A Reminder from a 'Mixed Up Girl'

It's the Middle of the Month and time for me to remind you
Our Current Challenge over at Mix It Up has been
running for a few weeks now. Have you checked it out yet?

Here is what I had fun making and playing with our
optional twist of Distressing!
It can be using inks or tools. I chose both.
There is a lot going on here so I will start with
my background. I had a fellow Mixed Up Girl
Cheryl (big Thank You) come to stay with me
after we went to a craft show and
she brought with her -  her gelli plate.
Well I had soooooooo much fun playing with this
new technique to me and I found a perfect piece
to start off my creation (if you call it that)

Here's a few close ups

These are the products I used here -
Texture Paste
Pop Art Stencil
Inka Gold - Apricot/Hydrangea
Dylusions Spray - Fuchsia
Mesh
SB Die cut from gelli plate background
STAMPlorations Artful Flutters/Mixed Grunge
Metallic Thread
Distress Inks - Black Soot/Aged Mahogany
and Dried Marigold.
Think I got everything!

Thanks for dropping in - love reading your comments
and
Hope to see your project Here

Thought I would join in the current
Mixed Media challenge at

There's lots of Texture here. Check it out Here

Wishing You Happiness

It's Colour Week at Just Us Girls and our Host is Nancy
choosing Dark Pink Pink & Blue.

I'm afraid my photograph hasn't shown the true colours
of my stenciled flower. The darker pink looks quite red here
but in fact is a really nice pink.
I made this a fairly cas card by stenciling the
ARTplorations Rose Duet  in Altenew Frosty Pink & Coral Berry
I then sponged Sparkle Medium over the flowers
for a little shimmer.
The border dies are from
and the top one is popped to show a frame.
I splattered some blue acrylic paint to add a bit of interest
after I had stamped my sentiment from
I inked it with SU Brilliant Blue but was a little dark so
inked it again with Hero Arts White Pigment Ink to lighten it.
This card was not my idea. I saw This One
from Wei Wei Wang and cased it.

Don't forget to pop over to our blog Here
and see what our Guest Aileen Ryan
and the Team created. Hope you come join us this week.
You could be our Chic of the Week
and then be in the running for Guest Designer in September.

Thanks for stopping by.
