A Sketch Challenge from 'The House' WHAT IF? Wednesday ~ Sketch Challenge F2013

I have been working on the latest challenge over at The House that Stamps Built and this time it is a sketch.

20130219-204257.jpg

Here is what I came up with.

Items used in this card are
White cs
Coloured paper
Pearl patterned DP
Repeat Impressions Stamps Flowering Vine
Peacock Feathers Distress Ink
Memento Pistachio Ink
Own Buttons and twine
Avocado Liquid Pearls
Inked the Flowering Vine stamp on white cs and the edges also on aqua paper to hand cut the five flowers and attached to stamped image -  liquid pearls to finish.
I added the buttons and twine to the bottom of the card
instead of the top as shown on the sketch.

I hope I have the Link back to Repeat Impressions right as I noticed in the past I wasn't doing it correctly. So much to learn about Blogs.

Thanks once more for taking the time to look at my latest card
and hope you will leave a comment for me. Ina.

A Few New Challenges

I have been busy enjoying creating some new cards for current challenges.

I posted one a few days ago and this is the second card I made using
MY FAVOURITE STAMP
for
http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/designers-choice-challenge/dcc213-favorite-repeat-impressions-stamp/

This stamp is really beautiful and I find myself using it again and again.
It is Repeat Impressions Tulip Bouquet 912 - K

This is what I made

I started off with Linen paper and popped the same paper after cutting with Heartfelt Creations Layered Elegant Swirl die. Added a small strip of designer paper before cutting the inked
Repeat Impressions Tulip Bouquet stamp with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink
with a Spellbinder oval die and backed with the same dp.
The sentiment is from Gina K's Springtime Silhouettes. I placed a piece of burgandy satin ribbon behind the image and finished it off with a beautiful double bow and pearl brad.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

http://www.inspiredbystamping.com/

and as you can see the Challenge for this one is BOWS.
and who doesn't like to add a beautiful bow to their cards to finish it off?

Thank you once again for stopping by.
Hope you will be so kind to leave me a comment
and please come back soon.

Black & White Card Challenge.

I have been having fun making some black & white cards
for the current challenge at

http://joannasheenchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

I know I only get one card selected but still will upload 2 that I enjoyed making because I couldn't pick which one I liked the best.

Here is the first one

I have used basic white and black card stock. The black background I scored and folded the top and bottom overwhich is a bit hard to see here. The white paper was spritzed for a little bit of bling. The sentiment is cut out from Just Rite Vintage Label & Banner Die and popped on top of
Spellbinders Fancy Labels 2.
A piece of fine lace was added to the back of the die.
Made a flower from B&W designer paper from bitty blossoms and placed a small rhinestone in the centre. Added a few sprigs to the back from MS die. Finished off with 2 rows of rhinestones and one on the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate you checking out my Little Bits of Craft.

A favourite little stamp from RI

The Designer's Choice Challenge over at The House that Stamps Built
this week is to create a card with your favourite Repeat Impressions Stamp.
I only have a few and the following card is from one of them

http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/designers-choice-challenge/dcc213-favorite-repeat-impressions-stamp/
This is how I assembled this card.

I started with white card stock and topped it with a popped and scored piece of paper. I made this a colourful card using the stamp - Iris Window 919 - I using Memento Ink in Olive Grove and framed in orange to highlight the stamp. Added a small strip of DP a small strip of ribbon and a double cut Sizzix butterfly in plain green for the bottom and the top the same DP. 2 Mango coloured Kaisercraft pearls were added to the flower. A small border strip at the bottom is from a MS punch.

As I recently used MY MOST FAVOURITE RI stamp for another challenge there, I still had to make another card with this BEAUTIFUL STAMP.

Come back soon and check it out. I am super happy how that one turned out. I may keep it for a special family member.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to come back to see my latest favourite card. Ina.

Card Challenge at The House that Stamps Built.

One of the current challenges (Sketch F613) over at one of my favourite sites -
The House that Stamps Built is the sketch below.

20130205-222253.jpg

I always have fun playing with their awesome challenges
and go in the draw for some of their beautiful stamps.

Talking about that -  the card I have made for this challenge has 2 of their stamps.
The floral image is stamped with Rich Razzleberry from Stampin' Up
and the stamp is TULIP BOUQUET.

