Cherish! Dream! Live!

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday post for
Just Us Girls
Maria is our Host for Trend Week.

and chose 'To Make the Sentiment the Focal Point'

Something a little different from me this week.
No watercolours, no powders -
I wanted to ink up my new
Summer Time Versa Fine Clair ink and found a
nice sentiment from Kaisercraft. I cut this out with
MB Pinpoint Double Frame die.
Did you notice a stamped flower behind it?
I knew I had some lovely orange DP from
an age ago by SU.
I cut this to fit on the front of my
SU Tip Top Taupe card stock.
I then inked up a small piece of the same card stock
with the Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink
and cut another small piece of  leathergrain paper
popping them all up together.
Added a strip of ribbon and a button to finish.

Pop over and see how our Guest Emma
and the Team chose to focus on their Sentiment.
Hope to see you in our Gallery this week.
Thanks for dropping by

Canvas-ing for Random Arts

It's with great pleasure I  am able to show you my
first post for a New Blog I was invited to join.
It's called Random Arts - and local to me.
You can find it Here  The Store is owned and run by
the Very Talented Amanda Mason and our
First Inspiration Challenge began on the 1st July.
All the details regarding the Challenge are Here

Our Mood Board

Picture

I will be showing two project a month and my first one is
what we call a 'free post' where we have a free hand as to
what we make as long as we use products from The Store

I decided to just have a little play with some of the products
here by making a small canvas.

Sorry for the quality of this photo but I took it
on my phone and it is the only one I have.
The stencil is from AB Studio and
Tim Holtz Distress Grit Paste (super stuff)
I then added some colour with Art Alchemy Metallic Paint
then a splash of colour to the background with
Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Storm Cloud and some random text,
laces with a touch of Art Alchemy Wax for colour
and cheesecloth. Also a few black flowers to the back.
I then got sidetracked with my Bo Bunny butterfly and forgot
to photograph what I was doing.
Applied some gesso first then while it was wet
added some Little Birdie Mica Powder,
Art Alchemy Waxes in Rich Copper and Vintage Gold.
Topped with a painted cabachon.
As the photo has quite a bit of black I though it needed
a little more so added five tiny pearls (one is hiding) to the lace.

Here's a few close ups!

These are the items I used from Random Arts Online Store
in no particular order
Finnabair_Waxes Vintage Gold/Rich Copper
Little Birdie Natural Mica Powder
Bo Bunny Laser Cut Butterfly Chipboard
Other products used from my stash.
Thank you so much for taking time to drop by
I will be back next week for a bigger project for

You Make Me 'SMILE'

What made me 'smile' when I saw what this week's word was at

Take a close look and you can see the floral stencil I used above
really does have a smile in it. Perfect for this week's challenge!

I bought it recently at a craft show and was playing
with some 'new to me' Little Birdie Embossing/Texture Paste
where you use it in the usual way but after you take the stencil off
you heat emboss it and you get this lovely fluffy effect.
This is the second time I have used it and this time I added
some purple (yes Judy) pigment powder.
And purple is so hard to photograph!
My card was so easy and quick
(since I had already made my focal point)
by simply adhering designer paper to my card base and
attaching my image.
My sentiment is from STAMPlorations Smile
Added a few gems and corner rounded one end
and my card is done.

We have a new Guest Designer this month -
Welcome Emma Delfosse from

Pop over and see more 'Smiles'
from Emma and the Team.
Hope you get a chance to join us this week.

Creating 'Floral Elegance'

Nice to have you pop in to see what my latest project is for

We start off our July Challenge today and as always
It's Anything Goes using multiple mediums.
I was so impressed with a project from one of the entries
in our last Challenge and decided to case it.
You can find it  Here. I just hope I did it justice.

Here's how it all started!
After priming with Gesso I stenciled my canvas
with paste to add texture.
After it was dry I adhered this lovely lace.
and then to add colour with
Distress Oxide Ink, Nuvo Shimmer Powder
and Art Alchemy Wax (and it smells divine)
Oh! just what flowers will I use here
next to my resin frame?
Adding a bit more colour with some champagne relief paste
and painted cabachons.
Showing you some shimmer!
Nearly done! Added my flowers, attached the cabachons
and added a coffee stirring stick with my sentiment.
I felt something was missing so found some chunky gold glitter
and added it carefully to the bottom right hand corner
of the resin frame. Also 3 small pearls to the lace.

Here's another view!

Pop over and see what my Team Mates created this month.
There's loads of inspiration for you to cast your eyes over.
Maybe you would like to try your hand at Mixed Media?
It really is a lot of fun - why not give it a go and join us this month.

Till next time!

Thinking of You

Hello and Welcome to July!
Today's post is for our new Monthly Watercolour Challenge over at

It's always 'Anything Goes' but Fun when you
play with our Monthly Option.
This time round it's 'Wings'
And we ALL have plenty of 'winged things'
so no excuse for not joining us this month.

