Seashells by the Seashore!

Welcome to today's post for Just Us Girls
Nancy is Hosting and I am sure she is thinking of the seaside
with the WORD -Seashells for this weeks Word Challenge.

I wanted to do something a little different for this one
and really did go way outside the box starting with
a seaside paper napkin attached to card base.
Then it all went from there.
The seaside has fish nets and shells abounding right!
so up to the shed I went and raided the
shell grit we give to our chickens.
There are two types there - some very tiny
and others more realistic.
The fish net is of course cheesecloth
for the shells to lay on. The hardest part was
waiting for the gel medium to dry
setting the shells in place. I did add some
clear crackle on a few items but hard to see.
Glossy accents on the bird and some shimmer
here and there.
Computer generated text to finish.

I took a couple of close ups to show you better detail
of all the different shells -

I had so much fun creating this Mixed Media project -
now head over and see what our Guest Kristen and
my Talented Team Mates created.
Love to see you get out those seashell supplies
and add yours to our Gallery.
Thanks for visitng.
Love to read your thoughts on my seashell piece.
Update! Just found a few new challenges to add this to
thanks to a friend. It is The Inspired Challenge

Creative Artiste Mixed Media Make

The new Anything Goes Mixed Media Challenge at

After a long hiatus Mo & Jo have returned to help me out
with this MIxed Media project.
It's good to be back in the swing of things with visitors
and holidays all behind me.
I have an abundance of collected straws so thought
I would put a few to ink and wax.
Started my background with a gessoed 5/7 canvas

Sorry these two photos were taken with the light above my work desk.

Added AA metallic paint and wax
placing the straws and chipboard pieces.
I then added bits and bobs from my stash
waxing as I went. The right hand corner is
an old Cuttlebug die I thought filled a space as I couldn't find
a suitable sentiment.
Splatters from my gold posca pen.
Added coloured stones, glitter and pearls.
Found a laser cut butterfly that fitted in nicely
and my project was complete.

Some close ups to show the detail!

We have Michelle
as our Guest this month so hop over and
check out what mixed media creations
we have all made for your inspiration.
Sure hope you get time to  add yours to the Gallery.
Thanks for taking time out to visit today.

Beauty begins -

It's time for our Anything Goes Stencil Challenge at

I saw a lovely CAS card over on Pinterest made by the
talented Karen Dunbrook Here and knew
I had the stamp set she used so have (cased) her card
using different colours and stencil.
The stencil is from ARTplorations Leaf Prints 3
and stamped flowers/sentiment STAMPloraions Beautiful You.
Stencilling is inked with Tim's Peeled Paint.
Attached to coloured card stock and
adhered to white card base.
This was a simple fun card and perfect for when
Mo and Jo are somewhere else.
Head over and see what the rest of the
Stencil Team created and come join in
with yours in the Gallery.
Thanks for dropping by
