'Hello'

The New Challenge over at Color Hues
is live and looking for Black and Yellow
I saw a card similar to what I made over on Pinterest
and it is perfect for the CAS Mix Up Challenge
(Welcome back)

You all know how much I love my stencils and
Lindy's Magical's so these two challenges
just made for some fun play time.
Lots of die cutting as I didn't know which ones I would use.
(I have leftovers)
My yellow background is Lindy's Yellow Rose of Texas,
Stencil is AALL&Create Cracked Walls 1 #37
through Ranger Opaque Crackle Texture Paste.
Added itty bits of washi tape Cut Tear Layer #9
and a touch of Tim's Speckles in the corner.
Simple sentiment from STAMPlorations,
inking the edges as I did before adhering
to white card base.
* My CAS Mix is Smooching,Texture Paste, Stencilling,
Die Cuts, Washi Tape, Stamping.
* Black & Yellow colours for Color Hues
Thanks for popping in and checking my card out.

Some Creative Fun

It's Just Us Girls Word Week
Host Lisa E has chosen PAINTBRUSH
for something very different.
With a New Month we welcome our Guest Lucie G
who will be sharing her talents with us.
Welcome Lucie.

When I saw Lisa's choice of  WORD it got my
mixed media juices flowing.
The paintbrushes are from AALL&Create #38.
My background came out of my bits box
inked with Tim's Oxide Inks.
It was a quick make with lots and lots and lots of stamping from
AALL&Create, That's Crafty and Visible Image
doing all the work.
Inked the edges and adhered to card base.
You would all know how much fun I had here!
Now head over and see how our June Guest Lucie
and the Team used our 'Word'.
You are going to love their creativity.
Come join us and you could be chosen
Chic of the Week and in the running for a Guest Spot.
Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Love Me a THISTLE!

It's time for our New Anything Goes Mixed Media Challenge at

This piece came about after I was watching
the Talented Tracy Evans use her
AALL&Create Thistle #334.
I had only just recently purchased mine
so decided to ink it up.
The background is done on the gel press
and after a long hiatus I needed lots of practice.
I eventually got three then inked my thistle.

I landed up using the middle one.
I found after watching Tracy that the best stamp pad
to use is VersaFine Clair. Lucky I have a few.

I then did some random inking, some
crackle stencilling (as I do) and strips of washi tape -
 also from AALL& Create.
I am so glad we have a store here in Oz that sells
these amazing products.
Inked a ring around the thistle, added some
heather flower soft to part of it and
found the lovely wool to add a nice touch.

Lightly inked the edges and a bit of distressing.
I found the lovely soft green pearlized card stock
that blended nicely and attached to finish.

Head over to our Blog and check out what my
Fabulous Talented Team Mates created this month.
We would love to see yours in our Gallery.
You just need multiple mediums to join in the fun.

Thanks for dropping in for a visit. Love reading your comments.

Just 'Thinking of You'

I came across a 'new to me' challenge just yesterday
to use frames. Here is my make.

There are so many ways to incorporate a frame
in your card and I chose a Sizzix 663423 die that
has the tiniest of frames. I cut out two in grey
and used the inside of one as a backing
I first embossed the main background with a
leaf folder from Kaisercraft then built it up with
floral dies coloured with Tim's
Kitsch Flamingo and Saltwater Taffy Oxides
a sprinkle of Lindy's Oom Pah Pah Pink
and a leafy vellum die cut.
Finished with a die cut sentiment from Crafts4U
with the leftover ink and attached to
white card base.
That's it for today. Thanks for visiting.

Postage Due bicycle stamp from SU Kitsch Flamingo,
Salty Ocean and Salvaged Patina.
Punch from Martha Stewart,
ribbon - stash and simple sentiment from STAMPlorations.
Added a fussy cut flower in Kitsch Flamingo.

It's all about THE BAG!

 Hello and Welcome!
I love it when someone gets a gift in a
brown paper bag with a bonus of tissue paper.
This happened at Christmas time and I
saved it from the recycle bin knowing
I was going to use it for our
BAG IT Challenge
Sistah aNNie chose the theme
and is such a popular trend at the moment.

A friend from another Design Team I am on
made one some time ago and I knew I
wanted to go in a Mixed Media way.
I started with the background
(Gesso/Crackle Paste and Art Alchemy Sparks)
which I left for quite some time wondering
if I liked it. Lucky I did and it just
all flowed on nicely from there.
Used loads of 'stuff' from my stash
which included designer paper/card stock,
Laces, material flower, flourish,
die cuts, heat embossing, tissue paper, pearls.

Here's a close up showing the detail!

Thanks aNNie for a great theme
giving me the chance to try something
just a little different and give me a Mixed Media Fix!
Head over and see how my Talented Sistahs
chose to showcase their Bags.
We'd love to see your artistic skills
in our Gallery and join in on the fun.

With Love!

I have a quick post today for a couple of challenges.
Over at Color Hues this time round  the colours
Red and Aqua got my attention
and as I had butterflies around my desk the
I thought CAS and Colour would be a nice match up.

