Love me a 'Thistle'

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
I'm Hosting our Colour Challenge
and chose those that would show off my favourite flower.
I did make a mistake with my choice - should have been
black instead of  navy but I did add touches of navy
to replicate the 'blue bells' of Scotland to go with
the 'flower of Scotland' The Thistle.

I knew when I saw the Cosy Cup Coaster Die
I wanted to use them for this challenge.
Thanks so much to my JUGS Teammate Angie
and another crafty friend who so generously
sent me a nice supply.
Background has been embossed, adding
several coloured coasters and topped with
my thistle and blue bells coloured
 with Lindy's Magicals.
I know they aren't really blue bells...
The Thistle word is cut from a
very old cuttlebug alphabet set.
Finished with several die cut bows,
a lavender mat onto white card base.
I so enjoyed making this one.
Hope you get a chance to play along with us this week.
You could be our Chic of the Week
and in the running for a Guest Spot in the New Year.
Don't forget to see how our Current Guest Joyce
and the Team chose to use these colours.
Thanks for stopping by.

Pink and Brown doesn't make me 'Frown'

The New Challenge over at Color Hues
is to use Pink and Brown.
I love these two colours together so thought
I would play along.

I got out the retired SU stamp set -
Heartfelt Blooms inking it with
VersaFine Clair Fallen Leaves
as I knew it would ink up well.
(It  is a very dark brown)
I wanted a bit of sheen so heat embossed with
Ranger Frosted Crystal. I then added
some pink colour to the flowers
then some clear rock candy crackle paint for shine.
Flower centre is raised and coloured brown.
Background was stenciled with
ARTplorations Nested Circles
with pink and brown inks.
Cut my floral image with
Uniquely Creative
Cross Stitch Nesting Arch die
and sponged around the edges.
Sentiment is from Altenew.
Added pink ribbon and a bow
and popped onto pink card base.
Unfortunately my card didn't photograph well
and does look better IRL.

Thanks for dropping in
See you again soon.

A CAS Reminder for STAMPlorations

 Welcome to today's post.
We are half way through our monthly Challenges at STAMPlorations
and I have gone with a simple belated birthday card
showcasing one of my favourite ARTplorations Stencils

It is so easy to work with just a bit selective sponging.
I used Tim's Distress Inks.

My background is the new
lightly sponged

I added some tiny splatters.
Framed my flowers with the

and finishing with my belated sentiment from
adhering to coloured card stock.

Pop over and see what all the STAMP girls have created
as there is always so much inspiration for you to
get motivated to play and add your entry to the Gallery
to win one of our fabulous prizes.
Thanks for dropping in.
Till next time it's Cherrio from
