Sketch #378 at Sketch Saturday

It is my second week as Guest Designer at
The generous sponsor this week is
Simon Says Stamps and the prize is a
$25 Gift Certificate
Here is this weeks Sketch
As it is September our Jacaranda Trees
will be coming out in bloom soon here in
Australia and they
are truly a beautiful site.
For this reason I decided to base my card around them
and my favourite colour.

I cheated here because I have this lovely digi set
from Doodle Pantry and you can find it Here
It is a pre coloured set (my favourite kind)
making my card super simple and quick to make.
As you can see I used the DP from the set
for my background and framed them in white.
My main focal image is cut from Spellbinders Squares
and backed with Lacey Squares sponged with
Memento Sweet Plum.
Background edges is also inked with the same.
Sentiment is cut with JustRite Vintage labels
Image sponged with Memento Lulu Lavender
Added some ribbon and a little bow to finish.

So there you have it for this week. Pop over to
Sketch Saturday for the DT's take on this sketch.

I'll be back again next week for another
 Great Sketch Challenge.
See you then...

Happy Birthday Balloons

Hosting this weeks Challenge at
is Cheryl and it is TREND  WEEK.
and she chose a popular trend at present
BALLOONS.

I have hot air balloon stamps but there wasn't
anything I could find that I thought suitable in my stash
balloon wise and I wanted to use the birthday kind
so I put out an SOS to my crafty friends
who I knew had some dies and asked them to cut some for me.
Well I received 2 envelopes full of different shapes and sizes.

Of course I went straight away to play with some...
okay I used just a few but liked the big balloons
so got out an old Cuttlebug Alphabet Die Set
and added the HAPPY to them.
Pretty easy eh? and then popped them onto
some iridescent shimmery paper.
Added some string to the balloons, a few random
sequins and gemstones and the big
birthday stamp from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps
heat embossed in gold to finish.

Pop over to our BLOG
and check out what our Guest Melissa
and Jugheads have made.

Another Tree for 'The House'

For the last few weeks at The House that Stamps Built
the Rock Stars have uploaded 2 techniques
 I haven't used before.
This weeks is to create a background with Painter's Tape
You can see the details Here from Deonna.
I have seen this technique before
but never got around to trying it out.
Now's my chance.
PS I have delayed starting making that birthday card
till the week end so I can concentrate on it fully. See last post.

This card is again for the DCC99 - Falling for Fall challenge

Now apart from very inky fingers this was a breeze
and makes a cas card with great effect.

Here are the products I used -
Brown/White card stock
Masking tape using
Memento Morocco/Peanut Brittle
Tim Holtz Dried marigold
Tim Holtz Speckles Stencil over the masked strips
Repeat Impressions Tree 1610
heat embossed in Terracotta
A few strips of scrap DP on the corners
Sentiment is from Cheery Lynn.

That's it for me for now

Just a quick post today as I will be busy
over the next few days working on a
special birthday card for my BFF.

this great craft without her.

Thanks for popping in for a peek.

It's All Floral at Crafty Cardmakers

This week over at Crafty Cardmakers
Julie is hosting this challenge and wants to see creations
with floral embellishments.
Details can be found Here.

I had my base card stock, background stamp,
embossing folder and die all sorted
and was going to use my favourite stamp/die set
when I realized I had used it in last week's challenge
so couldn't do that - hence I went to my
drawers with bought flowers in and started
looking through what I would use.
Well I had flowers scattered everywhere
trying this one and that one till
I finally decided on a variety of coloured,
shape and sizes of my flowers.
***
I started with kraft card stock as my base
and Stampin' Up hexagon frame.
My background is inked with
Stampin' Up Woodgrain  in
Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap
The hexagon die is embossed with
Cuttlebug Textile folder and popped.
Flowers are from my stash.
The vines behind them are from Kaisercraft
as is the pearls.
Sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping
cut from JustRite Vintage Labels
and inked with SU Rich Razzleberry.

I am also entering this card at
My Time to Craft for their Challenge #303 Flowers.

Thanks for dropping in and hope you liked
what you saw.

Till next time Cherrio from
