Pretty in 'Pink'

Hi there and Welcome to my Saturday Post for
Just Us Girls
We start the month off with a New Guest Designer
Welcome to Marlena McDeavitt.
You can find her blog  Over Here
and a New Challenge.
Hosting this week is Sue who has chosen a word that
Takes us Back in Time - We are going RETRO!

I will admit this threw me big time and took
an age to finally pick an image for my card.
I thought the dp looked retro and hope my gal
represents the style in some way.

I had these lovely old stamps given to me by a friend
and I had them inked up  only to change my mind
again and again. I finally decided on the cute chic above
and so my card began. This image was also given to me
by a friend so haven't a clue where she came from.
I heat embossed her in black then started adding colour
with - once more those Nuvo Shimmer Powders.
I think she looks pretty cool in that pretty pink dress
with the scarf draped over her arm.
Don't you love that  'purse'
I coloured  her up and gave her something to stand on
then cut it out with a stitched die.
Then all the framing work began. I think my box
of  Designer Papers took fright when I actually
picked out my papers! Been soooo long since I used them.
Got out a very old 'but still a goodie' stamp set -
Springtime Silhouettes from Gina K
for my perfect sentiment nearly going with
the stamps that came with it.
Finished off with gems and sequins.
There you have it - my retro style card.
Pop over and see how our Guest Eva and the Team
chose to showcase their Retro Style cards and
come join in the fun this week by adding yours
to our Gallery. Love to see you there.

Thanks for dropping in - love reading your comments.

You Deserve all the 'LOVE'

We have blinked a few times and
June comes around reminding us it's
only a few more blinks till Christmas!
Scared you didn't I? Scary to think I haven't made
one single Christmas card.
That's for another time because today we have our
June Watercolour Challenge over at
It's always Anything Goes with this month's Option of
LOVE.

You all know me and my love for those
powerful powders!
Once again I go out my little pot of
Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Cherry Bomb
and smooched away. I then dabbed a baby wipe
taking away a small portion of  colour.
I then inked up my sentiment from
with Ranger Red Cinnabar Embossing Powder
which has a lovely gold fleck in it.
Stenciled Tim's Distress Festive Berries to the sides.
Added this to a red backdrop and white card base.

Pop over and see what my team Mates created
and be inspired to come join us in our Gallery.
Just think you could make an early Valentine's Day card
or just show someone how much you love them.

Thanks for popping in today.
