There's an 'Aussie' Kinda Snowman too

It's snowing 'somewhere' just not here
but Maria is thinking of it and chose this photo
for this weeks Challenge at Just Us Girls
Hello and Welcome to my post.
Snowmen are scarce in my stamp stash
and the only snowman you would see near me is
 a 'sandman' near the beach
and this is exactly what I made here
to go with the traditional Snowy scene above.

The snow and sand man are from an old
Gina K stamp set 'Snow One Like You'
The wintery trees are from
Tim's Great Outdoors and the palm tree
Inkadinkado Flamingo Fun.
The snowman is covered with Liquid Pearls,
hat gloves and scarf red glitter.
and lots of other glitter to the background.
(a little hard to see)
The sandman inked in Australian colours and
got caught up in the sea foam from the rough sea lol
(puffed up with Little Birdie's Textured Embossing Paste)
Added some embossing powder also for the sand.

Did you have a little chuckle when you saw my
unconventional snowman?
I did have fun creating him, after all we will be
sweltering in the Summer Heat and the beach
really would be the place to be.
Pop over and see what Kristin and the Team created.
No doubt some adorable snowy creations.
Love to see yours in our Gallery.
Look forward to reading your thoughts on my
wintery/summery cards.
Thanks for dropping in.

Here for You

Hi there and Welcome.
Popping in to add this card to the
November Challenge over at the

I thought I would try something a little different with my
Monoprint card and used -
Lindy's Moonshadow Mist in Tawny Turquoise.
These are quite different to other Lindy's Sprays as they
have a sepia toned base with a fabulous shimmer
as you can see here and above.
Lindys Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mist 2oz Bottle - Tawny Turquoise
I sprayed this onto the
Kaisercraft  Bamboo Stencil
flipped it over and pressed it down onto
my Acrylic Painting Paper I got from our local Aldi Store
It has a nice texture to it.
Lifted it off and was surprised how good a coverage I got.
I cut it to a size I wanted and framed with white.
I embossed the Kaisercraft Metal Plate folder on to white
card stock and popped the bamboo piece in front.
Added my STAMPlorations sentiment with
Tim's Gathered Twigs and inked the edges.
So glad I got this finished as the challenge ends in a few days
and have had the bamboo piece made for some time.
I did make another card with this technique and folder
in a different coloured spray but
is much larger and not quite enough white space
 for this challenge.

That's it for today. Too hot outside so giving me
some play time and even got started on Christmas cards
Yes I know I am so late this year - just hadn't felt like
getting my 'stuff' out before hand.
Bye for now

Perseverance Pays

Hello and Welcome to today's post for the
The heading says it all!

After spending an afternoon trying
This technique from Jay Soriano
all my efforts landed up you know where.
It wasn't as easy as it looked BUT I was
determined to keep trying so the
following day it worked. Yay!
So happy with the result
but has taken me an age
to try and get a decent photo with the silver foil
and soft stenciled background.
I used SU reinkers in
Rich Razzleberry, Brilliant Blue
Mossy Meadow and Yo Yo Yellow.
Some of these colours got lost in the drying
but happy that I got a pattern from it all.
Cut it out with a stitched die and
attached to white card base.
Added a die cut in silver and finished with the
silver strip on the side.
Sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

A close up

My Mix is Oxidized Metal, Stamping,
Stenciling and Die Cutting.
Thanks to Susan for  picking this technique
enabling me to try something new and completely different..
Great inspiration from the Designers.

Till next time - Cherrio from
