What if Nothing Ever Changed?

Today is April Fool's Day but I'm not fooling you
'cause it really is the first of many Challenges each Month
 over at Happy Little Stampers
It is of course our Watercolour Challenge.

Here is what we are looking for this month
if you choose to do our Optional Twist.

My play time was very limited in March
so I rummaged through my 'Bits Box'
to find something watercoloured brightly
and found the piece I used above.
It has a mixture of my favourite products -
Brusho's, Magicals, Nuvo Shimmer Powders
and thrown on was some Art Alchemy Metallic Paints
and good old Inka Gold.
I added some script from Kaisercraft
then carefully tore it in 3 then adhered to
my white card base.
I went looking for a nice butterfly stamp
and found this one - an oldie but goodie from Gina K.
This was heat embossed and then coloured
with some of the above products and fussy cut.
Added a few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops.
Before popping it I cut out a few small MB ringlet dies.
Finished with my STAMPlorations sentiment.

Pop over and see what my Team Mates created
and come join us this month in our Gallery.
Love to see you there.
Thanks for dropping in

UPDATE! We have a New Designer joining the Team
and it's the most amazingly talented colouring Artist -
 Gwendolyn Goh
A lot of you will have already seen her talents in Blogland
and I feel so lucky to again be working with her here.
A HUGE Welcome to the Team Gwendolyn.

We're Going Wild at Just Us Girls

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls -
that's because we have 5 Saturday's this month.
Sue is Hosting and has chosen an easy peasy one for us.
EMBOSSING FOLDERS

I couldn't just make an ordinary card with
my Henna Embossing Folder from Darice so
I got out a mix of waxes and pastes and just
sponged randomly till I liked the result.
I then heat embossed my flower from
Happy Little Stampers Doodled Flowers with
WOW Chocolate Caramel Pearl Powder onto
cream metallic card stock and fussy cut.
Cut out a small flourish from metallic paper
to go behind my popped flower.
Added my SB word die after adhering my embossed piece
to the same metallic paper and card base.
Finished with a few pearls.

Thanks for dropping in today and
Thank You to
Greta for being our March Guest showing us
some of her talents.

Three Fine Feathers

Hi there and Welcome.
It's my turn to showcase my Free Post for the
This Mood Board as a Guide.
You will remember my previous canvas
a few weeks ago and this time decided to
do a small one using feathers and the above colours.

It's a pretty simple one which was started by
adding a background with my Stamperia Stencil
with Ultra Mat Gel.
Adding colour to the background with
Magical's in Hydrangea Blue,
Ramblin' Rose Pink, Witches Potion Purple,
Nuvo Solar Flare Shimmer Powder
and Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Mermaid Lagoon.
My feathers were then clear heat embossed
and coloured with some of the above colours.
Added some splatters with
Nuvo Cherry Bomb Shimmer Powder
finishing with an appropriate sentiment.
Distressed the edges of my canvas for interest.

Products I used from Art and Soul Studio are
the inks, powders, the gel and embossing powder.

Thanks for dropping in

Happiest Birthday Wishes

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
It's our Photo Week and Hosting is Maria!

What's a Birthday without balloons?
I started by inking up my die cut balloons with Tim's Oxide Inks
in Abandoned Coral, Cracked Pistachio
and Fossilized Amber adding a smidgen of
shimmer from a Nuvo Brush.
I cut out the Nesting Arch from Uniquely Creative
to show my DP in the background.
This was slightly popped. I then added
my balloons with string attached.
Sentiment is from SU. That's it!

Check out what our Guest Greta
and the Team have created and join us
for this fun challenge.

It's a Bird Board for Art and Soul Studio

We have the most gorgeous March Mood Board for
Art and Soul Studio.
The Mood Board called for leaves or feathers
so on a walk back from my mailbox (it's a bit of a walk)
I collected a few bits of bark and leaves
with some amazing colours and markings
to add to my creation. Also found a few feathers
left behind by some birds.
Here is my 8" x  8" finished canvas.

and the Mood Board

I started by adding gesso to my canvas and then
inking Art Alchemy Metallic Paints in
Frozen Berries and Romance Pink with
strokes of white .

Adding some interest with some inked rings
using the lid of one of my sprays
then texture with Tim Holtz Stone Stencil
with DecoArt Crackle Paint.
Now the inky fun part begins by going outside
and spraying my leaves, bark and birdcage with
Dylusions Funky Fuchia Spray, Tim Holtz Antique Bronze
Spray Stain and Lindy's Witches Potion Purple Spray.
I did this on the side of an old trailer in our garage.

Now to decide where to add my elements.
Straw bits were sprayed with the colours above
and I added Finnabair Art Stones.

Here are a few close ups -
That beautiful blue shimmer is from
Lindy's Witches Potion Purple Spray
Added a few feathers I found in our yard.

And to finish - a photo of the bird cage.
Thanks to Aussie aNNie
and my blingy bird is from my stash.

Products I used from Art and Soul Studio are
 Art Alchemy Metallic Paints
Lindy's Spray
Finnabair Art Stones
DecoArt Crackle Paint.

Colour Me a Poppy.

It's Just Us Girls Saturday and our Colour Week.
It's been quite some time since I got out my
Alcohol Inks to play and I really wanted to
make a bold statement with the colours
Nancy chose as our Hostess!
Got my supplies outside on the patio
and made a few backgrounds before
the heat sent me back inside.
The colours I used were Tim Holtz Stream, Aqua, Wild Plum
and Pinata Sunbright Yellow on yupo paper.
I cut out my base from the Memory Box Perky Poppy in bright yellow
then selected the inside colours.
I attached this to a teal frame and
cut a strip to add to the side adding yellow either side.
My die cut sentiment is from Crafts4U
(an Australian Site) picking suitable colours and placement.
Got out a hole punch adding the 3 main colours randomly to finish.

