You're a STAR!

Our Host Lisa E wants us to head
Back to School for our Word Week at
Yikes! that was like forever ago...
Lucky it's not for real - it's our cards that need to be
Back to School related or
just be inspired by any of the features on
the super photo. There really are lots to choose from!

After procrastinating over this photo for
like forever I came up with a simple bookmark
that turned out so easy in the end.
I used a Kaisercraft paper pad for everything
except the plain paper.
Die cut the circles and punched a bigger star.
Head over and see where our Guest Cathy
and the Team went with Lisa's fun photo.
It's Cathy's last week with us and it has been
lovely to have her share her talents with us.
Thanks so much Cathy.

Till next time!

I Picked These for You.

Sistah Diane has chosen the Theme for our
New Challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters
FRAME IT!

I saw a card I liked on Pinterest Here
and have 'cased it' using Tim's Wildflowers also.
I found a lovely soft coloured dp for my background
and added lots of white shimmery die cuts. I also like to
add an extra head to the main flower and
in the same paper as the background.
Sentiments are from STAMPlorations.
Finished with a clear gem.
Head over and see what gorgeous creations
from the Sistahs and we would love to see yu
add yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting and always special
when I read your kind comments.

Big Hugs!

Lisa K is our Host for Colour Week at Just Us Girls
and picked an awesome combination for us to work with.
Teal - Yellow - Tan

You all know me and my love of Lindy's Magical's!
These gorgeous colours 'screamed' Magical's and
I think I got a bit heavy handed with the
Tibetan Poppy Teal when I wet my w/c paper
and dropped it on with a brush.
ooooooooooh! I love the result though.
So bold, bright and shimmery.
I also added Yellow Rose of Texas
and included it on my background die
behind the SU Four Feathers.
I used retired SU Tip Top Taupe
(papers and ink)
Stencilling is from AALL&Create
and Whichcraft Do You Do.
Sentiment is ARTplorations.
Added a tiny bit of yellow ribbon to finish.
Head over and check out how our
August Guest - Cathy and the Team
used the colours.
I am sure you will want to join in
and add your to our Gallery. Hope so!
Thanks for visiting

twice - once for my black Scottie and red
for the sleigh.
Background is a mix of oxide inks and
Lindy's Milky Way White.
Die cut a circle for my scottie to ski on
heat embossing Stampendous Chunky White Enamel and
. Elizabeth Crafts Cool Diamonds for the snow.
Added some long neglected snowflake stickers
and the Merry Christmas sentiment.
Attached to white card base.

Thinking of You 'Sister'

Today's post for The Sisterhood of Crafters
is a pretty special one for me.
The theme chosen by Sistah Darlene is
SUNFLOWERS!

This card was made while thinking of my sister who loved sunflowers.

My background is randomly stencilled with grit paste,
die cuts in black and kraft.
Sunflower from STAMPlorations was inked in black
and heat embossed, coloured with Lindy's Magical's
and Nuvo Shimmer Powders and fussy cut.
Dotted the centre with gel pen.
Sentiment is from Krafts4U
Corner rounded, matted in black and on to kraft card base.
***
The painting below was made for my Sister so she could see them
every time she looked out her kitchen window.
These sunflowers were from a field close by where she lived.
I also now have one dried and framed in my kitchen.

Head over and see what beautiful sunflowers
my Sistahs created for your pleasure
and I am sure our Gallery will be full of colour and blooms.
Thanks for visiting and always love reading your comments.

Don't forget to FLY!

Vicki is Hosting our Word Challenge at
Just Us Girls  and our Gallery is going to be
'Full of wonderful butterfly creations'
It's our first for August and that means we have a
New Guest Designer.
So happy to have an 'Aussie' and it is
Cathy Roffey. Check out her blog Here
Welcome Cathy.

We all love making butterfly cards don't we???
With so many choices of what to use and how
I decided to stencil (AALL&Create) my background
with Tim's oxides then put it back
and stencil again with Opaque Crackle Texture Paste
Adding a bit of background stamping for interest.
I die cut my Kaisercraft butterfly then
covered it with Black Brusho's
which has given it  subtle blue tones.
I then added Transparent Gloss
which gave it a nice sheen.
Slightly popped it after adding the sentiment from
Tim's Small Talk.
'Fly' over and see what our Guest Cathy
and our Amazing Designers created
and I am sure you will want to add yours
to our Gallery this week.
You could be our Chic of the Week and
and chosen as our Guest in October.
Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Mixed Media Time at Creative Artiste

It's time for our new Anything Goes Challenge at

This is a Mixed Media piece that just came together
as I went along with nothing specific in mind.

It began by inking the background with
a variety of Lindy's Magical's, lots of
Nuvo Shuimmer Powders and stencilling
from AALL&Create
with AA Metallic Gold Rush paint.
The butterfly is from Kaisercraft and
was sitting on my workbench.

Lots of additions that I forgot to photograph -
some of these items are chipboard, cheescloth,
more stencilling, art stones.
Painted the edges with the Gold Rush Paint.
I did add some clear crackle but lost it's way.

On the butterfly there are gilding flakes,
 Magical's and a sparkly gem.

Flower is from my stash, adding a pearl spray to the back
and coloured thread to the stem.
It is so easy to get carried away and keep on adding
products for colour or dimension.

