Simply 'Hello'

Hello and a Big Welcome to this weeks challenge at
Just Us Girls
Bobby is our Host and chose a Big Favourite -
 very in vogue and popular.

Oh how I love making backgrounds!
I have played around with some old and new products here.
Always nice to see how they stack up and I must say
I am REALLY happy how this card turned out.
Wanting to get away from the usual flower thing
I chose a new stencil from Kaisercraft - Bamboo.
This was stenciled with
Golden Olive Metallic Gilding Polish.
My watercolour background(s) were made with
Sea Grass Green Magicals and
Prima Marketing Rustic Brown Metallic Paint.
The front was cut with a circle die
then adding the bamboo stencil which was
smooched on the side with distress ink.
Behind that is corrugated cardboard
sponged with gold paste and a touch of
the green Magicals.
Again I backed that with leftovers from
the front smooching. As you can see it is a lot lighter
and adds another dimension.
I finished with a simple die cut sentiment from Altenew.

Our July Guest Julia and the Team
have also had fun with their watercolour backgrounds.
I look forward to seeing yours in our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping by.

It's your 'Birthday'

Hello and Welcome to today's make.
Since I still had my CAS-ual Friday's Stamps out
I made another card for their current challenge
 asking for Heat Embossing

I went into my bits box to see what I could find
and came across the background piece I used here.
It is one I did some time ago at my girlfriend's house
where we were experimenting with shaving cream.
She had never done it before.
I know the re-inkers I used would have been
Tim's Peacock Feathers and Black Soot
but not sure of the gold.
I heat embossed the flower from
CAS-ual Fridays Wonderful Words
with Zing Aqua EP
adding Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the petals
(which can't be seen in the photo)
and tiny beads to the centre after I fussy cut it.
I did have another one that had coloured
petals but it landed you know where.
I cut the square peek a boo die from MFT
from white card stock and popped
in front of the patterned paper.
Added my heat embossed sentiment from
CAS-ual Fridays Shenanigans
and the Birthday Die from CUTplorations Birthday Word Die
cut from SU Tip Top Taupe card

Thanks so much for coming by today.
Love to read your comments.
Till next time -

My Happy die is from CUTplorations
popped and cut several times for depth.
Sentiment is out of the
STAMPlorations Balloons & Banners Set.
Added 3 punched glitter stars to finish.

It's CAS-ual Embossing

Hi and Welcome.
Today I got to create a card
for the  CAS-ual Fridays
Heat Embossing Challenge.
I started by heat embossing multiples
of flowers from the
CAS-ual Friday's Wonderful Words Set
with Ranger Black E/P.
I then got out Distress Inks in
Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin
and Abandoned Coral and blended away.
The background needed a little something so
stenciled off some colour from Tim's Stone Stencil.
Tried a little Clear Crackle to the flowers
and some Antique Silver Kindy Glitz to the centres.
Haven't used that in an age and surprised it was still fine.
Added a few splatters and then heat embossed
my sentiment from the same set.
Finished by added to black card stock.

Hope you like my make for the day.
Thanks for dropping in and leaving a Comment.

'tis another Poinsettia Card

I'm back with another Christmas card for a couple of challenges
My second one for CAS Christmas Card Challenge
Check out the details Here and
The  City Crafter are Celebrating
Christmas in July with Silver
so will pop this over to their Gallery.

My Christmas cards are not complete until I
use my Spellbinder Poinsettia Die.

This one wasn't quite as quick as my previous
poinsettia card but is still a CAS style.
I cut my card stock on an angle and then
sponged some Iridescent Medium with a
piece of bubble wrap (Thanks Loll).
Love the shimmer!
I then got to that poinsettia inking
card stock with Coral Reef Wax
wiping some of the colour off the top with a spotty stencil
from Kaisercraft giving it a nice effect.
I cut several flowers and glued them all together.
Behind it is some silver leaves from
Tim's Holiday Greens.
Added grey card stock and my
Merry Christmas die from Paper Smooches
cut from the same silver paper
as my leaves. This was the hardest part
trying to keep it all together and getting it straight.
Finished off with pearls and gems

Thanks for dropping in.

