It's beginning to look a 'Lot like CHRISTMAS'

It's beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS isn't it
and how timely is our Hostess Sharyn's colour choices?
RED GREEN GOLD

I recently bought the Elizabeth Crafts
Quietfire Merry Christmas die
and found a beautiful card by Selma Stevenson
HERE which I cased.
My card stock is a shimmery gold card stock. I have used this
also to cut out my Merry Christmas die and leaves.
Matted with red and another shimmery paper in green.

I used the following dies -
Spellbinders - Big Scallop Rectangles
Merry Christmas die as above
Poinsettia flowers and leaves are by Marianne Designs
and I inked the edges in gold/red.
MS leaf and fern punches
Cuttlebug Christmas embossing folders
The centre flower has tiny beads to finish.

Hope you will pop over to  OUR BLOG
and check out all the amazing cards by our
November Guest Louise
and the Talented Design Team.
I'm sure these traditional colours will
inspire you to create a few more Christmas Cards
or you may want to go in a different direction.
Hope to see you there.

REMINDER -  For October & November Only:
If you are picked as Chic of the Week for any of our October and November challenges,
you'll be in the running to be chosen as one of two
Guest Designers for the month of January 2016!
The Team will be taking a 2 week break in December,
so we will not have a Guest Designer for December.

Challenge Time at The Mod Squad

A Very Talented and Special Crafty Friend Judy Woodland
is Hosting this weeks challenge at The Mod Squad
and she has asked us to
Create Our Own Background with Stamps.

I created my background by stamping
SU Lotus Blossom & Beyond Basics in Versamark
I then attached the banner inked
with Memento Sweet Plum
Eldenberry & Lulu Lavender.
Sentiment is from GKD
Finished off with a strip of ribbon and rhinestones.
A pretty simple card but love this stamp set as the
flower has 3 steps and it can be inked in so many
different colour combinations.
I chose my favourite this time.

While I was working on this card
I decided to play again so will upload that soon.

Thanks for popping in.

It's Snowing Silver for the Inkspiration Challenge #95 and The Mod Squad

the latest Challenge is
Anything Goes with Silver.

I love using silver on my cards at Christmas
as it is such a cooling colour. Nice for us in
Australia where Christmas is 'HOT'
I took 2 photo of my card to show the shiny
snowflakes and the silver side.
It's a shame you can't see the shimmer on those trees.
***
Here are the products I used -
White Silver & White/Silver speckle paper
Metallic Silver Embossing Powder
Versacolor Silver Ink
Snowflakes by SU Snow Burst
Merry by Elizabeth Craft Designs
Banner behind the trees is a freebie
from a magazine
Trees are by Repeat Impressions
stamped several times
and a touch of glitter underneath
Finished with silver sequins and
some rhinestones

Also over at The Mod Squad
the challenge there is to use
 Silver and or Pearl for
Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
and at Great Impressions for their
November Challenge - Bling on the Holidays.

Happy Brrrrrrrrrrth Day

Over at Crafty Cardmakers our new challenge is to
Make a Winter Birthday Card.
Josephine is Hosting this one.
Here is what I made.

Lucky for me we don't get snow where I live
so I had to go searching for something suitable
for this challenge. I did start another card
with a wintery theme but wasn't happy with it.
I decided to go and check out https://doodlepantry.com/
and came across a perfect set and pre coloured
(my favourite kind) I chose Winter Birthday
How appropriate...
A pretty simple card as I used one of the main images
cut out with a Spellbinder die
some of the pretty papers and sentiment.
Added a few punched balloons and string
Startdust Stickles for the snow and a few
scraps for the tiny banners.

Hope you will pop over to our blog and
check out what my Teammates have made
to inspire you and then come play with us.

Thanks for coming by today.

They're BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL Jumbled Sentiments

the Designer's Choice is to Focus on the Sentiment.

I recently won a $25 voucher from Repeat Impressions
and chose one of their new sets - HELLO.
Unfortunately I haven't cut it yet so
decided to just use the whole stamp as is.
A little bit crazy eh!
I heat embossed it in white then made my
 water coloured background in
SU Melon Mambo/Baja Breeze
Tim Holtz Abandoned Coral/Forest Moss
It was then matted on colours to match the background.
The feathers from Stampin' Up are inked with
a few of the above colours.
Added some ribbon and a button and twine to finish.

Thanks for dropping in.
Love to read what you thought of my jumbled sentiment card.

I'm Celebrating Karen at 'Time Out'

Time Out Challenges are having a
'CASE' Challenge and have chosen
the talented Karen from Snippits.
She is super talented
and I regularly pop in to her blog to see what
wonderful creations she has been making.
Be sure to pop over and check her out for yourself.
You will be inspired.

Here is my take above on Karen's card below.

I also had the same stencil (Tim Holtz Clockwork)
as the one Karen used and had never used it till now.
I decided to try something a little different starting with
inking my paper with the stencil attached with
Tim Holtz Abandoned Coral then blotched
it with Mont Marte Pearl White Acrylic Paint
using my fingers to add depth and has added a lovely sheen.
Because of that I decided to add my sentiment
from Cas-ual Fridays to vellum embossed
with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick.

I had fun making this as I love playing with stencils
and different mediums to see what effect you can create.

Thanks to the DT over at Time Out
for choosing Karen as their 'Case'.

I had made a few other cards before this one
so will pop them up just for you to have a look at
as they aren't quite the same as Karen's Case.

I would also like to enter this card over at one of my
Favourite Sites - The House that Stamps Built
for their Designer's Choice - Focus on Sentiment
