It's Word Week at Just Us Girls

Hello and Welcome to Saturday's post for
Just Us Girls with a New Month of Challenges.
Sue is Hosting for our Word Week and chose Leaves.
Our September Guest is Lindsey from
bashfulblogging.blogspot.com
Welcome Lindsey. Lovely to have you this month.

I used one of my favourite retired SU sets -
Botanical Blooms for my leaves.
Smooched my watercolour paper with a variety of
Tim's Distress Inks then die cut them
inking up the centres .
Embossed my background then added the leaves.
Attached my sentiment and matted with
the same card stock as my base.
Finished with variegated cotton and pearls.

Pop over and see how Lindsey and the Team
chose to showcase their leaves.
Join us and you could be Chic of the Week
and in the running for Guest Designer - like Lindsey.

Popping this card over to
Cards4Galz for their Hello Challenge
and

using Autumn Colours.

I Chose Art

Hello Crafty Friends
It's time for the New Challenge over at
and I thought I would do something a little different.

I brought back a door hanger from a hotel I stayed at
while in Dublin UK and as it hangs on the door to my play room
I decided to do a template of it and make it a bit more 'me'
hence I went with a Scottish Theme with the Thistle and colours.
Of course I added a few dragonflies
as I love the Outlander Series.
Here's how it started with a template from this this -  to finish like this!

Started my background with
Lindy's Sprays and Powders
using the same mediums for my thistle die cut.
then cutting out the Italian Flourish doily from Cherry Lynn
to add to the side and coloured with Lindy's Spray.
My dragonflies are from Visible Image
as is the words 'I Choose'
'Art' Word from That's Crafty. Added some stamping from
Visible Image around the edges and touches of stenciling
with transparent matt texture paste
adding colour with Art Alchemy Heather Hills Wax.
Stenciled the background with
white texture paste from Tim's Speckles.
Popped my thistle after adding sprinkles of
Heather Flower Soft on the head and
falling down to the bottom.
Finished with a variegated purple bow.

Pop over and see what my
Talented Team Mates, our New Designer
the very talented Tracey
(Big Welcome to the Team)
and Guest Marina created this month.
Be inspired and come join us.
Thanks for dropping in.
Till next time Cherrio from

A Mix of Foiled Leaves

'tis the First of the Month and this post is for
For this month's Anything Goes Challenge
we are looking for Foiling
(Minc machine, foiled card stock or aluminum foil)

I took two different photos trying to get the
shimmer from the silver foil paper.

While searching in my Bit Box for something
I came across this Alcohol Inked piece and
knew it would be perfect for this challenge.
Cut down to size and attached several foiled leaves
and sentiment.
Added some gold thread and a black pearl.
Attached this to metallic silver card base
and my foiling was done.
Pop over and see lots more from the
Talented Team and get foiling!
See you in the Gallery.