I added the beautiful sentiment from the stamp set BEAUTIFUL DAYS
to enhance the flowerInstead of using 2 different designer paper I loved the different colour effect that this piece gave to the background. I placed a piece of my ribbon at the back to show the contrast. I topped it with the same coloured paper as the stamp followed by the white. Simply finished it off with 2 different coloured pearls - the corner and the centres of the flowers.

Hope you liked what I made.

Designers Choice Challenge over at The House that Stamps Built.

Over at The House that Stamps Built one of the challenges is a
Designers Choice from Rock Star Joyce Morien.
She has challenged us to make a card with bright colours and vibrant prints.
I don't know if my card is vibrant enough but the colours are bright. For the vibrant bit I decided to add  bright pink gemstones.
It is a fairly simple card with layers of white and different coloured designer paper.
I added bright ribbon and gemstones cut the corners of part of the card and cut out a Cherry Lynn Butterfly. Also added a punched piece of paper with a MS Punch.
The sentiment is from Gina K using distress ink and ran over it with a gold sakura pen for a little shine.

HERE IT IS...

Obviously I like this new Marianne Die because I have made several using this lovely Lady Silhouette.

A Perfect Sentiment Challenge card

One of the latest cards I have been working on is for the
Perfect Sentiments Challenge

http://perfectsentimentschallenge.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/psc62-encourage-me-wribbon.html

We all have dreams and this is the 'Encourage Me'
part of the challenge and what is life without them.

I made a really clean and simple card this time -

Not a lot involved here. Started with the basic card stock in turquoise and topped with white embossing added a doily which has the edges inked. The second piece of turquoise card is also embossed then topped with a feature stamp from
Springtime Silhouettes by Gina K
I paper pierced the top 2 sides and added snow pearls to the centres of the flower.
We had to add ribbon so I threaded mine through a piece of fine lace and added a little bow made of crochet cotton to finish.

Since we are allowed 3 cards I hope I can get time to do more.

Stamped Blessings Challenge - Glitter

I was browsing the internet today looking for some new challenges
and came across this great site
so decided to have a bit of a play as I like a bit of bling
and thought this would be right up my alley.

http://stampedblessings.com/
http://stampedblessings.com/2013/01/amusing-challenges-glitter/

Here is what I made.

Card base is apricot topped with gold and cream metallic paper - embossed with CB Styleized Flowers. Added gold ribbon and attached the main image from GinaK's Friends are Flowers stamp which is heat embossed in gold. I inked the whole cream piece of paper with versamark ink and sprinkled glitter all over. Heat embossed the glitter to stick. Added Chino pearls to finish it off.

Looking forward to their next challenge.

My card for the 'What If' challenge over at The House that Stamps Built.

After being away for a holiday break I have just made it in time to make a quick card for the latest
What if Wednesday Sketch Challenge over at The House.

Below is the sketch.

20121225-203717.jpg

http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/sketch-challenges/what-if-wednesday-sketch-challenge-d2612/

Here is what I came up with.

My card base is a light cream colour topped in pink which was embossed with CB Roses.
My main image is a Marianne die called Charleston Lady Silhouette
cut out from cream metallique sculptured paper.
This was attached to the same pink paper which was cut from Spellbinders Heart Circles.
The 3 strips of designer paper were added to the back the same as the sketch.
I finished off with some fine lace pewter pearls and added a necklace from the cut out hearts from the Spellbinder die.

Challenge time again at The House

The new Designer’s Choice Challenge over at
The House that Stamps Built is a colour challenge
Use two or more shades of Blue.

I even named my card for this challenge - Blue Blue my card is Blue.

Here is what I came up with.

http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/designers-choice-challenge/dcc1219-two-shades-of-blue/

The card base is white and topped with dark blue cs and I distressed the edges. I followed with a lighter  blue and embossed it with CB Textile folder. I also sanded the surface to bring out the white then distressed and tore a few edges.
I then layered the same dark blue paper, distressed the edges and curled one corner. The white cs on top has been inked in a very light blue with SU Vintage Vogue stamp set.
I stamped the small flowers in a dark blue on the white cs and cut out a further 2 the same and popped them on top.
Finished off with some sprigs from my MS punch and added a larger lighter blue flower which has dots of liquid pearls and a touch of glitter around the centre.
Added a small piece of light blue ribbon and a tiny sentiment from Gina K's stamp set Stippled Nature.

This is a closer view of the light blue flower which show the glitter a little more clearly.

