixed Grunge
Metallic Thread
Distress Inks - Black Soot/Aged Mahogany
and Dried Marigold.
Think I got everything!

Thanks for dropping in - love reading your comments
and
Hope to see your project Here

Thought I would join in the current
Mixed Media challenge at

There's lots of Texture here. Check it out Here