My background is some simple
partial stamping from AALL&Create
and randomly coloured with the required red and aqua.
Fussy cut butterfly is the same.
To add interest I embossed it with a frame die
attaching it to the card base
after adding a simple sentiment.

This card is heading over to the above Challenges.
and an Update!
Thanks for your visit and I love reading your thoughts.

Thinking of You

Welcome to today's post for Just Us Girls
Bobby is Hosting our Colour Week.

I started by adding a background
with Tim's Stone Stencil in Blue Print Sketch Oxide ink
and flicked some water drops.
Die cut my floral arrangement using
SU Calypsol Coral, Magicals Cape Cod Coral and Tan card stock
which includes the little strip on the side
(thanks Cecile) and one with vellum.
Added some more stencilling to the sides,
some crochet cotton and a button.
Sentiment is SU.
Adhered to navy card base.
Head over and see what our Guest Deborah
and Team created.
Will we see yours in our Gallery?

Live in the Moment.

Hello and Welcome to my post for Just Us Girls
Our Host is Carol M choosing a fun trend - Shaped Cards.
I got out my Hexagon Spellbinder Die
and made a little note card.

Unfortunately I forgot to write down the colours
of Lindy's Magical's I used as I made it  so quickly.
I do love the result I got with them.
Added a Lavinia Stamp, heat embossed in black.
Sentiment is from Tim Holtz Small Talk.
Framed in black onto white card base.
Head over and see what our Guest Deborah
and the Team chose to use for their Shaped Card.
They are fabulous and all so wonderfully different.
Hope you get to have a bit of fun this week
and add to the Gallery.
Sending this simple shaped card over to
and Update!
(Hoping I have enough white space)

Thanks for visiting.

Way to Go in PINK!

Time for our New Challenge over at
Sistah Diane is in the PINK!
So we are going all out Pink this time round.
I was determined to move away from pink flowers
and created this fun chic card instead.

A simple acetated background with
Nuvo Cherry Bomb Powder and a
lighter shade with Tim's Kitsch Flamingo
Added Tim's background rays
stencilling with Transparent Gloss Texture Paste.
Heat embossed Unity Live Laugh Love Girl
and sentiments from Paper Smooches.
Adding some sequins for bling,
matted in black onto hot pink card base.
***
but then I gave in and made an easy floral card
with the SU Hearfelt Bloom doing all the work.

Inked with SU retired Melon Mambo,
heat embossed clear diamond dust,
Art Alchemy Silver Wax and white gel pen
to the flower centre.
Sentiment from the same set.
Die cut and framed in grey.
I also heat embossed the card base
with the clear embossing powder
then adhered my flower to complete.

Check out what my Sistah's created
as they always impress.
Your turn to show us your 'Pink' make
and add to our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting

Merry and BRIGHT!

Time for our New Challenge over at
This month's Theme is Two Colours.

Grab a Guy Gold.

It's Special!

Time for Just Us Girls Challenge and
Vicki is Hosting our Word Week.
FLOWERS!
Our Gallery is going to be full of beautiful cards -
shame we can't smell them.
We welcome our May Guest Designer
Deborah Wheeler!

This card is special because it is for
my granddaughter who's turning 30
and the flowers featured here are Tim Holtz Wildflowers
I purchased from her Christmas gift certificate
(and you haven't seen the last of them yet) ...
Chosen colours are blue tones - her favourite.
When this goes live we will be
celebrating two birthday's and
a baby shower. Then Mother's Day Sunday
with one daughter travelling from North Queensland
for all the celebrations.
***
Added a texture plate die to the background
adding my floral arrangement.
The 30 is an old CB die adhered to a
cross stitched nesting arch with
matching cotton tucked behind it and a
punched heart to finish.

Can't wait to see the Gallery full of flowers.
Our Guest Deborah and the Team have gone all out
floral so hope you will too and
add to Our Gallery. You could be our
Chic of the Week!

UPDATES! Sending this over to
Color Hues for their

Art is Therapy

Today's post is for the new Anything Goes Challenge at
and here is my project.

It's always fun using different mediums
to create whatever comes to mind or planned.
Often it changes as you progress.
I did manage to take a few photos along the way.
As you do with Mixed Medium there are lots of products
to play around with.

Sorry about the quality of this photo but I had
an overhead light on and wanted to show you
the lovely stamp I used.
You know the background is full of
wonderful bright Magical colours as it's a favourite of mine.
Using a stencil again from AALL&Create
I applied the smooth as silk butter.
Of course I got carried away after that and added
crackle paste through another stencil,
AA wax, more stamping and inky dots.
Butterfly is a Sizzix die
coloured with Magicals, a touch of wax and
Sentiment also from AALL&Create
smooched and torn.
Adhered to black card base.

Here's a few more close ups

Head over and see what my Team Mates created this month.
We would love to see you join us.

Heading over to add to the Gallery at Mixed Media Lovers Blog
Thanks for dropping in and commenting.
Till next time -  Cherrio from
