'Aloha'

It's TREND week over at Just Us Girls
and Hostess this week is Sue and chosen Pineapples

Well this threw me as I have nothing relating to them.
How excited I was when I went to my monthly
girls day out card making and our Demonstrator Tania
had chosen a card with just that.
Thanks Tania - you saved the day. All credits to you.

I didn't finish my card that day
but came home and added some splatters from a
Tim Holtz stencil. Also added a few strips
of paper under the pineapple.
Card stock is SU and has been stamped on the edges with the
pineapple stamp which is part of the
set Pop of Paradise from SU
My sentiment is from Gina K.

Now pop over to Our Blog
and check out what our October Guest Jaydee
and my Team Mates created.
Join in and you could be our Chic of the Week
and be in the running for
Guest Designer in December
 ***
Once again my card qualifies for the latest (For the Birds) challenge over at
The Mod Squad
You can find the details Here
Thanks for dropping in
PS Will be flying over the other side of Australia in a few days
but never fear I have all my cards done dusted and scheduled
for while I am away catching up with family. I'm Excited!

Falling 'Autumn Leaves'

I just couldn't help myself making another
'Autumn Card' even though it is Spring here.

This time my card is more the 'Autumn Colours'
I got out the Memory Box stencil - Texture Distressed Grid
and added dimension with white texture pastes.
I love the old Cuttlebug leaf dies I have had for ages
and that is what I turned to for my card.
After blending distress inks and adding
a few speckles from  TH Speckles Stencil on to
water colour paper.  I cut the leaves
and heat embossed them with clear powder.
Scored them to add veins but very hard to see.
The branch is from Memory Box - Woodland Branch.
Sentiment is from MFT - Simply Fab Sayings.

This card is again for the 'New Blog in Town'
You can find the details Here

Thanks so much for dropping in.
I love reading your lovely comments.

It's all about 'AUTUMN'

I came across a 'New Blog in Town' called
as it is one of my favourite types of card
Watercolour! and cas too.
Details are Here
There are times when I just love making
a cas card - so relaxing with water colouring
in all sorts of colours.
For this challenge it is 'Autumn'
Here are the products I used -
Coloured cs/water colour paper
Distress Inks and Inka Gold
for the water colour background.
I decided to move away from leaves and
 heat emboss grass from
SU Inspired by Nature in black.
I cut this in 3 added the sentiment
from Spellbinders in Black & Gold
Black Pearls and lines with a
gold gel pen to finish.
***
The October CAS Card Challenge at
STAMPlorations Blogspot is up
Details Here -  so I am joining
them again this month using plenty of  BLACK!

I am also going to play over at
'Autumn is in the Air Challenge'

A Birthday Card for 'Someone Special'

I have made this Birthday Card for my Daughter
and chosen the stamps specially for her.

Over at Crafty Cardmakers Pam is Hosting
our 'Birthday Card Challenge'

The stamp I chose is from Inspired by Stamping Here
called Nature 1. It has the Ulysses butterfly and the
Cooktown Orchid. This butterfly if you are lucky
(and I have been) can be seen fluttering by in
my daughter's back yard. She also has the most
beautiful orchids blossoming on her patio.
Now you can see the reason why I made this card.

I have added several coloured layers
added to my card base
and the background is inked up with
several Tim Holtz distressed inks.
The Cooktown Orchids were stamped randomly
and heat embossed in white.
(My daughter lives close to Cooktown)
The Ulysses butterfly has been inked up
with TH peacock feathers with
a smidgen of  pearl ex powder added
giving it a nice shimmer. Also
in black and covered with glossy accents.
Happy Birthday sentiment is a Spellbinder die.
Finished with a few coloured gemstones.
I have made a computer generated greeting
for the inside adding the tiny butterfly for a final touch.

Thanks for dropping by.

What's the 'WORD' at Just Us Girls?

Once again it is 'Word Week' at
Just Us Girls and Sharyn is our Host
choosing LEAVES as 'The Word'

It's getting that time of the year over the pond called 'Fall'
and I am celebrating 'Spring' -
however to keep in line with the challenge
I have made my card using gilding flakes
in what I call 'Autumn' colours.
Now anyone that has used these flakes knows
the mess you can get yourself into -
gluing the shaped dies with the flakes
(don't breathe out)
and making sure you have covered them all.
I really did get messy with this card because
after I successfully glued flakes to my fingers
I cleaned them off just to get inky again
with my background.
Those leaves I think turned out beautifully
and needed a background to match.
Using a Memory Box stencil I painted it up
with Inka Gold using my fingers yes my fingers
to give it a little dimension.
I popped it up after it was dry also popping
those leaves from an old  Cuttlebug die.
Added some coloured cotton
and that very American sentiment from GKD
Finished with some gems.
***
I really did enjoy making this card -
after all what's fun if you
don't get a bit messy just sometimes.
***
Now pop over to Our Blog to admire
what our Guest for October - Jaydee
and the Team have made.
Join us and you could be our
Chic of the Week and in the running for
Guest Designer in December.
***
It so happens that over at
Mod Squad their challenge is Falling Leaves
so I am joining in the fun there with this card.

