It's TREND WEEK over at Just Us Girls

What TREND  have we over at JUGS ?
It is Sue T's turn to host and she has picked a
fabulous Trend for us all to play with called 'OMBRE'
which means to use the
same colours throughout one colour family.

I recently bought a retired stamp set -
 Feeling Sentimental by Stampin' Up
and am still enjoying all the variety of cards
you can create with it.
I thought the penny farthing bicycle would be a great choice
for this type of challenge and also
because it makes a great male card.
***
These are the products I used on my card.
Brown & Cream card stock
Tim Holtz Speckle Stencil on the background
(a little hard to see)
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Vintage Photo & Antique Linen
Sentiment from Stamp It
Variegated Lines Stamp - Prima Marketing
Mounting squares on image.
***
There you have it for this week
a clean and simple card and love the ombre effect I got.
***
Don't forget to pop over and check the other
JUGHEADS cards for more fabulous inspiration
and then enter your card for a chance to be
GUEST DESIGNER in December.
Hope to see yours there.

EARLY Holiday Wishes Challenge #88 at Send a Smile 4 Kids

There's Snowmen a plenty for this

'Early Holiday Wishes Challenge'

Since we don't make snowmen here in Australia at Christmas time
as it is our 'Summer' it was nice to play around
with all things 'SNOWY'
I made this card cas as the Snowman and his little birdie friend
were a perfect fit for the
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.
The digi image that I used here is from DRS Designs
I used  distress pens and a little coloured glitter
with sheer glitter for the snow.
Basic card stock in red green and white
Scattered rhinestones on the embossed paper.
Sentiment is also from DRS Designs
Spritzed the white card for a little shimmer.

Since I was playing with snowmen and this digi image and paper
from Stitchy Bear
was pre coloured I decided to make 2.
I again added some glitter for the snow and on
the snowflake. Also a little variegated twine on the side.
Sentiment is from Gina K Designs.

Again I went cas and used the coloured paper
that matched the snowmen's scarves.
Popped the snowmen after cutting out with
Spellbinders Circles/Lacey Circles.
Finished with sheer ribbon, bow and
SU punch in white.
Sentiment and snowflakes are also from the same set
from Gina K Designs - Snow One Like You.

The Winners of this Challenge will receive
Thanks to our Generous Sponsors

DRS Designs - $10 Gift Certificate
Stitchy Bear - 3 Digi's to the value of $10
Kitchen Sink - $25 Gift Certificate.

Thank you for coming by

White card stock as my base
2 shades of pink c/s for matting

Are you ready for another Fall Colour Challenge over at Send a Smile 4 Kids?

Yes it is that time of the year when all the leaves on the trees
start changing colours and falling on the ground
so it was a perfect opportunity to use
this great digi Jumping in Leaves
from one of our generous sponsors Jelly Park

I had a bit of fun with this one.
I wanted to use flower soft for the leaves
but found I didn't have enough of the right colours so I had a
'brilliant idea' and thought I would try grating wax crayons.
Put dimensional magic on the leaves
and then added the shavings.
As this was a trial run I didn't colour my image first.
Liked what I saw so started colouring and
then put it through the cuttlebug to cut my frame
and the shavings got crushed
so repeated the first process to add dimension.
DP is from K&Co, sentiment from Gina K and ribbon
is from SU. Also used Spellbinders Ovals/Scalloped Ovals.

For my second card I chose
Fall Fence from our sponsor DRS Designs

I used the following items -
Brown & white card stock
2 Designer Papers
Burlap or Hessian as we know it in Australia
Spellbinders Labels Eight
Tom Bow markers
Tim Holtz inks
Leaf stamp from GinaK
A little Liquid Pearls for the corn
Sizzix leaves & Fancy That Leafy Swirls
Ribbon & Sequins

*****

Our generous sponsors for this challenge are
Jelly Park - 4 images of winners choice
DRS Designs -  $10 gift certificate
Sassy Studios - 4 images of winners choice

and of course don't forget to check out the great
cards the other SAS Designers have created.
You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for dropping in

Trend Week at JUGS Challenge #258

I just couldn't resist having another play with the current challenge
 over at Just Us Girls
Details can be found  Here

The end results are always so different.

