A Mixed Media 'Dream'

Christmas is over and goodies put to bed for a while at least.
Time to relax and just play  - in my case to use some new goodies.

I didn't know where this project would lead to so just
went with what took my fancy!
Funny enough I started two projects and nearly
put this one in the bin as I wasn't happy with the background
but came back to it today and pressed on.
The other item landed in the bin.
I started by adding a couple of patches of Sand Paste
then stenciling the background with
texture paste sprayed with
Tim's Dusty Concord Distress Stain.
Wet my page then added Lindy's Magical's
in Witches Potion Purple/Freaky Franken Lime
and Nuvo Solar Flare Shimmer Powder.
That is where I left it overnight.
I decided it needed a little more so
stenciled the middle using Nuvo Mousse
in Aloe Vera then just  kept adding
different coloured mousses
some Inka Gold and random script.
Inked water colour paper with
the same Magical's above and
Starburst Spray in Tiffany Lou Blue.
Stamped my butterflies with
Black Archival ink then heat embossed
in black. Fussy cut them after blinging them up
with Nuvo Blue Lagoon Crystal Drops.
Attached some lightly coloured dry wall tape and a
flourish before adding the butterflies.
Finished with a popped sentiment cut from
MFT die and distressing some of the edges.

A few close ups!

I am going enter this at
for their current Challenge Here
It's an Anything Goes so the sky's the limit!

Thanks for dropping in today.
Only a few days till the New Year.
Hoping yours will be a Happy Healthy one.

Life is a Beach at Art and Soul Studio Challenge

Time for my latest project  as Ambassador for
Art and Soul Studio over at their Blog.
It's a very Tropical Mood Board for December
as we are in our Summer Season in Oz
 and it depicts just that!

The heading says it all.

I started by adding Gesso to my 5"x 7" canvas
then crumpled up tissue paper for texture.
and DecoArt White Crackle Paint,
 adding colour
with Art /Alchemy Emerald Green/Mermaid Sparkle
and Glitter Gold Colour Craft Lustre Powder
Now to add my sea shells
Nice variety to choose from here.
Cut the mesh bag and thought it only right that
I would use a portion to help add more texture
and painted part of it with
Art Alchemy Gold Rush with a baby wipe.
Now to add those sea shells and some Calcined Bauxite
Then some painting,waxing -
pearls, mica flakes, beads and prills.

and a few close ups
finishing with the required sentiment word (Life)
from Inkadankado

A 'Sweet' Sundae

I have a bit of time up my sleeve as I wait for my granddaughter
to arrive tomorrow to continue her nursing studies.
She is driving down from Cairns and is half way here.
I have just a few house chores in the morning
and am excited to have her rest up here for a day.
She will continue on to stay at my sister's
(a 4 hour drive) for a wee while but will be back
to spend Christmas here.

Now on to a card I made this afternoon for the
I wanted to try out a new stamp for the
emboss resist technique and this wee stamp
from Carabelle Coup de Glace
was just perfect.
I used a mix of products for my resist -
Tim's Distress Festive Berries and
Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry.
Also Brusho's in Brilliant Red/Leaf Green,
a touch of Petal Pink Liquid Pearls for the ice cream
and of course you have to have sprinkles (from Martha Stewart)
on top and falling beside the parfait glass.
Did a wet wash with H2O's around the stamp
which by the way is heat embossed in white.
My sentiment is from my stash and unknown.
I cut my sweets from a postage stamp die
popped on to the next size up and again
adhered to the bigger one and on to
basic white card base.

My mix is Emboss Resist, Stamping, Glitter,
Water colouring and Die Cutting.

Thanks for dropping in

It's a Christmas 'Deer'

Hello and Welcome to today's post for

It's time for our Anything Goes with Dies Challenge

from STAMPlorations Art Marks
with smaller snowflakes with the rubber end
of a pencil and a few tiny splats using
Hero Arts White Pigment Ink.
Added some coloured snowflakes from SU
in Memento Teal Zeal.
My deer is from Crafts4U cut from
brown card stock and then
heat embossed clear.
Sentiment is from
inked in Marvy Timeless Sepia also clear heat embossed.
This was all cut from a stitched die and attached
to Kraft card stock.

A Christmas Themed CUTploration Challenge

December is here and Christmas is just
a few weeks away. Just in case you are running late
with your Christmas cards the CUTplorations Gals
have added their makes Here to inspire you to
finish them off with this photo below.

Here is my take.

The first thing I noticed was the poinsettia's
and have made a card using that flower but
as I had a new Christmas stamp I had not inked
I went with that for this post.
You will see the other one a little later.
I knew when I decided to use Kraft card stock I wanted
texture on my Large Christmas Candles
Here's a close up so you can get a
good look at how it turned out
After heat embossing them with Lawn Fawn
White Embossing Powder I coloured them with
Tim's Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn/Crushed Olive
Carved Pumpkin and Festive Berries.
The texture I used on my candles was
DecoArt White Crackle Paste.
(Love the result I got)
The lit candle and berries were painted with
Fresh Orange Metallic Paint from
Finnabair Art Alchemy
The sentiments are from  Homespun Christmas.
Of course I had to add falling snow which was
splattered using white paint.
This was then cut with the
to finish my card.

Season's Greetings for Happy Little Stampers

Hello and Welcome to today's post for
Happy Little Stampers and it's our
Watercolour Challenge
Our Optional Twist is a favourite of mine.
I just love using STENCILS!

I had this background and stencil done quite some time ago
and wasn't sure how to finish it off.
I decided to break down the background slightly by
inking up the same Lindy's Magical's in Screamin' Banshee Black
and adding a frame.
My Christmas tree is from ARTplorations
made by mixing texture paste, silver and blue paint.
While wet sprinkled it heavily with glitter
giving it quite a bit of depth.
My Season's Greetings is  from CUTplorations.
After I had glued it down I realized it was
too hard to see so got out my white Uniball pen
and went around the edges.
Unfortunately it is still hard to see in the photograph
but is clearer IRL.
This was all attached to white card base.

Pop over and see what my Team Mates
have produced. We would love to see you
in our Gallery this month.

Don'r forget -
Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop!