Next month I am hoping to created something
very different. I have had it in my mind for
a few months now - just hasn't eventuated yet.
Will see what happens for next months MMprofect.
Pop over and see what the Creative Artists
(the Design Team that is) had fun with.
We would love to see you add yours

Our theme is always
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"
with multiple mediums on your project.

Thanks for visiting and commenting.
Till next time -

'Casing' a Favourite Designer/Designers

July is a long month and we have
Five Saturday's so you know it is our
Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls
I am Host this week and thought it would be fun to
 pick a favourite designer/designers and
 case one of their creations.
It can be a Card/Tag Maker, Scrapbooker,
Mixed Media Artist - Journal Page Creator
even a Quilt Maker like Carol Mc
I so love the dedication and how long it takes
to create something so special.
We need to say who we are 'casing' and
show their make and ours.
This is a longish post so grab some refreshments.

I chose two designers -
Cecile Ribon -a fellow designer here
who inspires me with her talents and creativity weekly
and
Loll Thompson who I have admired and loved her
CAS creations for a long time.

Cecile's Card

My 'Case'
I changed the colour of the background,
added gold circles, floral die inked
Lindy's Milky Way White for some shimmer,
a snippet of ribbon, sentiment and a few splatters.
Popped onto white card base.

Loll's Card

I saw this card and knew I had THAT stamp
also gifted from a Dear Friend.
Here's my 'case'
Die cut my Spellbinder Die then coloured the background with
Tim's Oxide Saltwater Taffy and Speckled Egg
going for lighter coloures but now think
the darkers colours show up the
wet baby wiped stencilling better.
My stencil is from ARTplorations Fairy Tale Forest
(the technique Loll used)
Heat embossed the Uniko Stamp in black
adding the same sentiment as Loll
from the same stamp set.
Added a few punched pink hearts splatters and
distressed the edges before popping
onto white card base.
I didn't know whether I would post this
as I am not overly happy with the result
even second time around.

Head over to our Gallery and check out
fabulous case creations from our Guest Fran
and my talented Team Mates.
Thank you so much Fran for sharing your
beautiful card with us this month.
Sure hope we get to see your favourite designer's casing.
Thanks for visitng

Merry! Merry!

Today's post is for our New Challenge over at
The Sisterhood of Crafters and Lia chose our Theme
Fairy or Gnomes.

I don't have fairies flying around my craft room
so my little gnome came to the rescue for
my Christmas card.
He is from Stamping Bella and coloured with
watercolour pencils and inks. Added a bit of sparkle to his hat.
Die cuts for the angle and Merry sentiment.
Adhered to red card base.
Head over and see what my Sistah's chose to feature.
Hope to see you in our Gallery.
Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Sending Happy Thoughts

I'm playing again this week over at the
Tic Tac Toe Challenge choosing from the board below
to go from
top right -  flowers
centre - yellow
botton left - ink blending

Those that know me would know that I would pick
ink blending - it's in my DNA!
I went for a bright yellow with Nuvo
Solar Flare Shimmer Powder for my blended background
Flowers? I chose a favourite retired SU set
Botanical Blooms
Foliage die cut from various coloured paper.
I added Lindy's Milky Way White to the flowers
for a nice shimmer and
Yellow Rose of Texas for the centre of the main flower
then a clear gemstone.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Bloom Happy.
Tiny flowers have Daffodil Liquid Pearls in the centre.
Finished with adhering to coloured card base.

Also sending this over to

and another one for

Happy Little Stampers
Thanks for visiting and love reading your comments.

Simply 'Make a Wish'

Wet, cold, windy weather makes for
Great Craft Time.
Here I have made another card for

I used Lindy's Magical's for the background,
stencilling randomly the numbers from
Which Craft Do You Do (Aussie Store)
with Distress Grit Paste. Once dry
I sponged a little here and there
with Tim's Black Soot then added
Opaque Crackle Texture Paste.
Inked and heat embossed the
Happy Little Stampers Dandelion Wishes in black.
Adhered to coloured card base.
Thanks for visiting and commenting.

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

It's our Photo Week at Just Us Girls
and our Host Sue has chosen

This photo really stumped me at first till
I remembered I had a stamp that would suffice
as I wanted to feature the falling greenery.
This was inked in green and clear embossed.
I recently bought a die that I thought would be
an interesting feature.
This is where I went way outside the box.
Before I attached my die I did some stencilling
and sponging in the same green,
cutting a circle to use as a moon
enhancing it with a gold gel pen.
Finished with attaching to black card base.
Something a little different from the photo
but that is the thing - everyone chooses
what they see that takes their eye and go from there.
Head over and see what's in the Gallery for your inspiration.
from our  Guest Fran and my Talented Team Mates
What stood out for you?
Hope to see yours there.
Thanks for visiting.

Oh Happy Day!

I have been in a pinky/peachy kind of mood lately and
thought it time I brightened things up with a
few favourite deep coloured oxide inks.
and using dies/inks from Tim -
Wildflowers from three different sets
and his Mixed Media Die Set.

My background colours are
Crackling Campfire and Spiced Marmalade.
I then placed AALL&Create Geometric Grid #81
on top and sponged with a wet baby wipe
to lift the ink and create a pattern.
Die cut the corner from the Mixed Media Set.
To add a little extra interest I inked the other side with
AALL&Create Scripts #292 in black.
Die cut several wildflowers also in black
holding in place with a tiny piece of orange cotton.
Sentiment is retired SU Build a Bouquet.
Adhered to black card base.