I again got out my SU stamp - Inspired by Nature but before
I got to that part I dabbed distress inks onto my
craft mat -  spritzed and then lay my glossy paper onto it
and swirled it around. While it was still wet
I lay an octagon stencil on top to give it
 a little more dimension.
This is when I inked up my stamp with distress ink and
again spritzed it with water and stamped onto the background.
I really liked how it turned out with the flowers looking
a little variegated in colour.
I seem to be in a 'pinky mood' lately.
Stamped the leaves on the bottom,
framing it onto my white card stock.
The Sentiment is from Gina K cut out
with a spellbinders die.
Added a little shine with iridescent medium on the
flowers and sentiment and
added own ribbon for final touch.

Hope you like what I made today and come back again soon.

Designer's Choice at The House that Stamps Built

one of their current challenges is their
 Designer's Choice  #DCC910
My great friend Cheri is hosting this one and
is challenging us to use Black White and Grey.

Here is my take on her Challenge.

This was an easy cas card to make.
I started off with the basic white card stock as my base.
The 4 floral images I stamped
(2 in Memento Black & 2 in Memento London Fog)
using 4 different stamps from Repeat Impressions
and cut out  small squares with a Spellbinder Die.
I added black and grey card stock as a frame.
I backed this with black card stock then
again white which was partly embossed
with Swiss Dots.
2 of the flowers are popped while the other 2 are flat.
The sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.
Added a touch of shimmer on the flowers
with a Wink of Stella pen
and finished with 3 tiny rhinestones.

That's it for now so till next time

Trend Challenge Week at JUGS

Here is my second card I made for the current over at JUGS

You can find the details  Here

For this water colouring technique I love using my
Stampin' Up Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set
and co-ordinate it with their Manhattan Flower
embossing folder. I think they are a Perfect Match.
I again inked an acrylic block with 3 different distress inks.
Heat embossed the flower in white and cut it out and popped it
Added a few purple leaves (embossed with swiss dots)
 in the background and pearls.
The card stock I used is an iridescent pearl paper
which just adds a touch of shimmer.
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping.

Thank you again for dropping in.

Trend Week over at Just Us Girls

This week over at Jugs
is their Trend Challenge and it is
Water Colouring. Challenge #258

I love to play around with my stamps and inks and this
suited me nicely.
I must admit by the time I had finished I was well and truly INKED.

Now where do I start - First off clean hands lol
That didn't last long.

I started with the basic white card base and then the fun began
as I worked on what I wanted to feature.
I inked an acrylic block with different distress inks
and stamped onto watercolour paper. Let it dry and then
embossed a small part in white with a small stamp
My main focal image is a retired stamp from Stampin' Up
called Inspired by Nature. I embossed the floral image with
Stampendous Aged Rose Embossing Enamel.
Love this product as you get the embossing powder
and enamel together and brings
out a fabulous effect. I also used the leaf stamp on the bottom.
After I had done that I again stamped randomly a few more
areas with the wire type stamp in a dark ink.
I framed my image and added ribbon a touch of lace
and button to finish it off.

Since I had inks on my desk I decided to make another card
but more cas. I will post that a little later.

Hope you like what you see and come back soon.

It's Spring Time at The Outlawz

Over at The Outlawz for the month of September we have
the most amazingly generous sponsor

The Design Team for the Colour Challenges
got to pick which digi's they would like to use.
So each week in September I will show you what I made.

This was the perfect month for us in Australia
as it is SPRING and that means FLOWERS.

This is the photo and colour combination chosen by
Laurian
Each week is different and so too our Twist.
This week it is to add something with Wings.

Here is my first creation for September.

I used 3 different coloured card stock to match my image.
I pierced the pricking pattern around the framed rose which is
a pre coloured one. I just added a little colour to the edges.
The beautiful rose and the pricking pattern
is from the Diamond Rose Set
and the butterfly from the Marigold & Morpho Set
I was really pleased how this card finished up thanks to
the beautiful images in my favourite colour from Fred She Said.

Hope you liked my card and you will come back
next week to see the next colour challenge card.

The piano keys are from a die cut and attached
to the piano shaped black card stock.
