It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls

Hello and Welcome to today's post for
Photo Week at Just Us Girls.
Maria as Host has chosen this gorgeous photo.

I love seeing the changing colours of the trees as it
doesn't happen in my neck of the 'bush'
As it is coming into that time of the year over the pond
it's perfect timing for all those 'fall' coloured creations.
As I had only recently got a new to me stamp/die set from
STAMPlorations called Oh So Grateful
ohsogratefulstampsdie I had to play with it especially as I
wanted to focus on the pumpkins in the truck.
I got out Tim's Oxide inks and inked away
on glossy card stock wiping it with a
paper towel then adding layers of
clear embossing powder. I tried the crackle effect
by putting it in the freezer but didn't quite work out
as good as I wanted.
My background was smooched and then I cut out part of the
inked birch tree die putting them behind my cut out oval die.
The sentiment as you can see is from the stamp set above
I love how motley it stamps.
Finished my card by attaching to orange card stock.

Hop over and see how our Guest Julie and the Team
were inspired by that gorgeous photo and
come join us in our Gallery this week.

So much happening for me in the next few weeks
so if I don't get to comment much I apologize.
Life will get back to normal after
all my family and friends from far and wide
return to their own homes at the end of the month.

Thanks for stopping by

Go After Your Dreams

Time for the latest Challenge over at
It's our Photo Inspirations and hasn't
Kylie chosen a beauty!
I've gone for a mixed bag here
focusing on the flowers in the background
but colouring mine in the yellow tones
of the light and using
similar words to the above sentiment.
I recently got this gorgeous stamp called
Darling Dog Roses from STAMPlorations
and this is the second card I have made with it.
You may have seen it Here
I heat embossed the flowers in white.
Once more I got out Tim's Distress Inks this time in
Squeezed Lemonade Fossilized Amber and Mowed Lawn
using a water brush to colour.
I added some splatters and inked my sentiment
from STAMPlorations Noteworthy in Fossilized Amber.
Attached my floral image onto SU card stock
after cutting with a stitched die.

Pop over and see what my Team Mates have created
and come join in our Gallery this week.
Love to see you there!
Thanks for dropping by.
Till next time - Cherrio from

This IS for 'Someone Special'

Hello and Welcome
Today's card was made for my BFF so
of course it had to be 'Special' and her birthday
is just a few days before mine.

I was keeping this for a challenge that I thought
fitted in with my card above and I found that at
Seize the Birthday for their current challenge to use

I recently bought the Retired SU  Botanical Blooms Set
and a few of you would have seen me use it before.
It was perfect for this card with all the dies.
I wanted the background to be a little subtle and
knew I had some patterned vellum in my stash. Perfect!
I know she likes browns/copper colours so I went with that
and some gorgeous teal card stock that was purchased
when I was staying with her a while back.
I cut out a number of flowers and stamens
and the leaves from gold card stock and some
painted paper using Rustic Brown Metallic Paint.
I inked the stamped centres with Tim's Gathered Twigs.
I decided to add a strip of embossing on the side
from Couture Creations. Adhered it to my card base
with the vellum and gold ribbon from Christina Re.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Fluttery Set
heat embossed in gold with gold thread
added to the back and popped.
Finished with a tiny flower on the side,
Pearls and a sparklet to the centre of the flowers and vellum.