'CELEBRATE'

Hi there and Welcome to today's Post.
It's for the new Challenge over at
Anything Goes with Dies.

I have this gorgeous Cover Plate from CUTplorations
that I used here and had recently been playing
with a new addiction to me - Alcohol Inks
so decided to cut it up and use on the front
of some pearescent card stock which matched.
Pretty simple right!
All I had to do then was to cut a few CELEBRATE
dies again from CUTplorations using the same card base
and my card was done.
Nice when a card comes together easily. We need that
for the other time that nothing seems to go to plan.

Pop over and see what my Team Mates created
with their dies and come join us this month.
Hope to see you in our Gallery.

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop!
Check out all the details HERE.

IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS
AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER,
YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!

Thanks for dropping in.

A Mix Up Watercolour Card

Hi and Welcome. I have a card for you today for the
CAS Mix Up and CAS Watercolour Challenges.
Same card though!
Check out the details for Mix Up Here
We are asked to show how we colour our Dies
and Watercolour Here to Splash Watercolour.
Loll has an easy peasy Tutorial Here
Now those that know me are aware that I love
messing around with all sorts of techniques.
Here is what I came up with -
I am using 'those' SU 4 Feathers Dies
but before I got to them I started with my background.
I inked my craft mat with Tim's Mermaid Lagoon
then added some  Perfect Pearls Powder. All I had to do was
a bit of thumping my watercolour cs onto the mat
and drying as I went along making sure I only covered
part of my paper. It has a real shimmer IRL.
I then cut out my feathers and randomly thumped
parts of the feather. The back one I inked the edges.
My twine wasn't the right colour so I inked that up with
the Mermaid Lagoon (with my fingers)
Yes I had nice coloured fingers when I finished.
The feather were then popped after I added my twine.
Sentiment is from 49 AND Market.

My MIX is -  Die Cuts
Splash Water Colouring
Distress Inks and Powder
Stamping
My CAS is Splash Watercolouring
on the background and cut feathers.

Clean and Simple on Sunday
have also got a CAS Splash Water Colour Challenge
so will pop this over there.

Since it's Winter here in
'The Land Down Under'  it's a great time to play
and I have a few other cards in the finishing stages
so there is more to come for those CAS Challenges.

Once more I will add this over at
Monochrome Magic for their latest Challenge Here
This time not with the twist of 'purple'

Till next time

Celebrate the Season for CAS Christmas

Hello and Welcome
The new challenge over at
and sure to be a big hit with a
favourite Christmas Flower - Poinsettia
to take pride of place for this month.
Check it out Here
Over at Little Red Wagon their Challenge is
Christmas in July so this card will be in both Galleries.

This was the easiest and quickest Christmas card
I have ever made so it's going to be mass produced
for later in the year to help me out 'cause
I am so far behind and I know I will
need them in a hurry.
Here is how I made it.
That beautiful poinsettia is the
I saw Shery - the Owner make a card with this flower
and she stamped the back of the stamp then turned it around
and stamped the correct side off centre a bit and that is
what I have done here. Doesn't it look fabulous!
I used Memento Sweet Plum on the background and
Eldenberry on the main image.
Added some WOS Gold/Green
to the centre berries and Nuvo Glitter Gloss
on the front flowers.
Added my sentiment from
Cut this from a stitched die and attached to
SU Rich Razzleberry card stock.
I refrained from added gems or glossy accents
on those berries and think I did the right thing.

AAA Cards are also celebrating
Christmas in July Here so joining in
their Gallery also.

# Update - and how could I not add this card to the
Monochrome Magic with the
Twist of Purple!
Monochrome as well. Yay!
I do love 'Purple'

Thanks for dropping in.