That's it for now but don't forget to check out
our Guest Greta and the Teams colourful creations.
Will we see yours in Our Gallery

Thanks for peeking!

Love you 'LOTS'

Hey there! Welcome to today's post for
Just Us Girls. This week we are Trending
and Bobby wants to see our background stamps.

We would all have a zillion to choose from.
My chose is an old favourite - SU Timeless Textures
and it really is 'timeless' and to feature with it
another oldie but a goodie - SU Botanical Blooms.
They have so much going for them.
The background stamping is SU Tip Top Taupe
as is my card base. Also added Tim's Peacock Feathers.
I cut out my flowers from the above set and
attached to the same coloured card stock to frame.
My sentiment is from STAMPlorations.
(a favourite also as I say it to my daughters
whenever I speak to them on the phone)
The flowers were finished with adding pearls.

Thanks for popping in - now pop over
and see what our Guest Greta and the Team created.
Join in with your creation Here
and you could be Chic of the Week
and in the running to be Guest for May.

Eat 'CAKE' on your Birthday

It's that time of the month for the March
and it is a 'yummy one' and who doesn't love 'CAKE'
Hi and Welcome.to mine!

I decided to go bright here keeping with the
chocolate sponge then add some really hot pink icing!
heat embossing my cake in white
The chocolate is a variety of inks trying in vain to get
that deep dark chocolate colour but succeeded
with the icing using Nuvo Cherry Bomb Shimmer Powder
and applying it with a waterbrush.
I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze for the dollop of cream.
Cut a piece of white card stock with the popular
then added my sentiments from the above set
I popped my cake then adhered to a bright pink background
and on to the card base.
Finished with some bling on the squiggles!

It's 'Word Week' at Just Us Girls

HI there and Welcome to a New Month of Challenges at
Just Us Girls and to our March Guest Designer
Greta Hess from GG Creations
So glad to have you join us this month.

Our Host for our Word Week Challenge is Vicki
choosing an easy peasy one for us!

Why not let your hair down, maybe go
a bit wild or concervative with
soft and subtle? The choice is yours.
Here's what I chose.

My brother in law has a birthday soon so it was a
perfect time for me to go 'male'.
A pretty simple card cutting out
a variety of wood coloured designer papers.
(remember we had a challenge recently with wood)
While I still remembered them, I thought
 I would use them again.
I cut them out and attached randomly
to a brown background after I had
added some twine and knotted.
The Happy Birthday die is from CUTplorations
from one of the papers and I coloured the edges
to blend with the background.
Got out some matching brads then
finished with adhering to cream base.

Check out what our Guest Greta and the Team created
and come join in our Gallery.
You could be our Chic of the Week
and be in the running for
Guest Designer in May.

Thanks for coming by

Trying my hand at ATC's

Hello and Welcome! I ventured into another room
for this month's Anything Goes Challenge over at
and tried my hand at ATC's.
Now I am sure most are aware of what these
'little pieces of art are -  measuring 2.5" x 3.5"
Here are my fun makes! All very different.

Now a few close ups and how they were made!

I love using corrugated cardboard as you get a great effect
when tearing it apart. After I gesso-ed the back I added some
DecoArt Crackle Paint but hasn't shown up well.
I then got out Tim's Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
Alchemy Metallics in Emerald Green
and Rustic Brown for the background
and the Spellbinder Circles. Added some
plasters tape before attaching the circles
and popping the main one which has
an epoxe sticker attached that I have had
in my stash forever.

I took inspiration from an ATC I saw
from the talented Asia Marquet.
I started with my background of Orange Brusho's
Lindy's Gold Glory of the Seas Spray and
Art Alchemy Fresh Orange Metallic Paint.
These colours were also used for my cheesecloth
and fussy cut butterfly.
Some random inking from Finnabair in black ink
adding some Nuvo Repened Pumpkin Drops.
Sentiment is from AALL & Create - #39.

I got some blue tissue paper with some items I had bought online
and thought it perfect as a start to my background.
Scrunched it up and adhered to my canvas with Crackle Medium.
Once that was dry I swiped Tim's Oxide inks in blues.
(doing the same with the attached pocket)
My denim pocket is from CUTplorations and
I cut out a bigger piece as backing.
The die behind it is from Kaisercraft.
Fussy cut the two stamped paint brushes
from AALL & Create - #39
adding some gold splatters. Gold gelatos were
also added to the raised parts.
Sentiment is from SU.

Hope you liked my first ATC's.
Pop over to Our Blog and see what Mixed Media
my Team Mates chose to make and
have a go at our Anything Goes Challenge this month.

It's Your Day to Shine.

We're marching in to March already and that means
A New Water Colour challenge over at

Our Optional Twist for March is

I've certainly gone all misty here
playing with my limited Lindy's Sprays.
I sprayed Gecko Green and Witches Potion Purple
with Tim's Mermaid Lagoon Distress Stain
 with water on to acetate
and adding to my watercolour paper.
I then heat embossed my sentiment in white and stars from
STAMPlorations in Memento Eldenberry.
Also flicked some iridescent medium to the background,
cut out with a stitched die and adhered to white card base.

Here's a closer look at the Sentiment.

Pop on over to Our Blog and check out what
my Teammates created and come join us this month.
Love to see you in our Gallery.