==================

Since this will be my last posting till the New Year I would like to wish all my blogger friend a
Very Merry &  Safe Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Thanks so much for all your comments throughout the year.
They are so encouraging and appreciated. Ina.

Give Thanks Designers Choice Challenge

Another challenge I was keen to enter over at The House That Stamps Built is
Anything That Gives Thanks
http://www.thehousethatstampsbuilt.com/designers-choice-challenge/dcc117-anything-that-gives-thanks/

Since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia I couldn't pass up this challenge to make a Thank You card. There are always so many friends/family that we could thank for all sorts of reasons. So I put hands to paper and came up with this little design. Sure hope you like it.

I used the following items on this card.

Cream shimmery card stock topped with mottled beige paper which was embossed from Sizzix Holiday Trees. I used Spellbinders Labels 20  for one of the contrasting colours and lightly inked the edges. The green paper is also shimmery card stock cut out with Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 and embossed with a butterfly folder and popped. Sentiment is from SU. Cut out 2 butterflies and popped them also.
Added pearls and ribbon to finish it off.

CHRISTMAS/WINTER WISHES BLOG HOP

WELCOME TO THE NOVEMBER “CHRISTMAS/WINTER WISHES”
BLOG HOP!

Hi everyone!  Thanks for popping in to check out our November blog hop!

The Blog Hop with Sean & Regina is now featuring Gina K. Designs stamps only for our monthly blog hops.

There are some amazing new stamp sets by Gina K. Designs that were released in October and I am  sure you will be inspired in the upcoming November release as well! I can't wait to see what's NEW!

I for one started making my holiday cards some time ago but the lure of great challenges saw me venture away from them for a while.
I badly need more of Gina's great stamp sets as my collection just started this year and I have a long way to go.

The blog hop designers have been busy creating a card/cards that we hope will inspire you to create some beautiful Christmas and winter themed cards for your family and friends.

Enjoy yourself as you venture through the holiday hop!

OUR BLOG HOP SPONSOR IS!

This month, we are honoured to be joined by Rebecca Oehlers, a Gina K. Designs Illustrator who has created some beautiful stamp sets for Gina K. Designs available in the Stamp TV Store!
Becky’s style is really fun, crisp and clean. They are used to make wonderful cards with just the right message or can be used to add some fun to your scrapbooking pages.  In addition, Becky is one of the best card designers and artists in the craft world

Becky is a member of the Gina K Designs Illustrator Team.Go to Becky’s blog to look at the great things she has been up to AND view the card samples she has created with her newest stamp set “Mistletoe Memories” that was released during the Stamp TV October Release Party.  Becky’s blog address is:  http://hemidemisemiquaverdesignblog.com/.

So now here are a few of my Christmas cards I have been working on. As I said earlier my collection of Gina's stamp sets is in it's infant stage and Christmas ones (but I am working on adding more for sure) I have just a few  - but you don't need masses to create great things with what you have got - just imagination and I hope I have captured a little in what I have done.

For my first card I started with basic white cs. I embossed the silver paper with Sizzix Holiday Frame. The heirloom ornament was heat embossed in purple by Zing glittered the middle and popped. You can see the glitter in the close up on the photo below. Added to the Heirloom Ornament is a small mauve bow to finish. No sentiment required. The Gina K stamp set I used for the ornament is Heirloom Ornament Set.

Below is a simple card using the Cuttlebug embossing folder from Winter Wonderland. I have heat embossed the row of poinsettias and dotted the centres with yellow liquid pearls. Added a red frame behind so the flowers would stand out. This stamp is from Melanie Muenchinger's Holiday Basket. I added 2 different ribbons to the back. Sentiment is from Gina K's Fanciful Tags.

Another simple card also had an embossing folder from the Winter Wonderland Set. I cut 2 different Spellbinder dies - one for the backing and the front one has been heat embossed from the Gina K duo Merry & Bright. Sentiment is also from the duo. I popped both die cuts and added a little green ribbon which I gathered slightly for effect. Cut both coloured paper on the bottom corner.

This card is nearly the same as above only I changed the backing paper and embossed the stamp directly onto the paper. Added a little bit of gold bling here and there and a snowflake to the top of the baubles. I did spritz it in silver but has not shown up in the photo.

So there you have it - My contribution to this great blog hop.

If you came from the talented Penny's Blog you are going great. Your last stop on this amazing journey is to hop over to see what Sherian has been busy making for you. I am sure you will be pleased.
