CASimply 'For You'

It's time for the new Anything Goes Stencil Challenge at

A CAS card with textured stencilling
and adding a Tim Holtz Wildflower that was
sitting on my desk left over from another project
 (how good was that)
inked with his oxides, a touch of
shimmer from Lindy's Magical's
and some splatters on kraft card base.
Love how a card comes together quickly
especially as this needed to be loaded in time
for when our Challenge went live.
Spending a few weeks in the Tropics
made play time short in May.
Head over and see what the rest of the Stencil Team created
and add yours to the Gallery.
Till next time -

It's Mixed Media Time.

How time flies when you are having fun!
I have been away holidaying for Mother's Day
Family Birthdays and meeting my new Great Granddaughter
so my craft time is just getting back to some normality.

Our New Anything Goes Challenge over at
has gone live!

As it happens when you spend time away
Mo and Jo seem to tend to come back slowly.
My Mixed Media project luckily was started
while I had my girlfriend visiting and we
didn't get to finish what we had started so -
that gave me a head start before Mo and Jo returned.

The background and stamped dragonfly from
Visible Image Live in the Moment
were the starting point to go for my simple tag.

Adding Little Birdie stencilled background with DecoArt textured sand paste,
reinking and fussy cutting my dragonfly.
Grungy text stamping from STAMPlorations and AALL&Create.
Washi tape  and sentiment also AALL&Create.

Finished with popping the cut and coloured dragonfly,
 black cotton, posca pen splatters,
Art Alchemy waxes and a purple backing.
Head over and see what inspiration awaits you in our
Gallery from the Talented Designers.
Hope you can join in with yours this month.
Thanks for dropping in and commenting.

Guest Designing at Tic Tac Toe Challenge

I am thrilled to have been invited to be a Guest Designer
for  Challenge #211 at
Tic Tac Toe Challenge with a 'Crafty Twist'
using three elements from their Mood Board.
Which way will you go with this one below?

Everybody loves butterflies don't they?
As you can see I went with top right, middle and bottom left.
(butterfly, die cut and embossing)
I have just got back from a family holiday so went CAS.
My background is using the shaving cream technique
inking the Carabelle Studio Libellules & Palillions
Butterfly stamp with Versafine Clair Nocturne
and Heat Embossed clear.
My die cut sentiment is from Kaisercraft.
Framed and attached to coloured card base.

I also had a girlfriend visiting for some time
having fun delving into all things creative.
The background for the top card was one of those days.
This card above is one we played with together
after purchasing the Woodware Mini Flower Silhouettes
I was happy to be able to use it here for the middle row of
(pink, die cut and stencil)
I had already made a card similar
but in different colours Here
All I needed to do with this one was
add a die cut sentiment, a small pearl,
and a yellow strip on the side before attaching to card base.
The pink flower was inked and heat embossed.
Added some splatters.
Stencilled background is from Clear Scraps Diamonds
and sentiment CUTplorations.
Head over Here
and see what three elements the Talented Designers
chose to inspire you with and add yours to the Gallery.
A big Thank You for inviting me to be your Guest.

A Colourful Floral Happy Birthday

I recently had a girlfriend visiting for quite some time
and we had a whole lot of fun creating in so many different ways.
The card I present here is one we made together.
I wanted her to have fun with the layers of the Honey Bee Coneflower Die.

As it worked out it is perfect for the challenges at
and

We played with a whole lot of different coloured
Lindy's Magical's and each chose the ones we liked together.
Embossed the bottom half using Quickuts Diamonds and Dots
attached ribbon and layered up my
brightly coloured conflower.
Think it pops with colour and dimension!
The variegated Happy Birthday sentiment is
one my girlfriend bought while here.
It was a whole lot of fun creating this card with my friend.

PS after they left here we met up again when I
spent a few weeks with my daughter for celebrations
and soaking up the sunshine and warmth in the north
before coming home to the start of winter.

Thanks for coming to visit and leaving
your kind comments - so appreciated.

Simply Thinking of You

It's our CAS Week at Just Us Girls and
Hosting is Lisa E and chose Silhouette

I had so many ideas running through my head
and decided on a very old Gina K stamp set -
Follow Your Dreams which had the perfect stamps
for this challenge.
My background sunset is inked with
Tim's Oxide inks and Nuvo shimmer powder.
Added the reeds, stamped off grass
for a shadow effect then the stag with
Versafine Clair Nocturne.
A little colour and shimmer for grounding
then a simple sentiment from SU.
Die cut from ScrapDragon adhered to
black card base.
What a fun challenge isn't it!
Why not come join in and add your silhouette card
to our gallery.
I am sure you will after being inspired by
all the different makes from our Guest Claire
and my talented Team Mates.

LIfe Under the Sea.

Bobby is our Host at Just Us Girls
for our Photo/Mood Board Challenge.

Here's a larger view!
I wasn't sure which way to go with this Mood Board
Travel or the Gorgeous Colours.
You probably guessed the colours won out
and went under the sea with that
adorable sea horse from AALL&Create.
The background was a big splash of colours
from Lindy's Magical's
Heat embossed the seahorse,
added bubbles (hard to see)
and sentiment from the same stamp set.
Corner rounded and attached to navy card base.
Check out what inspired our Guest Claire and
the Team from the Moodboard.

One of a Kind!

Our New Challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters
is a favourite of all crafters - FLOWERS!

The Thistle is my favourite flower and I do love
a nice thistle stamp like the one I have used above.
It's from AALL&Create - One of a Kind.
I wanted to keep it CAS and not colour the flower
but make a background to highlight it
using Lindy's Magical's and some stamping.
Finished with some posca splatters and doodling.
My team mates have created beautiful floral cards
for your inspiration so head over and check them out
and add yours to our gallery.
Thanks for visiting.

Imagination is ART!

Our New Anything Goes Challenge at

I still have my girlfriend visiting and we had a day
of getting messy! We had a great time and
introduced her to the gel press to name just one.
And so our Mixed Media makes began.
We decided to create something similar
Here is hers.

As you can see they are pretty similar.
A few close ups from mine!

As I said earlier we had a play with the gel press
and my background is from that.
Added stenciling, stamping, cheesecloth,
art stones and some waxing.
Just a quick post again. So much happening atm.
Our visitors will be moving on to more travels soon
as I then head north to spend Mother's Day with
one of my daughters, grandchildren and their
young toddlers. So looking forward to seeing
our great granddaughter for the first time.
Head over and see amazing Mixed Media
from the rest of the Team and hope you
get time to create for our Gallery this month.
Thanks for visitng

Guest Designer at Try It On Tuesday

I was thrilled to be invited to be a
Guest Designer at  Try It On Tuesday
after being chosen as a Top 5 at a recent challenge.
How awesome that their New Challenge is to
Use a Stencil.

Those that know me are well aware of how I
love using my stencils is all different ways.
For my Guest card I used a fabulous stencil from
Scrapmats - ST9088.
I started by adding texture paste to my heavy card base.
Once dry I got out my Lindy's Magical's
and let the colours run through the cracks
to achieve the gorgeous colours.
My dragonfly is from ARTplorations, die cutting
the main image from leftovers on my glass mat.
Cut one again only using the wings and body
for added dimension.
She was popped on top of cheesecloth
and finishing with a vellum sentiment
from STAMPlorations.
Adhered to matching bright card stock.
Have you been over to check how the
talented TIOT Design Team chose to stencil?
Hope so and  inspired you to create yours
and add to the Gallery.
Thanks for dropping by for a visit and commenting.