Time to play 'Tic Tac Toe'

A Crafty Friend of mine (Thanks Cheryl)
told me about a blog called
 Stampin Smiles Designs
so of course I checked it out
and what better excuse to get some
new crafty itemsout and play -
so that's just what I did.

You can find the Details Here

I chose to go top left to bottom right
(stencil, blues/greens and texture)
so I could try out my new stencils from
ARTplorations - Happy Flowers
and Square Dance.
The texture came from
Mont Marte Pearl White Acrylic Paint.
Blue & Green coloured background was
inked on watercolour paper with a
variety of Tim Holtz distress inks.
Added some script words to the sides
Happy - Spellbinder die
Birthday - Pink & Maine Birthday Wishes.
My floral feature is popped.
Finished off with some scoring on the side.

Thanks for dropping in

I Love to 'SPLAT'

Over at The Mod Squad there is a
Fabulous Challenge going on and Good Friends
Judy Woodland and Vicki Dutcher are Hosting.
What is it? Create your Inner 'SPLAT'
Details - Here
I love that kind of technique - getting a little bit inky
and creating a great result.
I decided not to go with a splatter stencil
instead inked up several TH distress inks,
wet them and added my splats to water colour paper
with a sheet of plastic. I did add a touch of
black splats to match up with my
Happy Birthday die from Spellbinders
and the butterfly from Inkadinkado
(which has been heat embossed for the first time)
Cut my card stock using a stitched die
and popping for dimension.

I thought the colours of those decorations on
the yummy cupcakes were similar to those I used above
so entering it in the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #377

Hope you like what you see.
I love reading your comments.

A Simple THANK YOU

I got Happy Mail a few days ago and was keen to get it inked.
As the stamp I used is small I thought a simple
Thank You card would be just right.

I found a few challenges to link this card up to and they are Pals Paper Arts
ppa-319-sep22
Details can be found Here
and at As You LIke It
for their Favourite Colour Combo and Why Here
***
Now my all time favourite colour is purple but
I really love the soft colours of Aquas and Pinks
so that is what I went with which I tried to match
the colours above but not quite as I would have liked.
Here are the products I used -
Basic coloured card stock.
SU Calypso Coral stamped with
a Katzelkraft stamp for the background.
Floral image is by STAMPlorations Framed Dogwood
heat embossed then
inked and touched up with Twinkling H2O.
Finished off with white cotton and
Thank You sentiment from SU
cut from vellum.

Thanks for dropping in.

and continue with earthy tones.

Sizzix banner
Corner rounder
Pearls

Thinking PINK!

While I was playing around with pink colours for
the September CAS colour challenge over at
STAMPlorations Blog I couldn't stop.

I wanted to try a few items I hadn't used before
so this card came together easily.
Again I mainly focused on the Twist as my main colour.

Details can be found Here

I used basic white card stock. For my image
inside the frame ( by Die-Namics)
I water coloured with TH distress inks in
Abandoned Coral/Victorian Velvet
and Spun Sugar
Topping this with a stencil from TCW
with White Texture Paste.
The stitched edge is from Nina's Things
The floral flourish  from Marianne Designs.
Sentiment is Inspired by Stamping
Finished with a gem on the flower
after popping the frame.

Time to Colour at Just Us Girls

It's that time of the month for our Colour challenge at
Just Us Girls and Hosting this is Nancy choosing
these lively colours below.

I love inking up my stencils and thought
I would do just that to add colour to blend
in with my brightly inked flower.
Using basic card stock I inked up a
TCW and Tim Holtz stencil with TH Festive Berries
adding a banner from Sizzix embossed with CB Swizz Dots.
My tag is by Kaisercraft inked with a sentiment from Gina K.
I attached leaves also from Kaisercraft.
and my flower by SU Creative Elements
embossing it with clear powder to give it a lovely shine
finishing  with Liquid Pearls a Pearl centre and ribbon.
Thought I would add a few rhinestones to match up
with the silver thread on the tied cotton.

Don't forget to pop over and see all the brightly coloured
creations by our September Guest Kathy and the Team.
Hope we inspired you and I hope to see you there.

