Hello Summer!

Hello and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
It's a New Month with a New Guest Designer
Welcome Tristan Dawes from Tinstardesigns.
So happy to have you join us with your talents
for our Challenges for August
which starts off with our Word Week.
Carol is Hosting and chose
Something I am looking forward to - warmer weather
as it's a great time to get out in the Garden.
Hence my choice of a floral card this week.

A pretty simple card focusing on the
Elizabeth Craft Designs Black Eyed Susan
die cut multiple times smooched with
bright coloured Magical Powders
adding glitter to the centre.
The background was done the same way.
This was cut from a postage stamp die backed with
bright paper and attached to linen card base.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations Hello Coffee

Pop over and see how Tristan and the Team
chose to use our 'Summer' Word.
They are all fabulous.
Join us this week and you could be our
Chic of the Week and be chosen as
our Guest in October.

Thanks for dropping in

Mixed Media No. 3

It's time for our Anything Goes Challenge at
Creative Artiste Mixed Media
and here is my project for August.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to make so
rummaged through some of my Mixed Media bits
and this is the result.

I decided to cut up a really thick piece of cardboard
that my watercolour paper came in and applied
heavy gesso with my new silicone brush.
I liked the way it came out uneven.
I then cut up some chipboard from
Which Craft Do You Do and started placing my bits
to see where  and what I would use.
after I had gesso'ed the pieces.
I then stenciled my cardboard with Memory Box
Texture Distress Grid
and placing my elements and cheesecloth
ready to gesso.
adding some large and small art stones
This is when the fun part starts by adding all the colours.
Some of the products I used are
Lindy's Spray's/Shakers - Caribbean Blue
Cowabunga Copper, Afternoon Delight Denim,
Ken Oliver's Metallic Copper/Coral
Nuvo Shimmer Powder - Blue Blitz
Imagination Craft - Rusty Patina
Art Alchemy Waxes -
Mint Sparkle, Fire Ruby, Peacock
Mermaid Sparkle Sparks
Stamped sentiment on to a piece of an ice cream stick.
I got so into adding the colours I forgot to photograph the process.

Here are some close ups

That's it for this month.
Love reading your comments.
Thanks for popping in - till next time
PS I have something totally different for you next month!

What Beauty Lives 'Under the Sea'

Hello and Welcome to today's post for
It's the first of the month so that means it's our
Watercolour Challenge.
Our challenges are always Anything Goes but
we do have a Twist that you are welcome to use.
This month it is Ocean.
It's certainly not the weather for having a dip here in Australia
so I have gone with the beautiful sea horse
that live deep down among the colourful sea bed.

My sea horse is from the AAandCreate #137 stamp set
I bought at a recent craft show.
I heat embossed the sea horse and sentiment in
Deep Water embossing powder from Colour Blast.
The fun then began with using Lindy's Sprays in
Tiffany Lou Blue, Glory of the Sea and
Cowabunga Copper for the sea bed.
Heat embossed some pebbles
with Midas Touch Embossing Glitter
and the sea shell with
Wow Chocolate Caramel Embossing Powder.
Some Impression Obsession Bubbles were heat embossed
coming from the sea horse's mouth.
Added some final touches with Rusty Patina Texture Paste,
Nuvo Mouse in Coastal Surf and Toasted Almond.
Glossy Accents on the sea horses eye.
Cut my ocean scene with a stitched die,
attached to matching card stock and then to  my card base.
It certainly was fun creating this underwater scene.

Hope you get a chance to pop over and see what
my Team Mates created and come join us this month.
Love to see you in our Gallery.
Thanks for dropping in.

My Mixed Media Project for Random Arts

Hello and Welcome. It's my turn to showcase my take on this Mood Board

It's a monthly challenge and
All the details can be found Here

I started my 5/7 canvas by attaching scrunched tissue paper
adhering it with Ultra Matt Gel

I brushed over that with Prima Parisian Rosewood
(big mistake) but was too severe
 so covered it with
the Little Birdie Craggy Stencil (out of stock),
Transparent Gloss Texture Paste and
Waiting for the crackle to take effect
Once that cracked I added some
 and also on to the
and circle frame.
I then tore a piece of coloured corrugated cardboard
and added the Vintage Gold Wax including the edges.
Added some lace with ribbon threaded through it
and continued with waxing the leaves and flowers
ready for placement.
Adding some finishing touches with  a pearl for the centre flower,
waxing the middle one and some Nuvo Drops for the small one.
Waxed in gold and black with 3 black pearls.
Here's a few close ups -

And another of the finished canvas.

The products I have used from Random Arts are linked
in my tutorial. Do drop in to see the amazing products
available. Great prices and super fast postage.
If there is something in particular you are in NEED of
don't hesitate to get in contact with Amanda and
she will try her best to source it for you.

Thanks for dropping in. Hope you have enjoyed
looking at my canvas.
I will be back again next month at the
Random Arts Blog working with an 'Awesome Mood Board'
that I can't wait to get my hands into.

Till next time...