I continue my obsession with powders
and this time using Nuvo Blue Blitz Shimmer Powder
and added a darker colour with
 Lindy's Afternoon Delight Denim.
I inked my dragonfly with VersaFine Clair Warm Breeze
and decided while the ink was still wet to
add some Deep Water embossing powder from Colour Blast.

A close up of the shimmer!

Sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers 'Thinking of You'
This was done on watercolour paper and cut
with a stitched die and adhered to  matching card base.

Pop over and see what my Team Mates created
and join us this month. Love to see you in our Gallery.

It's 'Fancy' at Just Us Girls

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
Just Us Girls and I am this week's  Hostess.
Since there are 5 Saturday's this month we have our

I chose something a 'little different' than
just the normal every day style card and
in doing so it really threw me out of my comfort zone.

This was not my first or second or maybe even third
attempt with different folds - hence this card has been
sitting unfinished in my craft room for quite some time
till time was running out and I knew I had to finish it quick.

It's a Joy Fold card and really quite easy to put together.
I used SU card stock, including the Designer Papers
that go with the SU Botanical Blooms stamp/die set
which you would know I love.
The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

Pop over and see what folds our Guest Marlena
and the Team created  and I hope you will
take the plunge and play with us this week.
Love to see you in our Gallery.

Before I close I would like to thank Marlena
for Guesting with us this month and showing us all
your creativity. It has been a pleasure having you with us.

Thanks for dropping by here today

Here's Cheers!

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
It's our Photo Week and our Host this Challenge is Lisa
choosing a very Summery Photo.

There's nothing nicer than relaxing by the sea
with a cool drink is there?
I got the stamp set I used here as part of a package
such a long time ago and it fitted perfectly
 for this week's challenge.
I simply heat embossed my cool drink,
coloured the centre then carefully went
about inking up my sky and sea background even adding
some breaking waves with a white pen. Then came the sand
and I used a new paste I  bought at a craft show recently.
It is Metallic Relief Paste by Cadence in Champagne and has
a nice gritty texture.  I coloured my fruit and bubbles,
some with glossy accents
and the bigger ones with Nuvo Crystal Drops.
Backed it with matching card stock and on to my card base.

Pop over and see where our Guest Marlena and the Team
went with our Photo and come join us in the Gallery.
You could be our Chic of the Week and in the running
as our Guest Designer in August.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks for dropping by

Make a Wish for CAS Mix Up Challenge

Hi and Welcome. Today's post is for the current challenge at
and my good friend Mac is hosting.

I started out by inking Tim's Peacock Feathers Oxide ink
onto my glass mat, wetting it and smooching
with a piece of plastic to try and get an ombre effect
on to acrylic painting paper. Unfortunately it isn't showing
up as nicely as it is IRL. I then heat embossed
my STAMPlorations Feathery feathers with
Colour Blast Deep Water Embossing Powder
and die cut. I then die cut the leaves (Kaisercraft)
with the same paper and flourish (Gina Marie)
To ground my die cuts I painted
Colour Blast Shimmer in the same Deep Water colour.
Added my sentiment from the same stamp set
then attached my slightly popped feather and die cuts.
Added a butterfly, wee bow from Waffle Flower
and a pearl to the centre
Just to finish it off I added some splatters.
Attached this to  my base. If you look closely
you can see this paper has a lovely light texture
I thought added a little something.

Here is a close up showing the texture and
lovely shimmery embossing.

My Mix is - Ombre Technique, stamping,
heat embossing, die cutting and painting.

Thanks for dropping in today.

Thinking of You

Welcome to my Just Us Girls Saturday Post.
It's Colour Week and Hosting is Carol choosing
 Ombre Type Colours.

It's been quite some time since I used the
Hero Arts Leafy Vines Stamp and thought it
would make a striking feature with an ombre background.
It is a fairly large stamp and needs a slightly bigger card size
to what we make here in Australia - hence I used the
slightly larger American sized
 CUTplorations Stitch-Rectangle-Nesting-Dies
My background is a mix of
SU Tangarine Tango and Calypsol Coral
sprinkled with water and sprayed with
SU Champagne Mist.
The leafy vines were heat embossed in white.
The CUTplorations Thinking-of-You-Phrase-Die
was cut several times for dimension
and coloured with the same inks/mist.

Pop over and see what out Guest Marlena
and the Team created and come join us this week
by adding your card to our Gallery.
You could be our Chic of the Week and
be chosen as our Guest in August.

Thanks for dropping in

I took lots of inspirations from here, firstly choosing
the red check mat using my ARTplorations Weaving Stencil
I then got out the STAMPlorations Happy Everything stamps
to ink up my cupcakes, glamed them up and fussy cut.
My butterflies are from
 heat embossed and coloured.
Sentiment is from Hello Coffee.
I have used Tim's Distress/Oxide Inks on my cupcakes
and butterflies.
Sky was coloured with Memento Summer Sky
I then cut my project from
Added a sun in the corner and a cloud partly covering it,
followed by a few tiny flowers to match in the other corner.
Adhered to coloured card stock and on to a brown card base.