Dream Big

The CAS card challenge over at the
STAMPlorations Blog for September
is Anything Goes with the optional
colour twist of Pink.

Sometimes it is nice to sit down and create
a clean and simple card and that is exactly what
I have done here.
I love creating dimension by adding foam squares
and have done that with my 2 layers.
These are the products I have used here.
White card stock
Background stamped with TH Vintage Photo
from Darkroom Door - Woodgrain
The pink rose is from Penny Black
heat embossed with TH Worn Lipstick.
It has a gritty feeling to it with just a touch of
brown mixed in with the pink.
I used a stitched die from Nina's Things
and finished with a few pearls.

Details can be found Here

Thanks for dropping in.
Love reading your comments.
Till next time - Cherrio from

It's all about 'YOU'

Doesn't every crafter have little containers
full of all sorts of coloured sequins?
Off course you do - that's why Lisa
as our Hostess at Just Us Girls
thought it was time to use some of them
and chose SEQUINS for our Trend Week.

There are so many ways to use those little critters -
perfect for a shaker card but not me this time.
I could see me dropping them all over the floor.
I decided to go soft and subtle

I was given some unusual pieces of coloured paper
which look like they were recycled and are
quite thin and didn't know how it would cut
so I tried it out using a Sizzix leaf die
and they turned out nicely.
I then decided I needed  a touch of colour
behind my background so used another sheet there.
This  was stencilled with Sparkle Medium
and while wet I added some fine glitter.
My butterfly was cut from a Cheery Lynn die and
also added glitter and a pearl.
My sentiment is a new one - recently purchased
from a Win I had and is from Pink & Maine.
I must say they ink up beautifully.
To finish off my card I needed those
Sequins as part of the challenge and
also added some rhinestones.

Hope you check out Our Blog
for more blingy creations and then
get out your sequins carefully and
join us for this super challenge.
You could be our Chic of the Week and
be in the running as Our Guest in November.

I am going to enter this card in the CAS Challenge
over at STAMPloration - Details Here

Thinking of You.

The new Challenge over at
Crafty Cardmakers is being hosted by Marlene
and she has chosen LAYERS!
and want to see Lots of LAYERS

I think I have achieved that !
I found these sheets of die cuts in my stash
from Reddy Creative Cards (German Co)
and all I had to do was detach and layer them up
 using foam squares. Easy eh!
After completing that I attached them to a piece
of mauve paper cut from a Spellbinders die.
The card stock was stamped randomly
with a hydrangea stamp from
SU to match my focal point.
Just needed to add a sentiment from GKD which was inked
and cut out of vellum.
Hope you can pop over and check out
what the other Designers have layered
and would love to see yours Here

Thanks for dropping in so till next time

I'm 'Flying High'

It's 'WORD WEEK' over at Just Us Girls
and once again I am Hosting.
As this is the beginning of a new month we have a
New Guest Designer. Welcome Kathy.
You can check out her talent at
Stamps at Play.

When I chose the Word (which by the way is TRAVEL)
I had a specific type of card in mind.
After several attempts  I landed up going
in a completely different direction.
I rummaged through some of my stamps and came across
one that was totally perfect. It made me think of just
what I will be doing in the coming month.
I am excited as we will be flying over the other side of
Australia to spend time with our daughter
and teenage grand children.
We haven't seen them for a few years.

On with the products I used here -
Card Base is GKD Pure Luxury
Background DP - SU Going Places
Stamped image - Inspired by Stamping
(heat embossed)
Sentiment inside - Stamp It Australia
Stars and tiny circles are punched.
Pretty simple considering the time I spent
on trying to make my other card work for me.

Hope you will pop over to Our Blog
to see how our Guest Kathy Schweinfurth
and the Team were inspired.
Hope you can join us there.

Thanks for dropping in -

There's GOLD here!

There is still a few day left to enter the current
CAS Card Challenge over at STAMPlorations Blogspot.
Details can be found Here
The optional colour twist is to use GOLD.
While I was fishing around in one of my drawers
(for what I can't remember) I came across my gilding flakes
and a penny dropped - this fluffy stuff would be
perfect and it had GOLD in it -
make a cas card using this great product.
Well now I remember why I don't use it very often -
glue and flakes make for sticky coloured fingers!

I used an old Cuttlebug leaf die, cutting and
gilding  a few so you will see the others
on another card some time later.
I also had a bit of fun inking up the background
using a Memory Box stencil and various paints
and textures. I backed this with gold card stock.
My leaf was popped.
Sentiment is from Gina K Designs.

Thanks for dropping in today.
Till next time Cherrio from
